Helloooo. Back again. Db and sil have gone, leaving me with a new dvd writer and a futon.
Berrie, I can now, at long last, watch the dvds you sent me ages ago .

LyraSilvertongue · 03/05/2008 21:03

We have a cat!
He's black and white and about a year old (he was a stray so no-one knows for sure)
Battersea wouldn't let us have any of the younger cats we chose but offered us him. He's a bit older than we would have liked but he's lovely (although he's already nipped me twice). The boys are over the moon with him
Not sure I'd get another rescue cat. Battersea really make you jump through hoops to take an animal home but I suppose they have to make sure he's going to the right home.
We've named him Jasper for now.
It's so exciting! I haven't had a pet for 10 years since my last cat was killed on the road.

That's nice Lyra!
Hope you enjoy the dvd's Oggs (can't remeber what they were now)

Groan, my head hurts but we had fun!

oggsfrog · 04/05/2008 09:45

What were you doing to be having fun? or don't I want to know?

BottlebinBerrie · 04/05/2008 09:59

Er...no, you don't!

oggsfrog · 04/05/2008 10:13

Nuff said .
Doing anything interesting today? Dh has taken dd riding and I'm supposed to be lighting the fires, doing the washing up, washing clothes etc etc, but I'm here instead .

oggsfrog · 04/05/2008 11:12

Ooh, Lyra. Picture of Jasper (good name) please .

nappyaddict · 04/05/2008 12:11

sorry to butt in but what is this thread? do you all know eachother or something?

oggsfrog · 04/05/2008 15:00

Just as it says on the tin... the Lyra, Berrie, Zeb, Binkle and Oggsfrog new chat thread.

BottlebinBerrie · 04/05/2008 16:54

We've been on the allotment today.
We have dug a new veg bed and mowed around the bluebells. It's been lovely. Any plans for tomorrow?

BottlebinBerrie · 04/05/2008 17:03

There is a medieval market in the village and a car boot we might call in on. I need to get some fleece for my beans and pop back up the allottment. Then we need to do some work in the garden and clean out the hens.

oggsfrog · 04/05/2008 17:06

Did you get dh to do the digging? I love bluebells. Been raining here all day.
Dd is having a friend over tomorrow for a few hours so I'm hoping the weather is better and I can shoo them outside. If not I think I'll do a feltmaking session with them or some other crafty thing.
Still getting eggs?

BottlebinBerrie · 05/05/2008 07:58

Morning.
Dh got the turf off and I dug it over. It's raining today and not looking too good.
We are getting 3 ish eggs a day. When I let them out this morning there was a big frog in the run. I just managed to save it before it was pecked to death. It's always odd to hear a frog squeak!

Zebedeedoodah · 05/05/2008 08:39

Poor froggie
Anybody got any plans for today? I'm taking DH to the station, sooner rather than later I hope! Then I can chill a bit...possibly take DS to the beach if it stays nice, or down into the woods to see our bluebells before they all die, and let him get all round generally soggy & muddy in the stream.

I spent most of yesterday in bed with runny-bots, stomach ache and all round generally knackered. I think it was the equivalent of a duvet day . And very nice it was too!

In the meantime, I'm off to tidy the kitchen, cos guess what happened to it yesterday on my 'day off'.

BottlebinBerrie · 05/05/2008 09:12

Sigh...how nice, a day in bed!I fantasise about that sometimes. trouble is, if one ever gets it, one is ill too!

Lucky you, no rain...no plans yet until it clears up.

oggsfrog · 05/05/2008 11:57

Glorious sunshine and blue skies here .
Have just collected dd's friend and am about to get the wool out so they can make felt snakes.
Then I'm going to get lunch, then boot them out to plant potatoes and borage.

BottlebinBerrie · 05/05/2008 12:19

It's stopped raining now. Been up to the medieval market...lots of Ye Olde beefburger Van and the like. It's beginning to get sunny. DH has been a miserable git all morning until I suggested he leave us to go and fly his plane and now he's fine. I'd rather he bogged off than have to put up with his miserable mug any longer.

Zebedeedoodah · 05/05/2008 16:45

That's how I felt Berrie when DH headed off on the train this morning. And we've now had a lovely day mooching around Falmouth, looking at the boats, going down to the woods and generally just chillin'. Oops, fish fingers are about to burn

BottlebinBerrie · 05/05/2008 18:25

I really want a drink tonight. Feeling pretty glum.

oggsfrog · 05/05/2008 18:28

Why so glum Berrie?
I'm being tempted by a bottle of white that I know dh won't drink until next weekend, but I drank Thur, Fri, Sat and Sun so need to abstain.
Let's be strong together eh?

binkleandflip · 05/05/2008 19:10

Hullo!!!

I've been ordered over here by Oggs to update you on my hydraulic stool adventures

How is everyone doing?

I see you are abstain from alcohol - so am I - I've taken the plunge and I'm doing the cambridge diet at the mo - lost 7lb this week (first week, easy to be enthuisiastic I know!!)
Hopefully it will continue in same vein so that if (WHEN) we get to meet up I shall be sylph-like shadow of my former self!!

oggsfrog · 05/05/2008 19:16

Wahey! Good to have you back Binks.
Talk to me about the Cambridge diet.
Start with the most important part, the cost.

Have you opened yet?

binkleandflip · 05/05/2008 19:27

Not opened yet - few technical hitches more to do with the lease of the flat above than the salon but we are due to exchange on Wednesday!!

The cambridge diet is where you basically have shakes and soups and bars instead of ACTUAL FOOD for the first few weeks then you start having less of those and more healthy food as the weight starts coming off.

I started on Monday, got weighed on Saturday and I'd lost 7lb. You have a one to one meeting with a 'counsellor' once a week to get measured/weighed and have a chat and then you buy your supplies for next week. A weeks supply for 3 sachets a day was around £34 which isnt bad when you consider youre not eating anything else.

You have to drink 4 pints of water a day and NO ALCOHOL whilst youre on the strictest part of the diet. Suits me because if you give me a yard I'll take a mile ie food - so I'm better not having anything and I have to say I'm not missing pigging out at all and my clothes are getting looser FAST!!

binkleandflip · 05/05/2008 19:28

Now your turn...where ya going soon????

I'm intrigued!!

oggsfrog · 05/05/2008 19:45

Where else?

Joseph!
