Morning, working at home today as the boiler service is booked in. Hoping work may be a little calmer after yesterday - but probably not much as I need to catch up on all the work I should have been doing for the last week or so......

Waiting for DS's test results today

I didn't explain myself very well with regard to the days getting lighter Helen. The shortest day is the 21st, but it starts to get lighter in the afternoons from the 16th, although the mornings continue getting darker until 3rd January. Something to do with the tilt of the Earth's axis or some such.

Have you got an order of priority for the vaccine like we have here WW? There are 7 million to be done before we get invited, that's if everyone has it.

Well DS tested negative - yay! he has postponed coming home for a bit so he can get another test at the weekend, so still keeping everything crossed!

Had another fairly manic day at work - it's the usual last minute rush of 'can we get this done before Christmas?' and also, NamelessColleage who has an Office CreditCard. The whole point is that, when someone needs something paid urgently, you say "yes of course", and use the bloody thing. Not witter on about correct procedures and not wanting to use the the card. It's what it's bloody there for! FFAS. I don't expect to have to quote the rules at you to get it sorted.

To be fair (and less irritated) with AwkwardColleague said person is very process and rule orientated and I think gets a bit twitchy when asked to operate outside of their normal comfort zone.
