Hello everybody, I haven't been killed off by my cold, just had nonna here plus lots of vet visits for my poorly puss. Rosa, nonna's the "English" one even though she's Italian, but I make her speak English with DD so at least there's input from someone else. I have to resist the temptation to correct some of her pronounciation though, she's never got the hang of "th", even after 40 odd years of speaking English. The odd thing is, when she speaks Italian she now has an English accent.
Poor you lot with sick littlies (and Hot with sick self), so far mine hasn't succumbed to the lergy (lurgy? sp? gah!) that has decimated the numbers at her nursery and I hope it stays that way as were going to the lake to see nonna on Saturday, then Sunday nonna's babysitting because DP and I are going to the Cure concert. He's terribly excited but I'm neither here nor there tbh. At least we're going out and maybe I'll dress up all 80s goth for the occasion. If I can be bothered, which doesn't look likely atm.
Rosa, I'm no expert re uti's but when the pediatra was insistent that DD had one a year or so ago, she advised me to go out and buy a Combitest, which are just sticks with different colour strips you dip in the wee and they give you an idea whether there is an infection in course or not (also test for things like protein, glucose etc. IIRC). It costs about 16 euros I think, but you get loads of sticks and it's well worth the money if only to cut out unnecessary trips to the paed. Bit of a nightmare with a nappy (you have to get this bag thing to go in the nappy) but now very easy with a potty.
Now, I know it's late and my head is full of snot, but have I understood correctly, that you can get some English TV on Italian Sky???? Without having to reprogramme the satellite dish (or whatever it is you have to do)? Or am I being really thick?
