I did the big shop today - had to queue to get in, but not for long. Hopefully now have enough to last well after Brexit especially booze and cheese

Spent most of today trying to sort out more financial stuff on a file that a partner was asking for. Except I can’t complete it as there were loads of invoices missing from the file so crap knows where they’ve gone. I’ve had to request copies. And then I find out said partner doesn’t have an up to date invoice from someone else so I couldn’t have worked out the costs and sent the bill through anyway.

Before we had a cat flap, LetUsCat would miaow to go out the back, go out, miaow to come back in because it was raining, then go to the front door and miaow to go out there because obviously the weather would be different.

Inconvenient Cat is home with an inflamed bladder wall and a kidney in the early stages of failing Still, he seems fine in himself, apart from when I try to get antibiotics into him - when he is a bit grouchy. Also, they have shaved his sides to scan his kidneys, so he looks like he has carry-handles either side Going back in a week to check on progress.

Have just watched the Goes Wrong Nativity - tears of laughter...

Sounds just like ScaredyCat letus. Whereas FancyCat is an evil genius - she knows what the weather is like 24 hours a day without needing to look outside. She goes days without asking to go out except at fighting time when the weather's crap.

I think that, in a parallel universe, FancyCat would have a minion to open the fridge for her whenever she commands it. In fact, she would expect the minion to anticipate her every need and open it for her without needing to be commanded.

Dull and wet here. (I'd better go and check the drip-catcher - the leak has an annoying tendency to shift an inch or so either way, and avoid the pot it's dripping into!)

No good deed goes unpunished - went out to feed the birds this morning & slipped on the patio - ouch! Have a sore elbow and one sore butt cheek.

Got an update on my cottage today, broadband is being installed soon, and he's hired a company to do the bathroom extension. It's the plumbing part that delays everything, they have to dig for a septic tank and have to wait for spring to do that. So hopefully all will be ready in May 😀👍

We have had rain all day. So far I've unblocked one gutter, and unclipped another one because the downpipe is blocked beyond my reach and backed up with water (and if I unclip it, at least I control where the water comes down and can put a strategic bit of guttering down to direct water away from the house). FFS. I have got drenched and my even underwear is wet Tomorrow I shall try with the blocked downpipe again. I have visions of us digging time-team style trenches in the garden to find out where the blocked pipe is meant to go - worst case scenario is that the soakaway is full and we're stuffed.

Since my last post I've been outside/up ladders/hands in downpipes unclogging another downpipe, and making a heath robinson marble-run style contraption to take the water further away from the house - it is literal bog in one of the flowerbeds at the moment and it's still raining
