There's always the appeals process to take it over the heads of the council's nimby planning committee.
As for Jo Whiley, if I tripped over her I wouldn't recognise her . Little Mark I would though.
And if we're playing this game, DH gave his Evening Standard to Giles from Buffy on the train last Friday. And DH even recognised him, which is even more amazing

oggsfrog · 15/04/2008 13:22

Buffy?

Zebedeedoodah · 15/04/2008 13:50

Please tell me you're joking Oggs?

oggsfrog · 15/04/2008 13:59

No Zeb. No tv remember...

oggsfrog · 15/04/2008 14:00

Presumimg it's a tv person and not a band. Did you mean Biffy Clyro?

Zebedeedoodah · 15/04/2008 14:10

No tv? Not even 10 years ago? Buffy the Vampire Slayer, which was great tv. He was the librarian. Or if you want to go back even further, he was the guy in the Gold Blend ads.

Berrie · 15/04/2008 14:51

He is also the PM on Little Britain.

You missed a cracking series there Oggs. I should get the DVD's if I were you.

Berrie · 15/04/2008 14:52

Oggs, you've been on allll day. I bet you could launch your own satellite for the amount of your phone bill!

LyraSilvertongue · 15/04/2008 14:53

Oh him. I didn't get the Buffy reference either (never watched it although did know of its existence). But the Gold Blend ads I do remember.

Zebedeedoodah · 15/04/2008 15:13

Buffy's brilliant. You gotta get the dvds.

LyraSilvertongue · 15/04/2008 15:25

My ex was really into it but I never watched it with him.
I'll give it a try if I get the chance.

oggsfrog · 15/04/2008 16:30

Ah. That Buffy. The one that slays vampires . Nope. No tv for over 10 years. It's good then is it?
Presume you mean Anthony Head aka Frankenfurter. Is it a british show then?

Berrie, we are on a dial-up package. £14 a month for unlimited access, which has actually just been reduced to £7 a month as we've been with them for years. They were offering reduced price Broadband but when I pointed out we couldn't get Broadband the nice chappie said he'd reduce the monthly fee instead.

Lyra, Lyra.... where are the photo's of you schmoozing with Mini Mark and The Whiley?

LyraSilvertongue · 15/04/2008 16:45

Sorry, sorry. I've got a friend's baby (well actually she's just turned 2) here for the first time without her mum and she's not happy. I've got her transfixed with Peppa Pig atm. Friend has taken DS1 to karate in return.
I'll do pix tonight I promise.

Err, no, it's American. He plays (at least at the start) the stuffy typical English librarian type. Well, I thought it was entertaining, reasonably funny and didn't take itself seriously. Lyra's ex probably fancied Buffy.

Zebedeedoodah · 15/04/2008 16:47

Lyra, give the kid chocolate. That'll cheer her up.

LyraSilvertongue · 15/04/2008 16:48

She just toddled into the dining room, saw me typing on the computer and ran away when I turned to look at her.
I'm sure it will get better...

DS2 went to his room and got her a dolly and some Mega Bloks. It's a good job one of us has got some sense...

Berrie · 15/04/2008 19:19

Dh has given up already, had a bad day at work. Makes it 10 times harder for me but I'm of out in a bit so should be able to hold off.

oggsfrog · 15/04/2008 19:55

Anywhere interesting?

oggsfrog · 16/04/2008 06:47

Morning
I think Binkle is so overawed by her hydraulic stool that she's forgotten about us. Hope everything is going okay.

Berrie · 16/04/2008 08:46

Morning. I went for a meal with the 3 courses for a tenner offer with some teacher friends. I almost wavered when they ordered drinks but I had a fizzy water. We spent most of the evening bitching about our old boss!
I didn't feel so well in the night and still feel a bit yucky now so methinks I was poisoned...

Zebedeedoodah · 16/04/2008 09:39

3 courses for a tenner and food poisoning. Spicy curry was it?
I'm afraid I succumbed to a can of beer which was hiding in the fridge, owing to a rather stressful cow-related event which I need to own up to to DH as it's all my fault. . Being a coward I'm going to tell him by text today before he comes home so he has time to calm down.
Still, at least we've booked a plumber starting next week, so I might have hot water soon.

Berrie · 16/04/2008 10:00

Oh dear what happened to the cow?
What has happened to the hot water?

I had watermelon, goats cheese and pumpkin seed salad drizzled with hazelnut oil followed by pork loin with parmesan polenta and flagelot beans followed by hazelnut ricotta, something else cake with lemon curd. It was quite nice for a tenner but I don't feel at all well.

Zebedeedoodah · 16/04/2008 11:11

Oh dear, feeling any better yet?

I totally forgot to register a calf within the time limit (obviously one of his best ones), so now there is only one option. I've just texted DH and he's taken it very badly, understandably. I'm feeling in need of a fag right now as I'm feeling very terrible (this also hits at the roots of my depression, which is just great...).

Hot water. Long story. Involves agas and dodgy pipework. Oh well.
