Evening. I've had another mind-bending day designing spreadsheets "We want one that does everything..." Hmm It's getting there, but it's hurting my head.

I was trying to help tidy the house with Dad a few day ago - there are literally boxes of wool Confused. I decided that combining the 5 different boxes into two big ones was a good start, and left it at that. Maybe you could use some of your wool on knitting hats and scarves for refugees/homeless people, or something like that apricot? Then you'll have contributed the wool to a good cause and you will have to buy more wool to make things for yourself. Grin

Sympathies on the plumbing woes wicked

Hope that Fancy and LetUs have had decent days at work with no idiot colleagues creating extra work.

LetUsPrey · 13/11/2020 20:06

Evening wenches.

That’s a great idea for using wool Helen, and as you say then buy more to make something else Grin

What’s the update on that other property Wicked?

Work was better than yesterday, although that’s not saying much. Still, done for the week and off again on Monday.

The washing machine is beeping at me and I’ve also not done my physio exercises.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 13/11/2020 21:40

We've just watched Mischief Theatre doing 'socially distanced restaurant date' on Children in Need Grin

LetUsPrey · 14/11/2020 00:10

Sounds like something DS2 would enjoy Helen. I’ll see if it’s on iPlayer.

I stupidly started watching a film about an hour or so ago and I’m still up.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 14/11/2020 08:12

Morning

LetUsPrey · 14/11/2020 10:24

Morning wenches.

Thanks for the Brew Helen. And for the HBFs. Took ages to get to sleep when I did go to bed.

Hope the rain’s stopped for you Helen.

I’ve got stuff to do but my brain won’t let me know what the stuff is. I think it’s still asleep Grin so I’m watching Midsomer Murders for the moment.

LetUsPrey · 14/11/2020 15:39

Been out and bought a new vacuum cleaner as our other one has broken. Tried to fix it but nope. Done various household bits and bobs. Am eyeing up the bottle of Pimms but it’s rather early.

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 14/11/2020 16:14

I just ordered a new dishwasher Letus. Exciting!

Haven't heard anything new about my cottage but will probably be ready april/may. I did a search online and it looks like the broadband is on it's way.

Soon time for Wine

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 14/11/2020 16:41

Ooooooooooooooooh! Lots of domestic purchases. What makes have people got?

It didn't/hasn't stopped raining today, so I wimped out on horses. I did go up in the loft, and fixed my bike, so that was good. I had to find instructions online for the bike because I didn't know how to get the wheel off (new fangled bike with weird brake set-up), but managed it - Star for me Grin then when I got to the actual easy part of dunking the inner tube in a bowl of water, DH decided to stand over me and tell me how to do it, Hmm I'm sure he thought he was helping, but FFS - if I can get a wheel off then I've done the hard bit. I don't need babysitting to find/fix a puncture. I may have been a bit snappy with him. Hmm

ApricotCrush · 14/11/2020 17:13

Afternoon. Horrible day here, dark and chucking it down.

No domestic purchases, but the car is looking very fancy with two new tyres and my purse is £120 lighter. Hmm

Yes Helen, sometimes there is an appeal on the local FB page for stuff to be knitted so I'll look out for that. Very well done with the bike repair. Star

Wine for those in need.

Lots of rain here too and just urgh.

Gone for another Vax so it’s charging up now.

Just had a Pimms. Skål Wicked! Seems good news re the new place.

Very well done on the loft and the bike repair Helen. How very terribly helpful of MrHelen Hmm Perhaps he can have a look at the problem with the ermmm.. the walls in the dungeon. Yes, off you go MrHelen.

Good that your car’s fixed Apricoy but eeeek at ££

Just going through the channels and I’ve come across Dirty Dancing. I think that was the first video I ever bought.

LetUsPrey · 14/11/2020 18:03

Hungry Eyes montage and Patrick Swayze’s got his top off. I’m having a flashback to the late 80s when I was sweet and innocent Grin

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 14/11/2020 18:35

I was too Letus Halo

Fixed my car a couple of weeks ago, almost £400. Dishwasher £300, water tap thingy probably £100, hiring a plumber?££££
Ah well, it's not like I'm spending anything on travels Hmm
Watching The Crown, first season, I think it's a bit boring.

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 14/11/2020 19:56

All Creatures Great & Small starts tonight. Might give it a go. My most vivid memory from the original series was that the vet got offered food at all the places he went to and in the end had to vomit. Was it something with pork and mustard? Can't really remember.

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 14/11/2020 20:12

Or wasit another show?

FancyFancy · 14/11/2020 20:21

Evening
Had yesterday off, so went for a walk with FancyMan & have spent the time since trying to summon up the enthusiasm to ebay some stuff

Also tried to fix the slow draining sink, but seem to have made it worse Confused

Sounds promising about the apartment ww

Yay for having the car fixed apricot. About all that surplus wool - maybe you could knit an appropriate outfit for that godawful nude statue for Mary Wollstonecraft? Grin

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 14/11/2020 20:37

Nude? Yep, that seems logical Hmm

LetUsPrey · 14/11/2020 21:29

It’s annoying when a lot of spendy things all happen at once.

Is that the new version of All Creatures Great and Small? My nice colleague likes that. She particularly likes Samuel West.

No advice re sink Fancy, other than have you checked whether anyone has put half a tub of cotton wool buds down the plug hole?

That statue very much comes under the heading of “what the fuck were they thinking?”

Bill Bailey is still epic in Strictly.

I’ve had a couple of Pimms and am falling asleep.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 14/11/2020 21:34

Bugger, I lost a post. Oh well. I think was reminiscing about Dirty Dancing, and sympathising with Apricot's car expense. I think that's trumped by Wicked's though Confused

And yes wicked - that sounds like All Creatures Grin Yorkshire cooking....

Sounds like a very nice days yesterday Fancy - do you want to borrow my super mario mega plunger for your sink?! And oh god, yes. That awful statue Confused Utterly WTAF?!

We've been watching Suicide Squad, and actually it was good fun. I was dubious given the reviews, but we all enjoyed it for the mindless entertainment that it was.

I've been sewing this evening. Well, I say sewing, but tbh it was sewing and unpicking and resewing in equal measures. . In other news of 'things we have to sort out', one of our new windows is leaking, but I think it may be the pointing outside is letting water through the wall, rather than the window itself. But it's not just a repointing job - oh no. It's 'removing the gutters and the bargeboard and then repointing...' Nothing is ever bloody simple!

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 14/11/2020 21:45

Yes Letus, the new version. It was nice Smile

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 14/11/2020 22:06

Mystery solved. He was served bacon wich was almost only fat at breakfast and he had to cover it with piccalilli (?) to be able to eat it Grin

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 14/11/2020 22:07

Thank you Google Grin

FancyFancy · 14/11/2020 22:21

Quite, there's nothing a feminist icon hankers after more than to be commemorated using the naked female form FFS. I mean JFC. I may be quite cross about this.

It doesn't do to be grumpy on a Saturday night though, so here's some wench-approved nudity/scantily-cladness ......

FancyFancy · 14/11/2020 22:23

Oh god that rings a bell ww - we used to love that series when I was a kid

LetUsPrey · 15/11/2020 09:16

Morning wenches.

Good luck with the sewing Helen. That’s a bugger about the pointing that’s not just pointing.

I like a bit of fat on my bacon but just no with the piccalilli.

It’s weeing it down here so I’m going to imagine I’m lying somewhere warm with one/all of the HBFs you posted Fancy.

More washing today but first I’m going to watch Secret Scotland whilst I eat my breakfast.
