Morning wenches.

Well done on completing yesterday’s to-do list Helen

No more Mondays off so it’s ironing today. Also more DIY shop based discussions with DH. I am living my best life. Grin

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 06/12/2020 12:59

Boo for back to work on Mondays LetUs Sad

I have a cake in the oven, washing on the line, and another load in the machine, because we have sunshine again (we also had downpour earlier, but it's sunny for now.) We're going to go tree shopping later, once cake is done etc.

And after a quick phone call I may be going out for a socially-distanced-outside-rule-of-6-walk...

FancyFancy · 06/12/2020 14:12

It is a little late helen, but you know teens, most things suggested by mum are 'lame' & 'boring' Hmm trying to get them to try anything can be hard work. Even when it has Matt Baynton in it!

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 06/12/2020 16:38

This is true - we are the antithesis of cool. Unless we can introduce them to FAF-in-real life, of course, in which case we're aren't 'lame and boring' but 'embarrassing' Hmm Grin

In tedious domestic news, the washing is now draped round the house to dry, because sun, at this time of year, is no guarantee of warmth or drying, and there was sod all wind to help. We do have a Christmas tree now - outside in a bucket in the shed, having a good drink before it comes in. The cake is delicious though.

ApricotCrush · 06/12/2020 17:11

Evening. Bit miserable all day here, dark and gloomy.

Ooooooo Helen, you won't believe this. DH also had a heavy parcel yesterday - a car battery, the result of him not being able to start it the other morning. Spooooooky. Xmas Shock

We'll get round to watching Mank at some point. Yes, the Ruth Wilson thing is on Netflix I believe, but don't know when.

DH got the tree how he wanted it at last and I've dressed it, so that part is done.

He also wants a refund from Netflix as he slept through two episodes of Lucifer. Xmas Grin

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 06/12/2020 19:46

What happened to the weekend? Why is it Monday tomorrow already?

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 06/12/2020 19:51

On Saturday I baked pepparkakor (gingerbread thins) with mum, we both don't meet a lot of people so we thought it was ok.
Today I bought a new benchtop dishwasher and hauled it up the stairs, exhausting Confused Have to hire someone to install it and to fix all the other stuff.
I also had problem with the f-ing printer but that seems to be sorted now, hopefully.

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 06/12/2020 19:56

I thought that version of the mummy was a bit meh, Helen

Ooh, cake Smile

Grin at MrApes wanting a refund. I'm thinking of cancelling Netflix, there's nothing on that I want to see. The last season of Sabrina is on 31/12 so going to watch that, then I think I'll cancel it

LetUsPrey · 06/12/2020 20:23

mmmmmm - thanks Helen

also mmmmmmmm

I think the weekend has its own special laws of time.

Ooooooo at spooky coincidence of car battery parcels!

I have introduced DS2 to The Goes Wrong Show and DS1 to W1A. They have resisted everything else.

Not even really thought about getting the decorations down.

Checked plumbing place website for opening hours. It says 10-3. Managed to fit in a visit in between DH dashing about with DS2 and had to delay lunch. Got there to find actually it’s shut on Sundays. The opening hours sign confirms this. UPDATE YOUR WEBSITE PEOPLE!

Ironing done. Needn’t have been worried that DS2’s PE kit wouldn’t dry for tomorrow. Text from school about another positive case so his year to stay home on Monday, with updates to follow tomorrow. Can’t imagine how crap this is for the teachers too.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 06/12/2020 20:37

Ooooooooooooooohhh. That is spooky Apricot. Did MrA fit it today as well? DH fitted his, with much huffing and puffing (and dropping screwdrivers into the engine). We got a tree too - but it's sitting in a bucket in the shed.

And another ooooooooooooooh for pepparkakor - please send recipe Grin

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 06/12/2020 21:55

On nom nom, etc Grin I shall try to make some of those.

Early night for me I think. DH has snooker on and I'll be asleep on the sofa if I don't make a break for it...

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 07/12/2020 07:38

Morning. It's daaaaark. I haven't been outside yet, but I can see (through the gloom) and the roof of the shed is white, and everything's looking a bit chilly. And there are birds on the feeder looking expectantly at me through the window. (They're probably not, I just like to think that they are. They're probably thinking closer to 'bloody unreliable human, hasn't put the food out - let's go somewhere warmer')
Stupid cat has just installed herself on my lap.

