Thread 175 - will we never shut up?! Pull up a chair and have a good whinge about domestic tedium and annoyingly fictional HBFs... (once we've finished the other thread).

Awwwwwwww - new squidgy baby for FamilleLetUs Grin

I have met myself coming back several times over I think. But home now and, bar mopping up, the mad deadline job is done, and went very well. Hurrah. My feet bloody hurt though - turned out my new boots aren't suitable for schelpping any great distance in, when combined with this socks. <pages Dr Athos for a foot massage> My quads are also inexplicably sore. Dr Athos will have to work his way upwards from my feet. #SilverLining Grin

I reckon that MN have a hefty sponsorship deal with that brand of chocolate. Hmm

Afternoon. Lovely sunny day, golf was played. Yay! It’s amazing what I can get done when I’m on my own.

Congrats on the new family member LetUs. I know, Christmas is looming but I don’t think I can cope with it at the moment. We’ve got so many appointments coming up between us in the next couple of weeks.

Grin at the chocolate.

Have a lovely evening all. Wine

LetUsPrey · 17/11/2023 20:40

Evening wenches.

Hurrah for sunshine and golf!

Hurrah for deadline job being done! I’m sure Doctor Athos will be happy to oblige <tae>. No duty, all pleasure.

Work’s been fairly knackering this week. I’m fit for nothing.

LetUsPrey · 18/11/2023 08:23

Morning wenches.

All the rain again. Ah well.

Stuff to do in the house this morning and then we’re taking my mum and dad to see DS1 and his girlfriend and their house. Then back here for tea, then Strickly, then sleep.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 18/11/2023 09:33

Morning all. Raaaaaaaaaaaaiiiiiiiiiiiiiiinnnnnn. The bottom of the garden is still flooded, the soakaway is the front is looking rather full, and KillerKitty is very bored.

No plans today other than general tidying and housework.

ApricotCrush · 18/11/2023 16:27

Afternoon. Rain all day.

I’ve been mostly knitting today. I can see the end so that’s spurred me on.

Sounds a lovely day LetUs.

Oh dear Helen, hope it stops raining soon, and KillerKitty can get out.

LetUsPrey · 18/11/2023 19:08

Evening wenches.

<sends giant water hoover to Helen’s>

Managed a bit of knitting. Went round to BigSis’s to drop off gifts for her to take to her new grandbaby. Grandson was there - he’s almost 1! - and he was smiley and giggly and squidgy. Lovely afternoon with DC and my parents. Tired now though so having a drink whilst watching Strictly.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 18/11/2023 23:11

Evening. We have been out to a local gig that I'd forgotten about. Dh's shoulder has survived, and DS is playing his guitar - inspired by this evening's entertainment. I'm a bit deaf tbh, but it was good fun Grin
Also went for a walk this afternoon to inspect the flooding. The ducks are swimming in the woods, and the bridge to said woods, though visible now, looks distinctly wonky Confused
It's a bit late now and I'd like some sleep...

LetUsPrey · 19/11/2023 08:41

Morning wenches.

Sounds a fun evening Helen. Eeeek at ducks swimming in the woods! Hope the bridge is okay.

Slept quite well for a change. Usual Sunday here which I’d be quite happy to extend to the rest of the work (except for the ironing).

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 19/11/2023 11:06

Morning all. Sunny/cloudy here just now, so it will be dark raining by the time my washing is done... Hmm
I need to encourage DS to do homework/revise.

Celebrating one month without the blob, woohoo! Here's hoping 😀

Hope all wenches has a good day 😀

LetUsPrey · 19/11/2023 16:33

Afternoon wenches.

It rained, then it rained more, then it rained even more than that. I believe it’s still going.

Have washed, visited, ironed, put away much laundry, knitted, considered a bath.

That’s some impressive knitting there Helen!

Here’s hoping it stays away now Wicked.

ApricotCrush · 19/11/2023 16:50

Afternoon. Rain on and off all day. I’ve knitted, well, done some more maple leaves on the jumper.

Oh, those knitting needles. Shock Amazing,

Fingers crossed for you WW.

