Midsummer today so visited mum for lunch and this evening I'm invited over to nice landladies for "grillning", barbeque Smile Wine

ApricotCrush · 23/06/2023 16:36

Afternoon. Very warm this morning but it’s raining now so we don’t have to water the plants.

Oh dear, that was a bit of a shock this morning Helen. Well done with the Monopoly, I’ve forgotten how to play it. Hmm

Hope DS2 has a lovely time at his prom LetUs. I think DGD’s is next Tuesday. I won’t see her but I’ve told her to get lots of photos. Also hope the packing goes well and you have a fab holiday.

That sounds lovely WW. Have a nice time.

Wooo! Foo Fighters at Glastonbury... that's put my evening plans on hold for a bit grin]

Happy holidays Wicked

LetUsPrey · 23/06/2023 21:37

Evening wenches.

Just watching the highlights of that now Helen. Hurrah for the Monopoly win - those dark blue properties are definitely the key.

DS2 just about let me stop the car before he undid his seatbelt and got out of the car. Lots of parents waiting and taking photos. Nope, out of the car and legged it.

Have an amazing time Wicked.

I think my brain is broken Grin Fortunately I’ve finished packing.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 23/06/2023 22:55

Evening all. I have been out seeing Dad, and now back to watch Arctic Monkeys on TV, who are looking very similar to the show we saw a few weeks ago.

I am tiiiiiiired. Still no rain here, so I will need to do watering tomorrow.

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 24/06/2023 00:20

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 24/06/2023 07:12

It is hot and sunny here, yada, yada... No cat-related carnage though, so that's good. DH snored and woke me up early <cbf>

LetUsPrey · 24/06/2023 07:14

Morning wenches

Grin Wicked. Hope you’re feeling okay this morning.

<sends rain to Helen>

At the airport. Rather tired

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 24/06/2023 10:28

I'm never drinking again.

Spent some time at the bathroom hugging the toilet, I'm not used to partying.

FancyFancy · 24/06/2023 12:39

<passes water and ibuprofen to ww>

I am going to have to do a rain dance again aren't I? Why do all the clouds hang on to the rain and dump it all a few miles away? 🤬

Have been doing very little so far today, hopefully that will get my brain working better - I see in my last post I used the wrong 'rein' and said the gig was on Saturday. It's Sunday thank god. I may have more energy by then.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 24/06/2023 12:42

<ushers Wicked into dark, sound-proofed corner of Tav>
<tiptoes away>
The day has turned cloudy - hurrah! Though I bet the cloudy won't rain. Still, I need to get out and plant some stuff now that I won't be burned to a crisp the second I step outside.

Hope LetUs flight and travel in general goes smoothly, and holiday accommodation meets expectations. <decorates with room service>

Afternoon. Cloudy all day here but very humid. We need rain.

Grin at WW, that’s hilarious. Hope you’re feeling better now.

Also hope LetUs’s travelling has been trouble-free.

Evening wenches.

two vodkas in and am loving life. Journey was stress free, except for DH having a strop that I’d not handed him back his clear plastic bag at security with his lipsyl in it. A) get your own stuff you man child and B) yes I flipping had, did you check your pockets. Yes, yes I did check. Reader, it was in his pocket. Arse.

Anyway, hotel is lovely, I’ve already been in the pool (usually takes me a few days to brave it) and the ice cream’s lovely.

How are you feeling now Wicked? I’ve been a toilet hugger. It’s not fun.

<warbles> why doesn’t it rain on wenches who want it <nlt and ylt> That should dooooo iiiitttt.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 24/06/2023 21:27

Evening all. I was right - the clouds didn't rain, and also kept coming and going so it got even hotter. Had a productive day anyway - more veg is planted out, and I've netted some cherries before the birds scoff them all. I also let the chickens out into the garden with me (and retrieved one from the house and cleaned up the mess she left). This was very disconcerting to IdiotKitty who came face-to-face with house-chicken on her second attempt to get back in the house, and retreated rapidly. He's not so tough when there's no fence between them. Grin

Maybe I'll try actual sunbathing tomorrow - that should bring a torrential downpour. Or not - judging by the forecast. <Le sigh/le heatwave> I should go out and do watering actually.

