Over here! (Berrie waves)

Lyra. Did you expect him to say "Phwooaarrr Hot Mamas........DVO is now history....lead me to them"
Here's a pic of a meet-up of Loppies
We seem to have a few years on most of them, but I think he's got it spot on. He does seem to appeal to Mums and Laydeeez of a certain age. Maybe we all want to jump his bones mother him

Anyway this thread is about us now more than him , so maybe were not that sad just yet

oggsfrog · 25/02/2008 07:30

Morning . Had to disappear last night as dh wanted to research oats
Weighed myself this morning and after a week of being good, nay, saintly..... I've lost 3/4 pound S'not fair
Still, I've got until tomorrow. Who knows maybe I'll miraculously lose half a stone overnight

Berrie · 25/02/2008 08:22

I didn't weigh myself this morning as I doubt I've lost anything. Doesn't feel like it anyway. I'm going to cut out the wine this week however and that will have an effect I hope... (Might get some gin)

Sigh...now I know why we don't do painting very often...
I was supposed to be having someone come to interview me about the impact of a nut allergy diagnosis on the family this afternoon so I took all the junk lying around and put it in a huge box hidden in our bedroom. She has cancelled now but I'm loathe to bring the junk back.
The tidiness lulled me into a false sense of security and we got the paints out...groan.

Blimey Oggs - we're all DEFINITELY a darn sight better than that lot. AND a good 10 years younger. Hell, we even wear make up! Has the lad never heard of Yummy Mummies, otherwise known as MILFs?! That's us, that is. (and if that's his attitude, I really am defecting to Hugh. So there. At least he oozes charm too )

Berrie, I'm joining you on a no booze week. I'll be up to the gym at lunchtime too.

Berrie · 25/02/2008 09:24

Bit peed off about the conservatory. We had our quotes and spent Saturday imagining our fantastic garden extension.
When we did the sums we realsied we just couldn't afford to do what we wanted to and it would be a shame to compromise by having something too small.
We could afford what we want but the hours I work change and the fixed rate on our mortgage has only 2 years to go. Also we don't know what the impact on my wages will feel like when I earn over £5000 and get taxed.

OP posts:
Berrie · 25/02/2008 09:27

You're on Zeb

OP posts:
Zebedeedoodah · 25/02/2008 09:36

Berrie, any chance of negotiating with the conservatory company? I agree about compromising though - you'll never be happy with it if you go down that route. Good luck.

We are thinking now of putting a crap lean to on the back rather than on the side. It gets no sun so it will be cold and gloomy but at least it will be extra room. That way we can still do something at the side if we want to when we have more money.

OP posts:
Zebedeedoodah · 25/02/2008 09:45

Is it like a side return alongside the kitchen? That could be done nicely?

But decaff coffee? Yucky yuck yuck. I'm sorry, but it's nearly as pointless as zero alcohol beer. You might as well drink hot water.

Berrie · 25/02/2008 09:53

Don't know what a side return is.
We are in a semi but have lots of space all around and are not overlooked by anyone but the neighbours we are attatched to so we wouldn't have any issues around distance from shared boundries etc.
The plan to put it next to the kitchen would have been lovely. We were thinking of a garden room rather than a conservatory.

I allow myself a cup of tea, then a proper coffee, then a couple of caff tea in the afternoon. De caff at all other times.

OP posts:
Zebedeedoodah · 25/02/2008 10:44

Yep, sort of sounds like a side return - it's the space between you, the fence and your attached neighbour. IYSWIM.

I forgive you for the de-caff thing. I just can't be doing with the my body is a temple. Right. Where's the Gold Blend. [Grin]

Berrie · 25/02/2008 11:23

It's the least I can do since I can't seem to control the booze, the food and the lack of exercise...

OP posts:
oggsfrog · 25/02/2008 12:18

Sign me up for the booze-free week too.
Think I must be due on 'cos I'm feeling fed-up. Have decided to slightly adapt my regime and go more GI. I've got some leftover lamb from yesterday and have the urge to make a good hearty broth. I want to start eating porridge for breakfast too, and grapefruit, and sweet potato.
I'll avoid sugar and potatoes and if I do eat any bread I will eat Burgen which is full of linseed and other goodness (low GI too)

Do you know I feel like a bloody broken record sometimes with this diet malarkey .

LyraSilvertongue · 25/02/2008 12:24

OMG Oggs, I'm not being associated with that lot. We're way younger than most of them. I'm seriously thinking of cancelling my Loppie membership.

Zebedeedoodah · 25/02/2008 12:29

You have Loppie membership? Cancel it immediately or we might have to expel you from our [totally non-Loppie] gang. Besides, I bet not one of them has shoes like mine.

oggsfrog · 25/02/2008 12:31

Or a toilet like mine

Berrie · 25/02/2008 13:07

Or....or....or....(Berrie thinks hard)...a MFL'sF like me!
Although when I was talking to him yesterday I asked him whether if he got famous, he and I would be reduced to the odd phonecall and coffee sometime and he said that Lee was someone he worked with and got along really well with rather than a 'friend' like he and I are friends. Not that I can be bothered to refer to him as My Friend, Lee's ex colleague.....

OP posts:
Berrie · 25/02/2008 13:08

Oggs, lunch for me was a reheated lamb escalope and then I finished off a packet of dates...

OP posts:
LyraSilvertongue · 25/02/2008 13:12

I don't have Loppie membership but if I did I'd cancel it.
Off to Sainsbury's. I'm going to try not to even walk down the biscuits and cakes aisles.

Berrie · 25/02/2008 13:20

Lyra you could eat a truckload of cake and still be gorgeous!

OP posts:
Berrie · 25/02/2008 13:21

I wanted to wake Dh up last night and say, listen it's Lyra's DP. I don't think he'd have appreciated it

OP posts:
Zebedeedoodah · 25/02/2008 13:26

Re-heated chicken pasta from yesterday, then yummy Rachel's dairy low fat vanilla yoghurt. Highly recommended.

Lyra. You're forgiven. You can still be part of our gang.

LyraSilvertongue · 25/02/2008 13:32

DP will be pleased he had at least one listener
He was on BBC News 24 a couple of nights ago but quite late (11.30pm) so I'm guessing the audience wasn't huge.
Right, must go to Sainsbury's now.
