Morning, just about recovered from the outrage . Teachers tried to do that to me too Helen - I loathed the reading of books out in class as it was so slooooow so was always daydreaming - rather obviously it seems! I'd always read ahead because I liked reading and with occasional help from obliging classmates never got caught out.

Afternoon. Went into town this morning to get some bits and bobs. Sad to see so many shops closed down.

Excellent news about DS1 LetUs - sounds like he's settling in nicely.

I've been out and about today as well. But not really to anywhere that I'd notice closed shops. I think that LocalSmallTown is doing ok (no worse than pre-lockdown), but LocalLargerTown was struggling before all this, and LocalCity has it's own problems with too many Shopping Mall type things and not enough shops to fill them.

Have we scared/bored MrsG away now? Oh well...

Morning. Grey and gloomy again. Wildlife report as per, but with an addition of a pair of swans, which is always nice to see.
DH had a shocker of a night's sleep so mine wasn't great. Today I shall be channeling a grumpy sloth.

Didn't sleep well and also had a really weird dream about the toilet being clogged and when I flushed it dirty water was dripping from the walls in different rooms. So weird.

The blob arrived today so I'm on Ibuprofen and will be doing sod all rest of the evening.

I've been reading TB and making a list of the people in it as I can't remember who's who. I'm up to 25 so far and that doesn't include those from the previous books. Also, does anyone do Pitman's shorthand? Some of that message doesn't tally with how I learned it. . It's good though, as I haven't put it down.

Evening all. TGIF. Work was fairly non-stop and I think I got lots done. We've established a way to do finance stuff that should make things run much more smoothly. In practice, we'll probably just find new ways for it to go wrong but there we go - such is life.

I know what you mean about all the characters Apricot - at one point I was just reading and hoping that I'd work out who they were talking about before I got completely lost I have no idea about Pitman either.

It’s absolutely peeing it down here. Have to go into town with DS2, then homework when we get back. Think I’ll have a tidy up and get DS1’s room finished (been giving it a good clean), and then I’m going to settle down with TB

LetUs, I think on balance that while we are busy creating bigger and better fool-proof methods at work, the universe is busy building bigger and better fools, and in my experience, the universe usually wins that race. Besides, I fully expect us to find a way to self-sabotage our new fool-proof methods in some way. We're creative like that.

No plans for today other than processing all the fruit before it rots into smelly pools of fruit fly heaven. And get rid of the fecking headache that I woke up with. Next job - phone for an eye test and see if new glasses would help.

The bloody wallpapering is finally done. Not perfect but I don't give a f**k. Now

Also still raining here. The fruit is simmering on the hob. I have mostly done not-very-much today. Though I did weed half a dozen T-shirts out of DS' drawers, which don't fit any more.