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 24/06/2023 21:42

Just want to clarify that I'm NOT going to a marijuana party in the future 🙄

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 25/06/2023 09:15

Morning wenches.

It is blazing hot outside and not a cloud in the sky. I have been in the garden and now hiding indoors. DS has stirred, DH less so. Today I might have an exciting trip to the garden centre for a big pot to move plants into. And/or I will mooch up to Dad's and see what he has, that I can pinch borrow and never give back.

DS also wants to see the Spiderman film at the cinema - this appeals due to air conditioning.

Hope everyone has a good day and doesn't melt. Esp. Fancy going gigging Grin<slaps sunscreen on everyone>
<Hides in darkened room with damp towel round head>

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 25/06/2023 12:37

Hope you're having a great time Letus Smile

I'm still tired, I'm too old for getting drunk Confused I also puked so much I got burst blood vessels all over my face, and my eyes are puffy, I look terrible Confused

LetUsPrey · 25/06/2023 14:53

Afternoon wenches.

Am Grin at your post correcting your drunk post Wicked. I still remember how I felt the day after the last time I had far too much to drink - a few years ago - and I don’t intend to do it again. This is helped by my inability to stay awake for long after even a few drinks.

Loving the chicken IdiotKitty stand off which didn’t last long.

ApricotCrush · 25/06/2023 17:00

Afternoon. Still hot and humid and no rain. <melts>

Nothing done in view of the above.

Lol at IdiotKitty’s encounter with the chicken.

I haven’t been ill-drunk for a very long time WW, it’s just not worth it.

Hope LetUs is having a fab time and Fancy enjoys the bassist gig. Grin

I am HotHotHotHotHot (niagw)
Though to be fair, it has cooled down now.

Garden tasks have been done, I've got a bit sunburnt (didn't take my own sunscreen advice). That's about it.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 26/06/2023 08:10

Morning wenches. Hot and sunny again... am looking forward to an early night tonight, now Glastonbury has finished Grin

LetUsPrey · 26/06/2023 11:50

Afternoon wenches.

Went out for a walk this morning. It’s rather warm.

We’ve got BBC1 here so I’ve seen some bits of Glastonbury but I’ll catch up on the bits I want to see on iPlayer.

ApricotCrush · 26/06/2023 16:49

Afternoon. Cloudy and still hot here. We were supposed to have thunder storms yesterday but they didn't materialise.

I tidied out some cupboards this morning. It's amazing the room you can make.

We watched some Glastonbury last night. I can't believe Debbie Harry is almost 78. Shock I don't know how she still does it. I'd fall over on stage.

OP posts:
FancyFancy · 26/06/2023 18:30

Afternoon.

Never mind 78, I feel about 108. I did spend about two hours singing and bouncing around in the middle of the crowd yesterday, so I shouldn't be surprised. Totally worth it though. Didn't have a great view of the stage - I swear the arena sloped gently away from the stage, but had a good view of one of the big screens so was able to appreciate some fine erm bass playing Grin

Have spent the day at a fine art and antiques exhibition, interesting but I probably would have been more appreciative had my legs not been screaming at me.

Had the joys of a man spreader on the train home. He was clearly pissed off at me not conceding space when he encroached, he huffed and wriggled (bad move - I have very bony elbows that I learnt years ago could guard my space on rowdy dancefloors) and finally passive aggressively asked me if I was ok, as if I was the one doing the fidgeting. He then sent a text complaining about always 'getting mentalists' on the train 😂 Oh and he pointedly turned away when he had to move to let me out, but stared at me out the window after I got off. With hindsight I wished I'd blown a sarcastic kiss to the puerile little prick.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 26/06/2023 22:51

We've had clouds floating about today looking like they might rain, and then we had a few minutes of the wet stuff at about 8pm - whoop!

It's amazing what a difference tidying cupboards can make. It's just getting round to doing it...

FFS at manspreader on the train. Fuckwit. Yay for your pointy elbows Fancy. Glad the concert was good though, and the very civilised fine art & antiques.
