I have had a long hot soak in that bath. DH and DS are watching Hunger Games. DS seems to be providing an audio commentary I've seen it before, so I'm in the room next door so I can surf in peace and in the light.

Today we have been out for a very squelchy and rather chilly walk, I have dug further into the water table (and still no end to the down-pipe) and ordered a stirrup pump to drain the hole (temporarily). There has also been more cooking and eating. And chocolate.

Had an early night last night as had spent most of the day sneezing and blowing my nose which is strangely tiring. I think I’ll follow your example this morning Helen, with the bath not digging for the end of a down pipe, and then woohoo ironing.

No plans today. The garden's got patches of standing water again, and I've just remembered a plan for a socially distanced dog swim walk with a friend this afternoon.

Bath was had, washing done, ironing done, Christmas Ghosts watched which was beautiful and funny, Seeing Bee watched too.

I plan to do even less than that for the rest of that if it’s possible.

Nothing to report really. Cooking Turkey Surprise, which is pretty much the same as we've had on the last two days. We haven't got round to Turkey & Chips or Turkey Curry yet, but we will.

We have apparently finished the ham but some turkey remains. And there’s some rather nice cheese in the fridge too. It’s no wonder my jeans are a bit on the snug side.

Watched some of the Sound of Music and had dress envy over most of the Baroness’s wardrobe and Maria’s wedding dress.

We have snow! DS2 has been outside building a snowman to act as goalkeeper. However, the snowkeeper appears to have been on the receiving end of some harsh tackles and he is no more.

No plans for today other than washing (again - I swear I’m doing more than one household’s laundry). I suspect chocolate will feature at some point but for now I’m watching Cinderella with DS2.

Morning. We have sunshine. Glad we don't have snow - I think we're forecast to be dry for the rest of the week. Fingers crossed (all weather reports are being seen thought the filter of "What will that do to my drains?") (In related news, next door are having their septic tank and soakaway pumped out at the moment. Bucolic bliss. Am considering hijacking the tanker to do ours as well!)

Hurrah though, rapidly followed by mourning for the snowkeeper. Maybe BBC could film that for next Christmas :D

Hope everyone has a good day. I was going to do some work, but DH has pointed out that it's still a bank holiday, so I feel fully justified to ignore my inbox. We have no plans. Maybe another walk. Our local one is wet but has't been busy with OtherPeople. I heard via Facebook that one of Fancy's haunts got shut for being too busy yesterday. Maybe it's no bad thing that all roads into our village have been flooded!

Evening. We have snow too, loads of it. I was going out to get a birthday card for nephew's DS, but did it online instead. According to the local FB pages the roads round here have been horrendous.

Ah, I forgot it was a Bank Holiday too, all days being the same to me, but that explains a query with my bank account.

I’ve had a bath with a rather large Pimms which seems to have temporarily dealt with some looming feelings of anxiety, and I’m now looking for some new jigsaws. Think DH and I will watch the first episode of Black Narcissus tonight.

Rainy and dark here, been so for a long time, just want to hide in bed and wait for spring. Also blobbing which doesn't help.
Had the car washed today and they also discovered that one of the low beam headlights and the parking light didn't work I had no idea. Feel kind of stupid. I'm doing the MOT next week so that would have been fun

I'm working two more days and then I have eleven days off in a row Can't wait for this year to be over!

Evening. We have watched 'I Robot'and then I watched another livestreamed Mischief Theatre thing. Am enjoying the chaos and silliness.

Then I went downstairs to join the manshapes and got winged at for turning the light on, so I have come back upstairs to sulk, because I'm grown-up and mature like that. (DS did come upstairs to try and placate me, so he gets more brownie points than DH.) I may do some hoovering. (The cats are weaving their hair into the bedspread.)

Otherwise there has been much eating, phone & Zoom calls & some drinking. In bruise watch, a most intriguing pattern of bruising - kind of a right angle across my arse & up to the base of my spine. I'm not sure I've ever seen such dark purple! I'm amazed nothing's seized up frankly

It was that place Fancy - the main car park at least. And 'ouch' re the bruise. (I bounced off the corner of the kitchen worktop yesterday, but have the most insignificant little bruise to show for it. Odd.) Sounds like a nice few days though.

DH wouldn't sing along with anything, except maybe the Barmy Army if he was pissed.

FancyMan loves singing - can't shut him up I'm much quieter, except on my own.

I had some lovely cheese the other night but it turned out to be evil cheese because I then had indigestion. This was obviously due to the cheese being evil and not because I’d eaten more of it than I should —along with everything else—

Work today. Don’t particularly want to leave the house. Roads look very icy but it’s okay because DH told me to “just take it easy”. Thanks. I was planning on screeching along the roads like I usually do but now you’ve said that, I’ll go carefully . Love him to bits but aaarrrggghhh.

Morning. I had a HBF dream! Musketeer outfits and everything!!!!!!!!!!! Except that was then followed up by a bonkers anxiety dream (moved, couldn't find house, lost my shopping, ranting phone calls from people I didn't know) and now I recall nothing about the HBF dream. Arghhhh. Sodding subconscious.

As suspected, roads were fine as soon as I got to the main road but I really don’t like that noise the tyres make when you’re driving over snow. But I drove carefully as instructed to by DH because otherwise who knows what would have happened?

Can’t imagine that you were anything approaching inefficient Fancy. Hope you were able to get back to doing —HBFs— very little.

I have no expectations of an HBF dream recurrences. It's not like they're common, so hardly going to appear on demand. Though I live in hope.

I can't imagine Fancy being inefficient either - other than as caused by other people being inefficient. I, on the other hand, am fantastically brilliant at inefficiency. If it made money, I would never need to work again

I’ve seen parts of the Hunger Games films but don’t think I’ve seen any all the way through. I think we’ve got them on DVD but I don’t know why.
