Afternoon. Nice weather here, we've been sitting outside and doing sudokus and eating Magnums. Lovely until someone up the road decided to share their thumpy music with us. Angry

Six years. We have some lovely memories, don't we?

Grin at Livestock Adventures and InconvenientCat's Intransigence. That would make a good book or TV programme.

LetUsPrey · 02/08/2020 18:56

I was going to say the same thing Apricot Grin Livestock Tales - The Adventure of

It’s similar here Apricot. You can sit and have some peace and relax and then some dick will assume the entire sodding street wants to listen to their music. Or like the guy near us who starts his angle grinder or whatever it is every fucking morning. He’s been doing it for ages. I can only assume he’s building a replica of the Eiffel Tower.

I had a lovely bath this morning, did the other stuff except for paint calculation and then watched some tv.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 02/08/2020 20:40

Evening.

Did lots of garden stuff - also to the tune of someone else's bass thumping in the distance. But mostly the the noise of whatever sport DH was listening to on the radio. I have to say, 'sitting outside and doing sudokus and eating Magnums' sounds a wonderful way to spend time. My garden time involved digging and pulling stuff up and general garden tidying.

So at noisy neighbours, and also at Eiffel Tower - wasn't that a Tav position including blue cardis? Or was that the Wigwam?" #confused. I'll get Athos to explain/demonstrate for me. Grin Six years of fun indeed. Oh god... I've just looked at the first ever [[https://www.mumsnet.com/Talk/am_i_being_unreasonable/2003777-To-not-know-who-from-the-Musketeers-Id-boff-first? thread]] and I'm sniggering away all over again Grin Oh happy days... (when I was shy and retiring and just lurked for 11 threads Grin )

In other news, I really need a bath - as well and getting all hot and sweaty in bed with Athos the garden we also had a bonfire so I stink of smoke.

LetUsPrey · 02/08/2020 22:17

I think we may have mentioned Eiffel Tower, definitely wigwam with cardis. Lucifer mentions Eiffel Tower in an early episode which made me Grin at the time so yes, I think we must have done.

I was fairly definite in my declaration on that thread Grin

LetUsPrey · 03/08/2020 08:16

Morning wenches.

Quite cloudy here but no rain yet.

DS1 has —beyond grudgingly— gone with DH to work. Didn’t want to go because it’s “boring”. We’ve explained that he’s getting paid and sometimes unfortunately a job is boring, and what sort of job does he think he might get to get through university (if he gets in)? Better than this one apparently. Also shouldn’t he be earning money where he can? Doesn’t get it.

I’m doing the exercisething today. Can’t really be arsed but I need to keep it going —even though I’m still not seeing any results—

FancyFancy · 03/08/2020 10:01

Morning
DS back home, so washing machine is on

Have been reading that thread while eating breakfast, fabulous Grin
Will be heading out later to see FancyMan, although the windscreen repair people may be able to come out a day early to fix the chip, so not sure what time yet

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 03/08/2020 11:14

Morning. Sunny here, but lots of big grey-ish clouds. Washing machine is also on here and there are unpleasantly whiffy smells coming from the sink. Note to self: don't check the outside drain while the washing machine is on... Confused I think I need to clean out the Ubend tbh, and maybe run a 90% wash through the machine. Exciting stuff!

I think that DCs get nothing LetUs - DS has a list of three things to do daily, to earn a new computer game. So far he's forgotton one copletely (yesterday) and whinged about one of them today. FFS. I should add a 4th thing - stop pushing back at agreed boundaries. (Apparenlty, 10am is early to be getting dressed.Hmm Yesterday - the cancelled plan? He had the option of the planned activity, or if he didn't do that, then one of two alternatives. He chose an alternative that he'd enjoy less than the planned one, simply because it would take less time and he'd be back at the x'box sooner. FFAS. I mean, there's a logic in there, but it's bloody warped.

I've got a teensy bit of work to do, and the washing machine has just finished. Laters.

LetUsPrey · 03/08/2020 11:56

Enjoy the day/afternoon with FancyMan. Hope your windscreen gets fixed quickly.

Washing on here too.

A 90° wash Helen? You teasing devil you! Keeping things hot

You’re absolutely right re DC. Why don’t they think logically? I mean obviously we all did that as children. I’d have hoped DS1 might have twigged at this age - you want stuff, you earn the money, you buy it. You want things to happen, you organise it.

Washing machine is beeping away and DS2 is asking for lunch. I’ve remembered I’ve got left over homemade pizza for my lunch so that’s cheered me up no end!

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 03/08/2020 16:24

I made couscous for lunch - thrilling stuff. It's not pleasant when it goes down (and up) the wrong way though Confused. And I've had two loads of washing go through the machine. (Do try to control your excitement.) Plus I need to plan/pack for an outdoors/social distancing mini-break at the end of the week.

