Thread 175 - will we never shut up?! Pull up a chair and have a good whinge about domestic tedium and annoyingly fictional HBFs... (once we've finished the other thread).

Evening

Goodbye HoudiniHen <sniffs>, like Letus I hope she becomes BogHen and delights a future archaeologist

Yay for Misty behaving at the vet, and boo to traffic

Even bigger boo for all that snow ww - we've only had frost here & that's bad enough.

Parents still being a worry, well stepmum really, which is causing problems for DDad. Work still being too abundant, wish it would all fuck off really.

<ignores the real world>
<warbles> When will I see you again......

LetUsPrey · 01/12/2023 07:30

Morning wenches.

Cold etc.

December! Let the festive panic properly commence!

<throws another log on the fire>

LetUsPrey · 01/12/2023 07:32

Ooo Fancy didn’t see your post there.

In fact <pushes Fancy into cwtch cupboard> I haven’t seen Fancy at all.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 01/12/2023 07:57

Morning. Clouds are all purple with pinky/gold edges - quite scenic. it's also cold.

Hurrah for well behaved Misty, and everything that went well. Boo to everything that didn't, and FTFO to work. Also, Christmas [horror] I completely forgot advent calendars this morning. Fortunately so has DS. Maybe we shall start an evening calendar tradition.

IdiotKillerKitty had been sitting on the patio, glued to the spot, glaring at a foxglove which is hiding a mouse. Then he came in... with the mouse <le eye roll> so I chucked him outside again. He put the mouse down and it promptly ran under the foxglove again. He'll be out there a while longer. I'm tempted to shut the catflap to stop that particular time loop, but that seems mean in the current cold weather.

Must go, I'm meant to be out at BoringOfficeJob

Afternoon. Lovely day but very cold. I defrosted the chest freezer this morning. It’s in the utility which has no heating so it was a bloody cold job. I had the door open and a robin came to see what was going on and kept me company. Smile

No climbing on the roof LetUs only the lights on the tree.

Oh dear, poor DGS has broken his wrist in PE. Shock DD sent me a photo of him from A&E with it in a cast. It’s his fourth break. He has had a test for brittle bones which was clear, so he must just be accident prone like his Grandad.

Sorry the family problem hasn’t resolved yet Fancy. <cwtch>

Hope the mouse managed to escape from KillerKitty.

LetUsPrey · 01/12/2023 22:17

Evening wenches.

Went to work, came home, went out again to family party, home now and going straight to bed.

<orders extra bubble wrap for ApricotDGS>

LetUsPrey · 02/12/2023 07:50

Morning wenches.

Awwww at robin coming in to keep you company Apricot.

I remembered DS2’s advent calendar but forgot my jigsaw one so I’ll make a start on that today.

DH already talking at me.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 02/12/2023 13:31

Afternoon. I am busy being sociable and entertaining visitors. We have been for a walk in the zero degrees weather and I'm a bit tired. So we're going out again now, obvs.!

Hope all wenches are well, will RTFT later!

Afternoon. It's been freezing all day so I haven't ventured out. Hopefully warming up a bit tomorrow.

Yay for family party and going out. Have a good evening all. Wine

LetUsPrey · 02/12/2023 19:03

Evening wenches.

I have houseworked, and knitted, and been shopping, and knitted.

Also freezing here. It started an attempt at snow earlier but we’ve had the blinds shut since and I don’t want to look outside.

Hope you get chance for a rest at some point Helen.

LetUsPrey · 03/12/2023 09:41

Morning wenches.

We have snow which can bugger off.

Need to dry my hair, do the ironing, make flapjacks, visiting, etc etc.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 03/12/2023 11:01

Morning. We had Cold last night (and a sprinkling of snow), but it's not freezing any more (not thawing rapidly either, but it's above zero outside). Our VisitingFriend has headed off for home. Yesterday involved village fair, beer festival, and SportingActivity. Today I am meeting another friend, and need to get my arse in gear (and get more fuel).

Poor ApricotDGS Sad

Hope everywench has a good day.

Afternoon.

It's supposed to be a lot colder the next couple of days so I've been out chopping wood. Also did a lot of cleaning and decorated inside with loft of "light decorations", and an advent candelabra, very cozy.

Why do the weekends always go by so fast?

That's so cute with the robin Apes Smile And well done Misty. Maybe she could have a talk with Fräsan about proper behaviour at the vet?

It was a Christmas market at a castle near me this Saturday, unfortunately people have to take the same small, snowy, country road as I usually do, to get there. I ended up in this long line of cars on my way home from the supermarket, a poor busdriver was coming from the opposite direction but managed to pass. I saw another bus coming far away and I just turned around and took another, longer, way home. Then I read that one bus had ended up in the ditch, and also a tractor. It's been chaos apparently.