FancyFancy · 19/11/2023 18:13

Evening.

Had a lovely mini-meet on Thursday & was also out on Friday evening with a neighbour. Am feeling rather disorganised with the change in routine and a rather unproductive week at work, constant dealing with everyone else's queries & not getting much of my own work done <sighs> Parents are also a big worry, all sorts of problems going on there & a family call scheduled tonight, assuming we can arrange it without stepmum listening in.

Wine and Cake all round is needed I feel Grin

That knitting is made helen!

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 19/11/2023 21:55

Evening all.

As predicted, the washing got rained on, but it did get dry enough that it's mostly dried completely since I brought it in - apart from the duvet cover which a certain IdiotKitty decided to nest on. <cbf> at IdiotKitty

Other than washing and revisions stuff, I've spent the afternoon cooking. Now I'm thinking about bed. Though I have to make it first of course. Adulting is soooooo tedious.

Good luck with the family conflab Fancy

Morning wenches.

Ah Monday we meet again.

That sounds like a lot of stress and worry Fancy <squidge> Hope progress was made.

Oh Helen, that crappy moment of realising the bed’s not made when you’re ready to go to bed.

Suppose I’d better get a move on.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 20/11/2023 08:10

Morning all.

I have got up, fed animals, got DS off to school and been a cat bed. Is that enough for one day? Can I go back to bed again now?

Ho hum. DH's shoulder is still very painful so there's lots of justified grumbling going on, but he does have this habit of muttering to himself, or trying to talk (to me) quietly in bed, which is just bloody annoying because 1) it usually wakes me up, and 2) 9/10 times I have to tell him to repeat himself because I don't catch what he's saying. Arghhhhhhhhh.

Still. No rain this morning. We're not at the time of year when I can admire the sunrises as I stomp/squelch down the garden to the chickens. Today's effort was pink cloudy fading to peach as the sky turned powder blue. Scenic. Though I'd still rather be asleep in bed.

Have a good day all. Hope that Fancy has a better week at work and gets parents sorted without too much fuss.

Afternoon. Rather miserable day. I went to town this morning for supplies and looked for Christmas cards but there aren’t many shops left that have a good choice. Clinton’s, W.H. Smith and our lovely department store have all gone and the little card shops hadn’t got anything I liked.

We’ve got a messy day tomorrow. My car is in for MoT at 10 o’clock, then Virgin Media are coming to do something with the TV between 12 and 4 and there’s DGS to collect. I might have to do that but I may not have my car back and I hate driving DH’s. Argh!

Hope your family call went well Fancy. <cwtch>

LetUsPrey · 20/11/2023 20:02

Evening wenches.

Today was very very Monday. Rain also.

Urgh at a very sort of stacked up day tomorrow Apricot. Hope it all goes smoothly.

Must get organised with Christmas cards.

Ohhhhh Helen, muttering can get in the bin. And you can be a cat bed for as long as you want.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 20/11/2023 20:17

Evening. I can be a cat bed for as long as the cat wants LetUs - my feelings on the matter have nothing to do with it!

Today has been busy and also monday-ish. Though at least the weather has been mostly nice (mizzly rain this evening). I'm pooped and would like an early night.

Fingers crossed for everything running smoothly tomorrow Apricot! I tried to get birthday cards a couple of days ago; I should know better by now, at this time of year.

That’s so true about the cat bed situation Helen Grin

LetUsPrey · 21/11/2023 07:18

Morning wenches.

Awake early again, lovely feeling of stressy ick in my stomach. Sigh.

Hope all’s okay with wenches. <cwtches> for those who heed/want them.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 21/11/2023 11:11

Morning all, just about.

Weather is grey and dreary here. I've done yoga-ish things and work. I think that a hot chocolate calls...

<cwtch> for LetUs and FTFO to stressy ickness. Here is FAF to help...

Afternoon. Rather grey and darkish all day here too.

Everything went well, the car passed the MOT (phew) and the Virgin Media guy came in good time for DH to collect DGS.

My legs are stiff from walking around town yesterday. I’m so unfit. Blush

Hope the stress ickness went away quickly LetUs.
