Morning. It was dark, then I did stuff, and it got light. And now I'm working. Today is a day of interruptions and faffing about. Plus a side order of WTF is our electricity supplier doing. I'm currently on hold to find out why I've got an email saying my direct debit is cancelled and by the way, the new fixed rate that I signed up for a month ago is going to cost £50/year more now Hmm Angry FFS.

wicked - Shock Scary relatives! One of my friends has family in America who think that Trump is doing a brilliant job Shock She just rolls here eyes and say that 'You can't talk to them'. All sorts of crazy going out out there...

FancyFancy · 03/12/2020 13:35

Afternoon.
It's all Worky McWork here and frankly I'm bored with it all now. And myself Grin

That's the website apricot although with a different location for me, it's addictive.

I will definitely will be getting the vaccine ww - haven't seen my parents for over a year now. Literally. They don't even have internet, so no video calls. Although I'm also in the ninth grouping, so goodness knows when it will get round to me.

I think I'm the oddest in my immediate family Shock although they are relentlessly sensible, so that's not saying much.

Afternoon. I did have a better night thanks. Rain all day here and very dark. Sad

Poor DH. He had a GP appointment this morning and his car wouldn't start so he took mine. Got there and realised he didn't have a mask but noticed that one of mine was in the car. So he had to sit in the GP surgery with a pretty, flowery mask on, feeling very stupid. Grin

I'll have the vaccine without any hesitation WW. The anti-vaxers are out on our local FB page and I got a bit cross with one of them yesterday talking about aborted fetal cells and other DNA in it. I wouldn't try to persuade anyone to have it if they weren't happy, but she was trying to persuade people NOT to have it. How else are we going to get out of the desperate situation we find oursleves in? Angry Interesting article Helen.

Sorry you haven't been able to see your parents Fancy, I've been pretty lucky as the DC live fairly close and we were able to have garden meetings in the summer, although I haven't seen DS's GF and her boys since last Christmas. We also haven't seen DH's sister and her DH since February as they live over two hours away.

Hope LetUs has had a better day at work and people have pulled their weight a bit more.

I have a friend from school that is a fanatic about natural remedies, all thing medical is the Devil's work. We started hanging out a bit when I temporarily moved back to my old home town a few years ago and that was fun. But she's become so fanatic since then. I unfollowed her on FB because I just get angry. She can eat all the tumeric she wants but don't start giving advice on things you don't know anything about.

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 03/12/2020 17:19

Grin at MrApes flowery mask

LetUsPrey · 03/12/2020 20:57

Evening wenches.

Am Grin at MrApricot in the flowery mask. That’s cheered me up - sorry MrApricot.

Similar work situation Fancy. Lots of it but just got quite bored with it this afternoon. at not seeing your parents Fancy. And also same to you Apricot.

I am a fairly boring person. I am considered by my family as the slightly “out there” one.

Perhaps you could warm your hands up in some way Helen? Hmm, how could you do that? HmmGrin

Bloody well done at speaking up in that group Apricot. As you say, you wouldn’t be telling someone to have it if they were unsure, folk definitely shouldn’t be telling people not to have it Angry

Doubt she’d be rejecting medical treatment if she broke her leg Wicked.

Both DH and DS2 are being grumpy tonight so I may go for a bath.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 03/12/2020 21:00

Evening. It's dark again.

at MrA in the flowery mask. At least you had a spare one in the car.

Antivaxers should all be given a heft dose of tetnus/smallpox/measles etc, then locked in a room to get on with it.

FancyFancy · 03/12/2020 21:40

Sorry to hear you've been missing out on seeing people too apricot, it is bloody tough.

And Angry at the anti-vaxxers. FancyMan lives next door to one - spouts shit about micro chips and Bill Gates. Hilariously introduced herself as a lawyer. When asked whether she was a solicitor or barrister her reply was that she is in 'legal recruitment'

Shall we all play? I reckon that makes me, ooooh the Governor of the Bank of England? Chancellor? I'll spend my lunchtimes networking with my chum letus, the Attorney General Grin

She can eat all the tumeric she wants but don't start giving advice on things you don't know anything about. beautifully put ww!

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 03/12/2020 22:18

Given that you have an actual qualification in financial matters, I think you're setting your sights too low Fancy

Hayloft for me.... Friday tomorrow - hurrah!

LetUsPrey · 04/12/2020 07:16

Morning wenches. Friiiiiiiddaaaaaayyyyy!

I like that suggestion Helen. Also at WenchChancellor and WenchAG Grin. Helen’s right though - overqualified for position.

DS1 is coming home today! Hurrah! Been so excited all week about it but brain is now doing what it does best and is catastrophising. What if something goes wrong on the journey (DH is picking him up) etc? I tell myself it’ll all be fine and brain says fuck off, doooooommm. So that’s nice.