Hope all wenches has a good day Smile

ApricotCrush · 03/12/2023 17:04

Afternoon. We awoke to a covering of snow, but it's gone now and is raining.

I've been mostly eBaying today to take advantage of an offer, when I wasn't being interrupted by DH who was trying to set up some security cameras and couldn't download the necessary app which seemed to be in Chinese. Confused I was of no use whatsoever.

That sounds awful WW, glad you managed to avoid it. Well done with the wood chopping Shock, lights and decorations.

LetUsPrey · 03/12/2023 19:37

Evening wenches.

Got everything done I wanted to today. Had another go at a snowflake pattern on my knitting but it looks more like a little flock of birds. It’ll have to do.

Eeek at traffic chaos Wicked, but pleased that you missed it. I bet your decorations and lights look lovely.

Hope you get chance to have a rest at some point Helen. Sounds a fun but full on weekend!

Hope your snow stays away Apricot. I’m hoping ours has gone too but I can’t be arsed to look outside.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 03/12/2023 22:38

Evening. We have no snow, just persistent rain.

That sounds like a right pain Wicked - thank goodness you got home ok without getting stuck in a snowdrift too!

DH has got xmas lights up while I've been out, then we cooked tea. I'm pooped.

Morning wenches.

Oh look, it’s Monday again. Going to get organised re things left to buy and do. Obviously in my lunch break. Obviously.

I’m hopeful the rain has washed away all the snow and it hasn’t frozen.

Have warm wenchy days all.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 04/12/2023 08:09

Morning all. It's raining. I have driven DS to the bus, and fed the chickens. IdiotKitty has worn himself out by running about like an idiot in the house, and is asleep on a beanbag.

It looks very monday-ish out there. God luck with the planning LetUs, I ought to do similar. I probably won't. <Le enormously tired sigh.>

ApricotCrush · 04/12/2023 16:54

Afternoon. Dark, rainy, miserable, grey day. I did Sainsbury’s this morning. It was very busy for a Monday and everyone got in my way. Add to that the bloody awful Christmas music SantafuckingBaby and I wasn’t in the best of moods. The post office and the chemist had queues round the shop as well. Grrrrrr.

LetUs I always had trouble knitting motifs into a piece of knitting because I pull the yarn too tight across the back, so now I darn them in after.

Hope Helen’s had a less hectic day.

We’re watching the new series of the Crown.

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 04/12/2023 18:04

Grin Apes, I remember one year when I heard Feliz Navidad wherever I went, just wanted to put a fork in my brain or something.

-15 here, lovely Hmm

LetUsPrey · 04/12/2023 18:59

Evening wenches.

I think you’ll find that’s -fucking15 Wicked. Brrrrrrrrrr!

I’ve tried that before Apricot. Let’s just say it gave what I’d been knitting a very informal finish Grin

Awwww at worn out IdiotKitty.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 04/12/2023 22:21

<snort> at 'informal finish' - all the best hems are unfinished Hmm Grin

That's very chilly Wicked - hope you're wrapped up warm!

I did the supermarket thing today too Apricot - it's not fun.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 05/12/2023 07:17

Morning. Daaaaaaaaaaaaaaark. Too dark to go and and feed chickens. No such worries for KillerKitty though. I came down this morning to unspecified entrails. Cleared them up. Fed him. Fed him a bit more. Went to wake up DS. Came down to him finishing up a mouse and more entrails on the floor. <le sigh/scrub>

Hope everywench has a good day. I'm off for a bit of spa and massage with a friend later, which will be nice (and probably rather painful since I'll get them to work on my shoulder).

OP posts:
LetUsPrey · 05/12/2023 07:29

Morning wenches.

I’d like to withdraw my awwww re KillerKitty this morning. Is he perhaps thinking you’re an Ancient Greek priestess and he wants you to read the entrails?

Quite jealous of the massage. My hip is all kinds of sore. I’ve even been doing some stretches.

Outside appears to have forgotten the switch on the sun this morning.

Love and good days to wenches.

ApricotCrush · 05/12/2023 17:52

Evening. A better day weatherwise and a bit warmer. I've spent a lot of the day sorting the photos taken during the year for the CDs I give to the DC at Christmas. I try to do it as I go along, but time just goes by. <sigh>

Gosh WW, that's cold. Shock

We were popping out this morning when I noticed a strange bird in the front garden. DH said it was one of the hens from next door, only little, black and white. I've never seen them. Goodness knows how it got there. Confused He went round and described it to the neighbour and did an impression of how it was walking. Hilarious! Neighbour said 'yes, that's one of my hens'. Grin

Lol at 'informal finish'.

Hope Helen enjoyed her spa.