Have a good day all. Especially LetUs on first Monday back.

LetUsPrey · 07/12/2020 07:57

Morning wenches. Well well well Monday at work, so we meet again. I shall run you through! Ha! Or I’ll just whinge about going to work on a Monday after I’ve been lucky enough to have so many Mondays off recently as leave. You know, either or.

I like to think the birds have little bird watches on Helen, and they’re pointing at them with their other wing saying “what the actual, where’s breakfast.” Grin

Must get breakfast and make sure DS2’s set up for the day.

ApricotCrush · 07/12/2020 16:44

Evening. Did a food shop this morning and other bits and pieces.

No Helen, he hasn't put the battery on. The car's in for a service on Thursday so he'll ask them to do it. He's got in on the charger when he's not using it until then.

Well done with manhandling the dishwasher WW. The pepparkakor look delicious. If I did any baking, which I don't, I would try them. Hmm

Hope LetUs's Monday has been alright.

FancyFancy · 07/12/2020 18:34

Those look delicious ww

I have been at FancyMan's for the night - we even went to the cinema today Shock, first time in months! Was nice to do something other than work.

That sounds so disruptive letus, we have several cases at DD's school too, plenty more self isolating, including quite a few staff now. Agree it must be awful for schools to keep going with everything changing all the time.

LetUsPrey · 07/12/2020 19:38

Evening wenches.

As Mondays go it wasn’t awful.

Oooo I miss the cinema. What did you see Fancy?

DS2 is off until next Wednesday. Sigh. As well as the big thing of him missing school, it’s little things like I was going to take him out for a new coat and missing his sportingactivity lessons. At least I have the peace of mind that DS1’s home with him.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 07/12/2020 20:34

Evening.

Touch wood, we haven't had any cases at DS' school. Yet.

Absolutely baltic here today. DS was out for a sports thing tonight, and the idiot child wouldn't wear a coat (because it was thin and 'wouldn't make a difference') and took his gloves off. It was freezing, literally. And of course then it was my fault that his hands were cold. Hmm And now he doesn't want to go again.

What a fab day Fancy - that sounds so nice and normal. I miss normal. Sad

Ho hum...

LetUsPrey · 07/12/2020 22:54

Obviously your fault Helen because you didn’t sew him into his coat and glue his gloves on. And probably for making the weather be so cold too.

Hayloft for me

FancyFancy · 07/12/2020 23:21

We saw Woman at War. It's Icelandic. And just a bit bonkers, iagw Grin

Infuriating isn't it Helen? teens really are like toddlers. Both have an aversion to coats and gloves.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 08/12/2020 07:58

Yes - absolutely to both of those. 'Teen as toddler' and I wish I did have control over the weather.
This morning I was allowed to put gloves in his schoolbag. Hmm 'Did he wear them though?' I hear no-one ask. No. No he didn't.

Outside is frosted white and misty again. The plants are lined in frost, and there is a wagtail on the bird table. I ought to go out and feed the chickens now, since Stupid Cat has just finished kneading and purring and has settled down looking very comfortable with her paws tucked under her Hmm

LetUsPrey · 08/12/2020 08:02

Morning wenches.

I looked that film up Fancy. Sounds interesting.

Muuuum my hands are cold. Did you put your gloves on that I put in your bag? No.

Chucking it down here.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 08/12/2020 08:09

Also, yes - that film looks good. I thin that adverts were popping up on my twitter feed for a while.

FancyFancy · 08/12/2020 13:07

Cold here too

I really need to start getting organised for Christmas

ApricotCrush · 08/12/2020 16:25

Afternoon, although it's daaaark.

I went to town this morning to get a few more things and there are roadworks everywhere, even in our road, ergo awful traffic. All the lights were against me and the roads here are appalling, potholes everywhere. I didn't get all I went for either. I wanted some individual Christmas cards and there were so many people in the shops, I couldn't get near the ones I wanted. Should have got them earlier.

Yes, slight panic setting in here too.

In TB news, his short called Blood Sugar is supposedly on Prime Video and Vimeo, but I can't find it on either. Confused
