I always thought Il cucchiao era quello migliore...boh.

PippiCalzelunghe · 14/11/2007 12:14

the midwife, who was supposed to be here, now is running 2 hours late. just now that I managed to send DD to the park with DB so not to have her around.

please...

hotHELL · 14/11/2007 12:25

Do you have a midwife coming to your place? I certainly didn't get that service when I was pregnant, is that normal?

PippiCalzelunghe · 14/11/2007 12:28

I didn't get it at the wittington either so was positively impressed. Yes it does sound nice but that's about it really, considering how late they are anyway.

hotHELL · 14/11/2007 12:33

It is weird! Did they phone to apologise?

Worked all morning and now I am going to read and start again at 2pm, uff.

Non sure which of the 2, talismano o cucchiaio, is the most completo e autorevole. Forse Franca lo sa? Francaaaaaa?

hotHELL · 14/11/2007 12:37

And all the midwifes i came across when i was pregnant, were ignorant and pretty unkind, useless & with poor social skills. To think that they were in charge of my baby is frightening. (I am sure that there are some very nice midwifes out there....)

francagoestohollywood · 14/11/2007 12:52

I had some appointments at home at some at the surgery, but things have changed apparently. During my pg I only had one midwife, she was v. nice, and I think she knew her job pretty well. Also the one who was with me during delivery was fantastic. But that's one of the good thing about livingin a small town I think.
don't know much abou talismano della felicita', mi manca, I'm afraid...

OP posts:
PippiCalzelunghe · 14/11/2007 15:35

she came and she was absolutely fantastic!!! Much better than any I've seen the first time. And she'll be the one to follow me through. She was happy to do all the blood tests I wanted and she'll call me with the blood test results within the week if high risk. she also told me to get signed off work and relax. must go see the gp asap then.

hotHELL · 14/11/2007 15:57

Good for you Pippi!!!! A positive midwife experience!

Do you know how long you will take off ?

Take it easy and watch lots of movies during the day - going to the dvd shop now to borrow something fun.

PippiCalzelunghe · 14/11/2007 16:37

I don't know... is it up to me or to the GP to decide? TBH according to the midwife the more the better. will go to gp on friday.

francagoestohollywood · 14/11/2007 18:13

fantastic news! And it;'s nice to get a midwife you get along with. good .
It's very cold here. brrrrrr

OP posts:
hotHELL · 14/11/2007 19:08

Maybe you start with 2 weeks and then see how you feel, no?
Cold here, too, nothing on the telly, wondering what to do....didn;t get to the dvd shop after all, what to do, what to do....

Rosa · 15/11/2007 09:18

PippiCalzelunghe · 15/11/2007 09:51

Please pray DH's passport will arrive today.

hotHELL · 15/11/2007 10:12

I have also almost done all my chores, 15 mins of housework and then the morning is mine to enjoy. mmmmm
Pippi how does your stress manifest itself, doing stuff like overworrying, not sleeping, etc?

PippiCalzelunghe · 15/11/2007 11:38

if I am super-stressed I sleep really poorly, become very touchy and cry a lot. Also because I was also very tired and run down (I think an accumulation of the past year tbh) I also feel very weak and fainty. I am sure a lot is to do with pg. but although I am always very active I am pretty sure I was really pushing myself to the limit. Now I the house is clean, we eat properly everynight, washings are done, grocery in the fridge, paperwork is sorted, we don't fight. it's quite great really.

the garage is finished and looks like a little hut in the garden, it's quite pretty actually, surprisingly.

Hothell have you started 'working' on the new baby yet?

hotHELL · 15/11/2007 12:17

Me too I am like that when depressed/stressed, feeling upset and angry the whole time. Feel good now working a little bit, and doing stuff by myself and with ds. Definetely, I a am no xenia.

We were going to start but then realized that if we were so lucky to get pregnant subito, the baby would be born in estate, which is when ds is around and dh works the most.

You and this garage! It's so funny!

hotHELL · 15/11/2007 12:18

Non so perche' ho mescolato l'inglese e l;italiano, boh!
Rosa, ma e' bella Venezia quando e' freddo....

Rosa · 15/11/2007 13:19

As long as it is not damp it is lovely when its cold . I got married in Feb and had a fantastic day blue sky , sun , you could see the mountains. But when the damp comes in you cant take deep breaths its horrible. My pavimenti are cold in winter and cold in summer I have those foam puzzle things on the floor in the salotta as dd sits on the floor alot.
Mmmm so if med's dh works more in the summer that is another clue ....something in tourism ????

francagoestohollywood · 15/11/2007 13:26

ciao! brrrrr che freddo!
dd woke up with an earache yesterday night, but seems fine today. I'm bored and in a bad mood, for no reasons.

OP posts:
Rosa · 15/11/2007 13:37

Something must have made you in a bad mood - weather, things to do , move to Milan ???

francagoestohollywood · 15/11/2007 13:40

no weather's fine, it is cold but sunny.
probably the stiffneck and yes the thought of organizing the whole bloody moving

OP posts:
hotHELL · 15/11/2007 13:54

Find a nice book to read? Or is your dd around? I am on the sofa reading, looking at the sun outside, hot coffee beside me.
Are you ambivalent about moving?

francagoestohollywood · 15/11/2007 13:57

dd's around, bless her. I'd like to drink coffee and have a chat with an adult I like. Yes, I am ambivalent about moving.

Why are the Brits so worried about balconies and children? (see Sorrento thread) I have 2 and I've never worried about them ever. Gah! That's one thing that gets on my wick, excess paranoia.
