And I was talking to some random people trying to describe some geology-based tv 'drama' he'd been in, which my brain had completely made up for the dream but also failed to remember very well for describing it to random people. And the Beckhams where there (in person - not on the radio) wanting a threesome with me WTAF was my subconscious on?!

Today's excitement was tidying the mess on top of a chest of drawers, and my jewellery drawer. I had a bit of a moment when I couldn't find my engagement ring, but then I found it, so all's good.

Raining again. It’s forecast to be very heavy rain today, although we’re very lucky round here in that we don’t seem to have serious problems with flooding.

Cocktails and a binge watch and spending time together sounds an excellent way to spend FancyDD’s birthday.

No doubt DS2 will have another good day, which is great for him, because DH is off with him —and I made sure that most of the homework was done already— . Important thing is that he’s relaxed though.

Morning all. Dry here at the moment, but rain is forecast (not sure how much). I have to get out the house to take DS out for SportingActivityDay. That means I also have to chivvy up DS to get him out of the house. He still hasn't done homework.

Spent a good chunk of the morning on a call with a client - may get back to the work I need to get done this afternoon.

There was a disappointing lack of Suarez in our binge watch - mostly stern lurking & the occasional grumpy utterance after being thwarted again.

DH is having troube with his motorised golf trolley which he's spent all day trying to mend. He seems to think I need to know exactly how it works down to the finest detail and keeps giving me updates about how the repair is going. I'M NOT INTERESTED!!!

Glad the birthday went as well as could be expected under the circs Fancy, DS2 is feeling more relaxed LetUs and that the engagement ring turned up Helen.

I once lost mine and had the house apart with no success. About six weeks later the police phoned me (I'd put an advert in the local paper) to say they had it. A lovely man had found it IN THE GUTTER outside the post office and taken it to the police. This was in the days when we actually had police stations and they actually followed up on stuff like this. I have no idea how it came off but I've never been so grateful. He didn't want the reward I'd offered, but I made him have it.

Evening all. Miserable day here, though not as bad where DS was as at home, so he wasn't a completely drowned rat when I picked him up. I have been mostly tidying again. Not terribly effectively, but there we go.

Oh dear apricot - it is tedious when the manshapes insist on providing all the details about things you don't care about. DH does that regularly and I swither between trying to look interested and just being massively irritated by the interruption

Hope that Fancy managed to get the work done that was on her list and LetUs has had an ok day (I'd wish for a good day, but let's keep things realistic) and the Wicked has had lots of cat cuddles and the jigsaw is in one piece!

To top off a fairly crap day, DS1 has text. They have to isolate as someone in their flat has tested positive for Covid. But they’ve not been told how long for/when isolation starts. Top. Thankfully he’s feeling okay but his food stocks are a bit low.

FFS at indefinite isolation LetUs. It's not hard for them to work out how long and then tell him and the rest of the flat how long to isolate.

Best take all the HBFs up to the hayloft to improve the day.

If you want a giggle, I found a MysteriousSubstance dribbling down my wardrobe today. It was white, and it felt a bit greasy. DH keeps some toiletries up there, including a bottle of hand cream. I sniffed it and decided that it was the handcream (which has been moved). So I wiped it off and rubbed it into my hands. All I can say, is that it turned out to be a deodorant which was very resistant to washing off my hands Still. my hands smelled quite nice And the deodorant is in the bin.

I'm having a bath and early night...