Have to work out what Christmas cards I need as I’m going to be brave tomorrow and go and buy them.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 04/12/2020 08:02

Morning. It's raining. But at least it's on the warmer side of cold, so I didn't need a coat to feed the rats chickens this morning. I emptied another 2 cm from the rain gauge and the wet weather has either brought the rats out of the sinking ship drowning garden or made their tunnels collapse, because there's about 3 holes opened up in the main chicken run. FFS. I don't like poisoning them (not least because, food chain for other beasties - though not the cats who fortunately have a strict kill-don't-eat policy for rats) but I think I'm gain to have to.

In other news I've had random heartburn for a lot of the morning. I'd go back to bed until it's time for work, but I'm not sure that lying down would be a good plan.

FancyFancy · 04/12/2020 08:30

Rest assured our policy agenda will be faf-focussed, with a firm commitment to ensuring the wenching needs of all are met efficiently and equitably.

We're not in a good place when a wench sounds more statesman like than our PM

ApricotCrush · 04/12/2020 16:57

Afternoon. I've been admining and ordering stuff online. Oh and we've got the Christmas stuff out of the loft so DH will no doubt spend the evening swearing at the tree lights. Hmm

All that Government stuff reminds me of the Kingdom of Burkovia and MrsB giving us all jobs. I was Work and Pensions, naturally. Grin

Eeek at the rats Helen and yay for DS1 returning home LetUs.

OP posts:
SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 04/12/2020 18:59

Grin I'd forgotten about Burkovia Apricot Good luck with the Christmas lights and grumpy MrA!

Nothing to report here....

Hope that DS1 is safely home LetUs

LetUsPrey · 04/12/2020 20:42

Evening wenches. DS1 is home! Grin Lots of hugs and even some chatting!

I suppose when nature’s struggling a bit Helen - with the rats - then one needs to step in and lend a hand?

Hope the heartburn cleared up quickly.

Loving the wench manifesto Grin

How’s MrApricot getting on with the lights?

LetUsPrey · 05/12/2020 09:45

Morning wenches.

I think we actually have some sunshine!

Usual Saturday excitement here with an added bonus of a visit to a plumbing merchants.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 05/12/2020 12:37

We have sun too! Shock First time for days.

I am going to mop the kitchen floor. Control your excitement.

DH has just had a very heavy parcel delivered. He's out. AIBU to open it? Grin tbh, it's probably not HBFs for me nothing exciting so I won't bother. The washing is nearly ready to go out though - be still my beating heart.

Actually, that should have been decorations of FAF in the sun, to celebrate the weather.

Oh no Shock - I'll have to post more pictures Grin
(then get the washing out)

ApricotCrush · 05/12/2020 16:50

Afternoon. We've had sun too. Smile

DH didn't do the lights last night, but is doing them now. I'm keeping out of the way. I can see that they're working but he says he can't get them how they were last year. Hmm

Well, we've caved and joined Netflix. We spent at least an hour getting it to work but I now have Lucifer back in my life I wish.

I now want to know what was in MrHelen's parcel.

OP posts:
SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 05/12/2020 17:48

Ah - the parcel. It was electrifying and provides a real buzz... It was a thoroughly unexciting new battery for his car.

Netflix? You can watch Mank too then Apricot Grin I think that new one with Ruth Wilson may be on Netflix too, but I'm not 100%

Anyways, the floor is mopped, the washing is drying (had to whisk it back in due to rain) and I think I did something else that was on my list but I'm not sure. #5SecondMemory

LetUsPrey · 05/12/2020 19:23

I have done washing. I have also been out with DH to a plumbing merchant because it’s been a while since we had a shop based home improvements —argument— discussion. He then dropped me in the town centre so I could go and buy Christmas cards and then walk home (because I wanted the exercise not because we’d fallen out). Have just had a bath and continued with Mythos.

Oooooo at Lucifer being ready and available for you Apricot - there’s a thought.

Gosh what a lovely sunny day Helen

FancyFancy · 05/12/2020 20:06

Evening
Have been out for a bit of shopping. Must get the main stuff sorted this weekend

yay for DS1 being home letus Smile

I introduced DD to Ghosts last night - prepping for the Christmas Special!

LetUsPrey · 05/12/2020 20:10

Top parenting there Fancy

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 05/12/2020 21:22

Hmm Isn't that rater a belated introduction Fancy? Still, better late than never.

We've just been watching a remake of the Mummy. Which seemed a bit odd since the last version wasn't that long ago? This version has Ninon being the love interest, but not having a proper on-screen snog* with Tom Cruise. Probably been spoilt for life by snogging Athos.

  • Admittedly, I wasn't in the room the whole time, so I may have missed one.

I have also just finished sewing, so I think I've done everything that I had planned for today Shock. I've either been unusually productive, or (more likely) been more realistic in my 'to do' list for today Grin
