£43? Ouch.
And poor old Primrose. Is she ok?

oggsfrog · 28/04/2008 20:09

I know Zeb, but the poor buggers are really suffering at the moment.
Primrose (aged Warren, broody par excellence) has not been out to my knowledge today. Will have to move her and eggs tomorrow to more suitable accomodation .

BottlebinBerrie · 29/04/2008 07:52

Moooooorning!

Zebedeedoodah · 29/04/2008 09:10

Yep. Morning. Had to dive off early yesterday as DS had squirty-bots at nursery. He claims he's better today so have dumped him at CM's with a catering size pack of trainer pants.

Zebedeedoodah · 29/04/2008 14:23

Oh dear, has the squirty-bots frightened you all off?

BottlebinBerrie · 29/04/2008 14:28

Tee hee not at all. Is our thread dying do you think?

Zebedeedoodah · 29/04/2008 14:36

I blame Binkle and her pneumatic chairs.

BottlebinBerrie · 29/04/2008 15:00

I've seen Binkle around. I think we've put her off with our chicken talk or else excesssive angst about diets and drinking. I think she is maybe a more positive soul!

BottlebinBerrie · 30/04/2008 10:35

Morning everyone...Lyra has disparooed now too!

BottlebinBerrie · 30/04/2008 10:48

Took Dc to dentist this morning as ds had a thing on his front tooth. He wouldn't open his blooming mouth...something of a drawback at the dentist! Bribes did not work...eventually the old, 'I'll take your monster truck away,' did the trick!
Anyway, mouldy looking tooth was nothing to worry about which I'm glad about as I've been really careful with his teeth and don't know what else I could do if he turned out to have bad teeth.

LyraSilvertongue · 30/04/2008 13:08

I'm still here. I've been feeling dog tired the last few days so not been on MN much, except in the evenings. I really think wheat is the cause of my ills. I seem to be growing more and more intolerant to it. I ate two doughtnuts on Saturday night at work and felt like death warmed up on the drive home.
The docs are doing blood tests to see if anaemic. Also had my thyroid tested but that's fine.
We're gong out to dinner tonight so I've spent the morning trying to find a table. No luck at The Ivy, Gordon Ramsay's at Claridges or Nobu (my favourite) but finally got a table at Le Gavroche, which is 22 on the World's 50 Best Restaurants list. But I've been reading online reviews and a lot of people have said it's disappointing and over priced. Oh well, I'm sure it will be better than my cooking!

Berrie, I took my two to the dentist last week and they were so excited by the chair going up and down it didn't occur to them not to open their mouths.

OP posts:
BottlebinBerrie · 30/04/2008 13:24

Oh lord dd wouldn't even sit on the flippin' chair and ds had to be picked up and put on it.
Any special occasion for dinner?

Have just given ironing lady all our clothes and am going out into town with MFL'sF tomorrow night. I don't go out much which is why it didn't occur to me to worry about whether I looked a scruff the next couple of days. Have also invited round the Mum and children of a little boy at play school in an effort to make ds more sociable which means mega cleaning up as they've never been before...trouble is I don't see the bad stuff like cobwebs and thick layers of dust any more!

LyraSilvertongue · 30/04/2008 13:27

I don't see the pen on the walls, which may be why my house hasn't old yet.
No special occasion, just haven't been out on our own in ages.
How much does an ironing lady cost? We could do with one of those.

OP posts:
LyraSilvertongue · 30/04/2008 13:29

sold

OP posts:
LyraSilvertongue · 30/04/2008 13:51

Btw, we're not paying for the meal. it would cost the same as two weeks worth of groceries from Sainsbury's

OP posts:
BottlebinBerrie · 30/04/2008 13:56

£7 per hour...worth evry penny!
All our ironing costs £14 and just the main stuff, £7. You know those big reusable blue bags from Tesco? Two of those stuffed full of folded clothes for £14.
I've used a bigger company before but they were more expensive, less flexible and the ironing was worse for having been done on a machine.

BottlebinBerrie · 30/04/2008 14:15

P.s. Sorry you are feeling grotty

LyraSilvertongue · 30/04/2008 15:49

I'm fine today. Been avoiding wheat so maybe that's made a difference already.
£14 is a bargain! Does that include shirts?

OP posts:
BottlebinBerrie · 30/04/2008 20:36

Certainly does - tee hee!

Zebedeedoodah · 01/05/2008 08:26

An ironing lady sounds like bliss.
Lyra, re the no-wheat thing, what do you have for breakfast? I'm a firmly toast & coffee kinda gal and get confused if I have to make another decision at that time in the morning. But it sounds like something I should try.

And DS's botty problems came back big time, so I've been confined to barracks and now he's given it to me. Gah!

BottlebinBerrie · 01/05/2008 08:28

Morning all...how goes it?
Today I shall be mostly mucking out my house for visit of new child friend for ds, his brother and his mother. I favour the sweep all clutter into large plastic box approach...oh dear said box is still full from last time.
I need to make a couple of quick birthday cards...yes ds I'm sure your Great Aunt would love a picture of a monster truck.
The Tesco order is due between 9 and 11...I was good, I put no cake on it. My weight is going up since quitting alcohol which doesn't seem right but I have had only 1 cake/chocolate day since Sunday. It was still monstrously expensive even without alcohol, cake or eggs!
I need to nip up and see if the purple sprouting broccoli plants are ok and I'm out this evening. (yesterday's outfit is in washing machine!)
What are you up to?

oggsfrog · 01/05/2008 08:34

I'm Lyra. The last time dh and I went out alone together was about 11 years ago .
You'll have to tell me what you have to eat. Just to make me double . Hope you have a good time .
Wheat/too many bad carbs bloats me terribly and makes me feel slow and woolly in the head. Hope you get it sorted.

Berrie, if I did any ironing I would be of you too .
Say hello to YFL'sF - is he working at moment? Anything good? Do you meet him in London or more locally?

Zeb. If you're around, I sat down to watch Animal Attraction the other night. , at the awfulness of it. Even the presence of the Heavenly Hugh could not entice me to watch more than 10 minutes. Glad I've still got Paperback Hero to come - think that will be much more bearable .

Wonder when her big opening is/was?

Zebedeedoodah · 01/05/2008 08:35

Sounds like you're having a really lazy, slow day there! Get off your backside, stop eating cake and do some work for a change
Me? Not sure. More tidying, sort of, nursing my botty, nursing DS's botty and nursing pain in the DH whose back went yesterday and is writhing in agony. Flo' Nightingale I'm not . I may even feed the chickens who still haven't laid any eggs.

Zebedeedoodah · 01/05/2008 08:40

Oh dear Oggs but I did warn you that it wasn't at all good. However, there's vague compensation when he gets his shirt off later. The ending's diabolical, though the alternative one's even worse. Pback Hero is definitely better, but then that wouldn't be hard!
