at too runny batter being totes nae

I’m going to do some baking with DS2 tomorrow. I cheat however and buy the ready mix things. Back in the day it was all Thomas The Tank Engine or Lion King cupcakes with the little rice paper decorations. Going to get a bag of a toffee flavour cake mix and some mini fudge chunks that I used for DS1’s birthday cupcakes but this time we’ll make a loaf out of it.

I’ve had a bath and read, and then a shower to wash my hair. No HBFs - selfish - so I only got clean rather than dirty and clean at the same time.

Hope the weather’s nice for your walk Fancy.

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 25/10/2020 16:06

Pancakes

Helped an elderly lady at the supermarket today, they had rearranged stuff and she was confused so I helped her find some stuff.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 25/10/2020 17:48

Evening - it's daaaaaaaaaaaaark Sad

We had a lovely walk on the beach this afternoon - no wind and warm and rather lovely. Smile

Shock at MiniFancy not wanting a cake. You should have one anyway Fancy - and then eat it yourself if she really doesn't want one Grin And pancakes too, of course.

LetUs - I agree. I also had no HBFs in my shower this morning. Selfish.

Well done Wicked - I know we should do good things just because that's a good thing to do. But the warm and happy feeling of actually doing good stuff is also very nice.

ApricotCrush · 25/10/2020 17:50

Evening. It's daaaaark. Sad As usual I had to get the instruction booklet out to do the clock on the oven. Why are they so complicated?

Anyway, I've been quite industrious for a Sunday as DH was playing golf with DS and SIL and I seem to get more done when he's out. Hmm

Ooo, pancakes. I cheat more than you LetUs and buy them ready-made. I think there are some in the freezer that I might get out.

That was nice of you WW. I hate it when they move stuff around.

Haha, x-post with Helen.

You shall have a shower of stars and HBFs in your shower Wicked.

That walk sounds lovely Helen.

We never change the clock on the oven. It goes off every time there’s a power cut round here, which don’t happen massively often but enough that we can’t be arsed to reset it.

We seem to have had football on for most of the day and now DH is watching Top Gear. And he’s commenting on nearly every single thing that happens, and not just commenting but phrasing them as questions to me. I’m not watching it, I don’t care, I’m not interested. I think I need another raspberry vodka.

FancyFancy · 25/10/2020 21:24

I have done all my clocks except the one in my car Grin

sadly I cannot bestow hbfs. the world is soooo unfair

Walk was lovely - quite warm, apart from the last bit when it got windy - and the colours were lovely in the trees.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 25/10/2020 21:47

Shock - ready made pancakes?! Where's the fun in that?

Ah bugger - we had a power cut -earlier I'm going to have to do the kitchen clock again, aren't I? Sad

We've been watching Groundhog Day Grin And now, because I'm knackered (It's all that fresh air earlier), I'm going to forget about the timeshift and head for the hayloft.

LetUsPrey · 25/10/2020 22:52

The walk sounds like it was lovely Fancy. 🍁

I make pancakes once a year in February. Other than that, we buy them. This is because I’m not quite lazy Grin

We’ve watched Prodigal Son and I’m now watching a bit of Midsomer Murders.

LetUsPrey · 26/10/2020 08:07

Morning wenches.

Absolutely tipping it down here.

Plan is breakfast, change bedding, baking, homework, ironing. Hopefully that’ll all be done this morning. Afternoon is not much at all.

FancyFancy · 26/10/2020 08:56

Morning
Well it was very sunny here, but now it's clouding over. And I have a load of washing on Hmm. Working at home today, so at least I'm around to do the laundry hokey cokey if needed.

It was a lovely walk letus, glad I made the effort as you have to take advantage of the nice weather now. Plus I need the exercise - you'll be glad to know I was puffing up the hills helen Grin

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 26/10/2020 11:23

Morning. Is sunny here (hurrah!) and a bit windy so the washing is out on the line.

I've been out on my bike to see FriendWithHorses this morning so now I'm a bit knackered from the combination of biking and horse maintenance. I think I shall just lie on the sofa and wait for the HBFs to revive me

Must remind DS about his homework... I'm sure he'll be very grateful Hmm

ApricotCrush · 26/10/2020 16:42

Afternoon. April showers here. Had to dive out to rescue the washing from a downpour, sunny 10 minutes later. Confused

Well done with the clocks Fancy. We're still half and half as usual which is very confusing.

I spent too many years slaving over pancakes every February Helen, so I can't be bothered now. Same goes for mince pies and Christmas cake and any other cake.

Hope LetUs got everything done and had a restful afternoon.

How's Frasan WW?

