if you worked nights and your child was always in bed and asleep before you went out and never wakes up, would you give your neighbour who was wellknown to your child the baby monitor to keep an ear out on the offchance that they do wake up and a key to get in on that offchance rather than giving up work? (a babysitter costs more than i earn an hour)

I am sorry notty

No-one in their right minds can object to people who can't work.

I was just objecting to people who won't work.

nappyaddict · 05/02/2008 21:33

i know what kind of jobs i would like to do but i can't ever seem to find any. there's always loads of officey/call centre stuff but i think i would get bored of that very easily.

Which job you applying to nappy? it is always worth applying for jobs then you can see if you get it or not & try to work child care etc round it once you know more about it, if you can't do it then you turn it down.

goodluck let us know.

i asked lower down what you want to do, and what your goals are

you need a goal, an aim, or you are just floundering

Quattrocento · 05/02/2008 21:36

And I do think my post has a place on this thread. It was actually a response to this post:

So if you got benefits you would get -

Child benefit £17

Child tax credits about £42

Income support - £59

= £118 - £45 for your mum would be £73

Working you get £50 -£100

  • £30 from your mum from left over benefits

= anywhere from £80 - £130

So yes i can see your better off what your doing than being on benefits BUT the reality is if you were on income support you would have to pay no rent as if your mum rents then the council would pay your rent.

And wondering

tiredemma · 05/02/2008 21:37

A job is a job though NA. I fucking hate mine, but it pays the bills. Call centres are shit, but they generally have large numbers of staff and can be much more flexible, which would fit it around your DS better.

That was my post & i answered you saying -

Unfortunatly Quattro when you are struggling in life to make ends meet you are going to take what will pay you that little bit more, it is the world we live in do you really think people would rather not work? i know some would but not all, sometimes it's a matter of the "have's" & money is one of them in this day & age & with the way the world is going today.

Sad but true!

nutcracker · 05/02/2008 21:39

Oh grow up.

ScoobyDoo · 05/02/2008 21:40

Do you have any Estate agents near you? It is worth poping in & having a chat with someone, give them your details tell them your interested etc..

Lulumama · 05/02/2008 21:41

so, nursery nurse, you can get NNEB or NVQ as you work, nannying.... play leader?

or if you fancy estate agency, there are qualifications you can get for that, you could send a CV round to local agencies, if anything admin based comes up, that would be a road in

nappyaddict · 05/02/2008 21:42

just read that estate agents one again mmj and it says they want an experienced person. back to the drawing board!

OP posts:
nappyaddict · 05/02/2008 21:43

i didnt know you could NVQ for nursery nurse as you worked.. that is still only minimum wage though.

Lulumama · 05/02/2008 21:44

you have to send off your CV, big yourself up and at least get your CV under their noses ! enthusiasm can go a long way too

Lulumama · 05/02/2008 21:45

ok

you are not going to get a job earning £25000 a year straight off

you have to start somewhere

c'mon now....... stop discounting everything the minute it is suggested or a potential obstacle comes up

you have to be positive

nappyaddict · 05/02/2008 21:46

mmj - sorry my mistake. it was one i found on that fish site. i thought you linked to it but you didn't.

OP posts:
nappyaddict · 05/02/2008 21:50

Lulumama · 05/02/2008 21:53
