Damp and misty and generally meh. Poor DS is full of the cold, but, weirdly, has insisted on dragging himself off to school. I'm not sure they'll be entirely grateful for his presence, but there we go.

Poor DS helen - hopefully school won't be over cautious & send him home to self-isolate! So far DDs school has been sensible & although some were told not to come in with colds, they weren't automatically assuming it was COVID.

Another positive test at work and more sent home to isolate just in case. Thing is they’re all working from home but need support in the office to physically do stuff, and at the moment that’s just me. Ah well.

Hopefully tonight I won't have stressy anxiety dreams about my car getting broken into while accidentally parked in a disabled space and then being in a foreign country and unable to find the place I was meant to be staying or where I was meant to meet people, or the right train/tramline that would get me there. Bloody exhausting.

In last night's substandard effort by my subconscious, next-door-neighbour had a burial plot in her garden specifically for people who wouldn't stay dead unless their heads were chopped off They didn't seem to be a problem really, (on a scale of toddler wrangling - "Go back to your room grave, you're dead!" "Just ignore her, she's showing off dead.") but I did have to carry a headless corpse at one point. and FFAS.

News should be read to us by HBFs, then at least we could enjoy the view/sound without having to listen to the actual words.

Today I have got price-up a freelance job, which is good, because -work! But also bad, because I hate pricing jobs up - it's 'how long is a piece of string' territory. BUT, it sounds like a really fun/interesting project, so even if I underprice, I'll enjoy myself.

Oh FFS MN - there was NO other message this morning when I posted. I even refreshed the page to make sure.

DS is still coughing and snuffling and croaking in an entirely unattractive
'pre-teen-with-a-cold' way, but there was no 'I don't want to go to school'-ing, so that's good.

I have priced up my potential new project and am keeping my fingers crossed. (Though not as 'squee' as if HBGFs are involved, because they're not, unfortunately.) And a friend has asked me to proof-read some documents, at 'mates rates'. i.e. Free. "There's not much..." she said, as she attached 12 documents to the email. Oh well. It is for a Good Cause, so I shall suck it up...

In the meantime, I'm going to go to the shops and buy frivolous luxuries like break and milk...

I nearly was able to start work on a client earlier than expected. But no. Am having to pick up some work that someone else had said they would do

Afternoon. Quite a nice day, but rather cold. It's my Mum's anniversary, so we went a walk around the crem which was pleasant but also a bit depressing.

My car has failed its MOT. Waaaaaah! Apparently there is a cut in one of the tyres which now has to be replaced. They are not easy to get as the car is so old and DH hasn't been able to find anyone who supplies them locally, so in order to keep them the same I have to have two new ones. Another waaaaah!

Helen that dream is horrific. It sounds like one of mine. But good luck for freeelance job.

To be fair to said person, they did arrive back in the office late on & we agreed to split the work . I was going to say 50:50, but I seem to have allocated myself a little less

I still haven't forgiven the software that did something very weird - changed some figures from last year & then gave us some error messages about it. Anyway, I managed to find a work around overrode a load of stuff & all looks fiiiiine now. Just remember this fact for next year wenches, you can remind me of it when I puzzle over where the hell did I get these figures from last year
