Evening. Boiler had one part replaced, but it wasn't expensive and had been in place since installation, so am not bothered about that.

Work was.....yes, well. My colleagues are lovely, so are many of my clients. Some are a right pain in the arse and manage to make things awkward for their own colleagues as well as us I have totally knackered myself the last couple of weeks to meet a deadline that has now been missed because of some queries from an overseas head office that could have been asked fucking weeks ago.

Mind you, one of the questions was particularly dim, so I did chuckle over that. Although mostly I swore. You are all surprised at that I know

Afternoon. Slept for most of the morning

Ds is supposed to be coming back on Monday, assuming a further negative test, so fingers crossed travel is possible.

Felt like crap yesterday, some problems with work. Also fucking hormones. Feeling better today. Shopped some essentials, like wine and also some Christmas presents. Met my new neighbor in the apartment under me and he seems nice so hope it works out well.

I'm just chilling on the couch now, watching RuPauls Dragrace.

Hurrah for sleeping most of the morning Fancy - I was got out of bed by a parcel for DH, which is ok because I think it's a Christmas present for me What lie-in I got wasn't very relaxing either because it was taken up by one of those 'there's someone in the house' dreams where I was convinced I was awake while I was still asleep and I kept waking up and falling asleep again, and someone was in the house! (Though obvs, it was just me and the cats)

Hoping to see the plant convergence this evening, head outside in 15 minutes and hope the clouds haven't come over...

I've seen the planets for the last few days, although they haven't fully converged yet. To be honest, they just look like an ordinary star unless I'm looking in the wrong place. Perhaps I need a telescope. Venus looked better earlier in the year.

DD hasn't had her result yet.

Yep, saw the planets. It was two stars next to each other Not sure I'll see them again with the weather forecast, but we'll see. DS has a telescope but we can never get it to work properly. So we just peered through binoculars and went 'hmm - stars...'

Hurrah for seeing the planets! I didn’t see them but am enjoying relating planets and constellations to the stories in Mythos

I think there’s probably a telescope that belonged to DS1 in our loft. Could never get that to work properly either.

Well I was going to head to the hayloft but the third Hobbit film’s on. Obviously I’ve barely ever seen it and don’t have it on DVD, so it makes sense to stay up and watch it. Mr Smirnoff may have influenced my decision.

Ah - that persuasive Mr Smirnoff... We watched The Godfather, so I can't comment on staying up to watch films.

This morning I am at SundayMorningSportingActivity which, in the new year, will be moving to alter in the morning and be a lot more sociable (in terms of the hours).

Usual washing and ironing extravaganza today. Really should start wrapping presents so I can do some doorstep drop offs.

I also did the bottle-bank run. Disturbingly large quantities of bottle to be thrown in - it doesn't feel like that long since I last did it, but I'm hoping I've just lost track of time, because that was a lot of bottles

And now I should be cooking, because food is a good thing to have on the table when it's time to eat.

The planets don't look any better. If that was the Star of Bethlehem I'm surprised the three kings found their way.

DD's covid test was negative. We're now waiting for the result of a test on DGS2. He was with a child last Monday who has tested positive and he had a high temperature yesterday, although he's a lot better today. Bit worrying as his Mum is asthmatic.

I haven't started wrapping presents yet, although I only have five to do. Most of them get the money I'm a lazy git. We don't bother with each other.

We watched Dark Materials live tonight. And now we have to wait for the next series. Bugger. DH has put SPOTY on now. Wonder if there's any chocolate within reach....? (answer: No. Bugger, again.) Stupid Cat is asleep on my, Inconvenient Cat is asleep leaning against me. I have my uses.

Didn’t get round to doing any drop offs, mainly because it was weeing it down. I’ve started wrapping presents but can’t find the gift labels - it’s a roll of those sticky labels - so I’ll have to get some tomorrow.

I could see queues outside Morrisons this morning on my way to work and NiceColleague said M&S was bonkers at just after 8am. Fun times.

I assume it’s cloudy here as it’s been raining all day and hasn’t stopped yet.