Hope that Fancy's windscreen has been fixed - that's always a pain.

Also - the very first thread... Aramis in the church. Would that be very very wrong? Oh LetUs Grin Grin Grin

LetUsPrey · 03/08/2020 17:57

Three washes done, two beds changed, washing up done. Two episodes of another Simon Reeve programme watched Grin

Ah yes, Aramis in the church. Wrong but also right

ApricotCrush · 03/08/2020 18:05

Evening. I've had the excitement of a Sainsbury's shop this morning. Hmm

Oh, that first thread. Grin I didn't join until May because until episode 8 I hadn't really noticed any of them in particular, but the alley snog discombobulated me and I had to go back and watch the whole thing again. Then I started googling and arrived at MN. By that time there were dozens of threads and I had to read them all to catch up before I dared to post. Trouble was they moved so fast that it took me weeks. Confused

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 03/08/2020 19:03

Back to work today, really could use a bit more time off.
I think I joined in june, after googling "horny weirdos" and ended up at MN Grin. I never managed to catch up with the threads.

LetUsPrey · 03/08/2020 19:40

Here’s to Athos discombobulating Apricot in an alley. Wine

Also hurrah for googling! Can’t believe your holiday’s already over Wicked.

I’ve got a Poirot on. There’s just been a fashion show and I was thinking “I’ll have them all thanks”.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 03/08/2020 20:33

Evening. Times flies wicked. But what do you mean - not caught up on the threads? What have you been doing? You've just had a holiday - what were you doing?! Shock Wink

I'm watching a Buffy. It's full of tedious American college/high school students.

I shall think about doing more washing tomorrow - such is the excitement of my life. I never did get the hot wash on.

LetUsPrey · 03/08/2020 21:39

I really liked Buffy when they all used to go to the library to do research with Giles. And all the fighty stuff obviously.

We’re doing ep2 of The Last Wave. Have to pay attention because it’s in French with subtitles. It’s very good.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 03/08/2020 22:27

I used to read the 'Television Without Pity' reviews in the final series because I found them funnier than the actual thing - Buffy was just an irritating annoyance at the end (as I recall). Sadly it is long since deceased Sad though wikipedia says that the archives are still available. I shall have to investigate...

LetUsPrey · 03/08/2020 22:33

Never heard of that. I shall have to google/Wikipedia it.

The Last Wave continues to be good. Main actor is rather nice.

FancyFancy · 03/08/2020 23:45

OMG OMG OMG letus this is a thing

LetUsPrey · 03/08/2020 23:55
FancyFancy · 03/08/2020 23:57

Windscreen fixed - fairly painless.
Thanks for the reminder about the hot wash - must get that sorted as soon as the machine isn't needed for the backlog of DS's washing.

LetUsPrey · 04/08/2020 09:51

Morning wenches.

Rain here but I think it’s supposed to stop soon so DS2 and I will go for a walk.

Suppose I should get the kitchen tidy before we go out as I probably won’t want to do it when we get back.

LetUsPrey · 04/08/2020 13:00

Finally stopped raining so went for a walk with DS2. Unreasonable child wants some lunch.

I see that Royal Mail has brought out a range of Sherlock stamps. Shame they’re all self-adhesive these days. I’d have had to up my correspondence otherwise just so I could liiiiick the Batch and Moriarty Grin

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 04/08/2020 13:45

Morning. Bit busy today - get up, feed livestock, feed child, take child to activity, come home, log on for online-training, log out of online training, fetch child, feed child, try to log out of work but get sucked in by emails.... phew.

Glad that you got the windscreen fixed Fancy - good luck with working through the washing backlog at FancyDS for not doing his own washing.

LOL at the Rebecca flailing Grin Oh, but it's a netflix thing. FFAS.

You could still lick the stamps anyway LetUs - there's just less of a valid excuse.

In happy news, I've found the TWoP arhive - Buffy is at www.brilliantbutcancelled.com/show/buffy-the-vampire-slayer/, with the most recent episodes at the top (so start from the bottom) Other shows are at www.brilliantbutcancelled.com/shows/ - I think I used to giggle my way through the ER recaps as well. Happy days.

I'm meant to be tidying/packing/hot-washing the washing machine.

LetUsPrey · 04/08/2020 13:55

I shall enjoy reading through those Helen

Hadn’t twigged that the Rebecca thing is Netflix. I read the link just as I was getting into bed (no Armie dreams were prompted, but I did manage one where I was at my old work but with current colleagues, there were many staircases in different places IYSWIM, part of the building had been converted from an M&S, I was cuddling LetUsCat who then changed colouring so it wasn’t LetUsCat and I was shouting for him but couldn’t find him and woke up crying. So that was nice).

Anyway, poo to it being only on Netflix.

I could lick the front of the stamps which would be just as pointless Grin

Athos says can he help with anything? Anything he can do for you Helen? Give you a hand?
