oggsfrog · 19/04/2008 01:27

Ha! You see! It's retribution for 'The Massacre of the Spiders'

Bum. Have I had too much gin? I'm feeling feisty.

Berrie · 19/04/2008 09:00

You see I might be an alchie but at least I'm done by 10pm...what on earth are you both doing still at it at that hour of the morning? Also, how on earth do you get up???

Berrie · 19/04/2008 18:17

And your hangovers have kept you away aaallll day!

binkleandflip · 19/04/2008 19:42

Looks like we all had a bit of a heavy night last night!! Dp was away in London so I had four friends round for mexican and well, needless to say tequila was consumed and it got messy. What started with civilised chatting over a meal ended with a strobe and fog machine (dont ask why I have these), the smoke alarm in meltdown being leathered routinely with the end of a broom and heel indents in the table from dancing - what a great night

Today has been a bit of a write-off - there is an arse-shaped groove in the couch from where I have been festering all day. The highlight of the day was eating three kettle chip barmcakes for lunch and feeling great for four minutes then immediately hugely nauseous and worse still dd is having a sleepover tonight and she and her friend are currently razzing around the house screeching at full pitch.....my head hurts.....

Berrie · 20/04/2008 08:41

Oh dear oh dear Binkle...sounds worth it though!

oggsfrog · 20/04/2008 10:28

. Far too much gin was consumed. I daren't look at 'threads I'm on' for fear of what I got up to .
The gin bottle is in the freezer still and I'm averting my eyes every time I open the door so's not to see the awful reality of how much I drank .
I do know it was almost 2.30 before I crawled to bed. It was dh's fault. The film he'd rented was absolutely pants, so I came into the other room to watch dvd's on the computer.
_

Right. Have drawn a line under it, and will pretend that fri night did not happen .

Berrie · 20/04/2008 10:41

I'm not drinking tonight....I know that I keep ing but I really do not feel very good about my drinking.

oggsfrog · 20/04/2008 10:50

Well that was it for me until next weekend.

Berrie, what else do you like drinking? Elderflower cordial/ginger and lemongrass cordial/schloer/Áme/Fruit juices/'nice' coffee/ frozen coffee /milk/water/specialist teas/chai/hot choc/? Make sure you've got a supply of something else.
Try to come at it from the angle of being good to yourself rather than depriving yourself.
Keep yourself busy. Do you knit? You do crosstitch don't you?
Come on here or text/msn me if you want.

Berrie · 20/04/2008 15:21

Thanks Oggs
I keep meaning to learn to do something with threads. The lighter nights may help too. I can busy myself in the garden.
It's been a severly crap day today.

LyraSilvertongue · 20/04/2008 18:16

Oh dear Oggs and Binkle. You drunkards
I know what you mean oggs about not wanting to check threads i'm on the morning after...

OP posts:
oggsfrog · 20/04/2008 18:54

I did check in the end. Nothing too bad .

LyraSilvertongue · 20/04/2008 19:03

'Must not Mn while drunk'. That should be our new mantra.

OP posts:
Berrie · 21/04/2008 08:12

Must not get drunk at all is mine.

Berrie · 21/04/2008 08:55

We have eggs....teeny weeny ones

Zebedeedoodah · 21/04/2008 09:44

Eggs
Have you cooked them yet?

What a bunch of alkies you all are. Not that I drank an entire bottle of white on Saturday night....and wayyyyy too much brandy on Friday. Ahem, last night only 2 glasses of white. No excuse except Friday night & Saturday were both VERY bad days with DH. Yestrday was better.

Lyra. In response to your post on Friday. Living on a building site ain't great, mainly because of the mess, the dust and having crap everywhere. Why do you think I'm on ADs and work full time? However, I've also been living with this for 4 years, whereas yours will only be a couple of months and it WILL be worth it.

Berrie · 21/04/2008 10:01

Oh dear. Has Dh returned to London now? Any news of the appeal?

We will have a ritual eating for tea...oh no we won't I'm at work They'll have to do it without me. We keep going to look to see if we can work out who is laying. I reckon it's either Red Pecker or Metal Petal.

Went to Docs on Friday. She's referred me for Physio for my back and I'm changing to citilopram tomorrow for my messed up head.

Zebedeedoodah · 21/04/2008 10:31

Good for you Berrie. I hope it goes well. 'sfunny - DS has also named all of our chickens 'peck-pecks'. Bit of a theme here.

There's no news on an appeal yet, and we didn't talk about it over the weekend. Probably because if we had it could have got very bad and I'd probably have driven off with DS. And DH knows that. DH is back to London later today, but I'm driving up there on Wednesday for a work thing.

Berrie · 21/04/2008 10:52

Oh dear. I suppose it must be hard for you both to resolve conflict when you don't have to sleep next to each other every night.
Hope it settles down soon.

Zebedeedoodah · 21/04/2008 10:55

Thanks Berrie. Yes, I'm sure it will...until the next time.

Still, me and my best friend have just booked 2 nights away with our respective DCs in a cottage halfway between us next month. She's going through a ropey patch too, so we'll just get all maudlin and drunk together.

Zebedeedoodah · 21/04/2008 16:44

Awfully quiet today.

Berrie · 21/04/2008 20:07

Sorry Zeb. Crappy day, feeling low, not very chatty.

Berrie · 22/04/2008 07:53

Morning all. can start my citilopram today. Best thing is that DH is on them too so no more running out!

Oggs, I stayed sober last night. Here's to another alcohol free day!

oggsfrog · 22/04/2008 08:51

Well done Berrie! See. You can do it . Great that you're getting eggs. Mine have started laying out and about and we rarely find them at momnet.

Sorry the atmosphere at home isn't good at the moment Zeb. It's awful living with an 'elephant in the room' isn't it? Here, have a bit of gratuitous Hugh.

Any more thoughts on moving v staying put Lyra?

Berrie · 22/04/2008 10:24

Thanks Oggs. I did it last week too though and gave up on Wednesday.
Do you not lose birds to the foxes? I feel so sorry for mine in the pen but it's too hard to get them back in to let them free range yet.
I remember finding huge nests of eggs in the garden as a child. Do you eat them if they've been there a while?