LetUsPrey · 26/10/2020 19:10

Hope the weather wasn’t too bad for Helen and Fancy where it at least started off sunny, and your periods of sunshine lengthened Apricot. It has lashed it down for most of the day here.

Did the HBFs revive you Helen? And yes, I’m sure MiniHelen will be super appreciative when you remind him about homework.

Did everything I’d intended to do —except for HBFs—. Toffee loaf is delicious, got a couple of loads of washing done, all ironing done, and even did a bit more of my knitting. DS2 did unfortunately get upset when doing some homework this morning with the usual anger and shouting, etc. It ended with him coming to me in the kitchen, sobbing, and then me cuddling him on the settee whilst he calmed down. My poor boy Sad. Sent the forms back to the paediatrician last week and the school have sent theirs back too so it’s more waiting.

Hope Frasan’s okay Wicked.

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 26/10/2020 20:38

Poor DS2 Letus Sad

Fräsan seems fine, full of energy, but she did puke up some cat food today, so I'm keeping an eye on her.

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 26/10/2020 21:01

Do Brits travel abroad anything? It's school holiday this week and apparently lots of people think it's a geat idéa to fly to Spain. While the virus is starting to spread again here in Sweden Confused

LetUsPrey · 26/10/2020 21:07

That’s good re Frasan.

As far as holidays are concerned, I only know for our area which is don’t travel. DS2 can’t go anywhere anyway. Obviously otherwise I’d have taken him to the park - for a swim 🌧 🌧 🌧

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 26/10/2020 21:20

Evening all.

I have done... shopping. That's about it. The washing got done, and DH put it out on the line Shock but then I had to whisk it back in due to weather. Hope that Fancy had better luck with hers.

Poor miniLetus Sad and poor LetUs because it's all just shit. Wine ]gin] and HBFs all round. (though not for miniLetUs, obvs.)

This evening we watched Jason Bourne, which I didn't know existed, but was pretty much the same as all the other Bourne films. Fun though.

Having sworn off Ebay, I've listed more stuff - I found a bag of various washable nappies, so listed them. Came to the last one, tried to list it and got the following message:
This product may be sold only by sellers with a business account, due to concerns that inflated prices for these products may violate applicable laws or regulations
Confused I was trying to sell one nappy for £1. I'm not sure how this might inflate the price of the product Confused

I think some people are travelling wicked, but no-one that I know. There has been some travel within the UK, depending on what's allowed.

Pancake tip - slave over them when you're the only on in the house - then you are selfish get all the benefit. Or maybe leave enough batter for other people and then they are grateful, AND you've already eaten your fill - everyone's happy. I have it down to a fine art - one gets eaten (by me) while the next one is cooking - it's a veritable production line of face-stuffing. Cooking them for other people is very tedious in comparison.

LetUsPrey · 27/10/2020 07:36

Morning wenches. That’s a bit bonkers re the eBay thing Helen. Are you trying to start a nappy empire? Admittedly they must think you’re starting very very small with just the one.

I’d be willing to help with the pancake theory. I’ll wait outside the kitchen door and you can shout me in when “oh look there’s enough batter for a few pancakes” and I shall be grateful for your kindness Grin. I shall express my gratitude in advance.

It’s raining again but I’ll be at work. DH is off for the rest of the week so I’m hoping he’ll paint the kitchen.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 27/10/2020 07:48
Grin

Morning all. Is Was sunny and when I got up and fed chickens, but is now apparently clouding over. It's not allowed to rain until lunchtime though, since DS is being detatched from his laptop to go out and about.

FancyFancy · 27/10/2020 12:15

Lots of rain here, need to venture out for lemons for the pancakes. And to rescue the last of yesterday's washing from the line.

DD not awake yet Grin so Operation Isolation Birthday yet to start.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 27/10/2020 15:39

Aw - Happy Birthday to miniFancy Cake [pancakes] Wine [presents] Flowers
Would she like Glitterball Dragon Tardis ??

It's peeing down here now - not very heavy, but persistent and occasionally being swept past the window in sheets of rain when the wind gets gusty. [brrr]

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 27/10/2020 16:06

Angry MN - I typed [ cake ] (thought without the spaces) Why are you still giving MiniFancy unwanted cake? Oh well, I'll eat it instead #Thoughtful

ApricotCrush · 27/10/2020 17:16

Afternoon. Sunshine and showers again. I did a bit of tidying up in the garden as it's bin day tomorrow.

Oh, poor DS2 LetUs. Sad It's such a worry when they're not happy.

I can't think why anyone would want to go in a metal tube that circulates everyone's germs at the moment WW. Glad Frasan's alright.

FFS re eBay Helen.

Happy Birthday to MiniFancy. Cake Flowers
