Morning. It's sunny and windy and I'm bloody knackered. DS woke up and couldn't sleep at 3am On the plus side, DH has the day off so he can do all the house-tidying chores that need doing (Which probably means that he will do some faffing about, and then I'll end up tidying, but ho hum. He'll still be doing stuff that needs to be done.)

Wind and rain here. Trying to persuade DS2 to try on some school trousers (down from the loft, used to be DS1’s) then we may have to go shopping.

VACATION! WOHOOO!!

I’ve not done much today. Went to the ClothesShopInTheLoft and forced DS2 to try on many pairs of trousers and lots of shirts (couldn’t fasten top button on his most recent shirts) because I am mean. Then realised I’d better do something about school shoes for him so I continued with the being mean theme and took him for shoes.

Booked a trip and a cafe/restaurant (the ice cream place) for holiday. Have also realised that whilst DH and the DC are playing football —in the rain— in the humongous park near where we’re going, I can go to NearbyMuseum/ArtPlace where I shall waft about —in jeans and an anorak— and then have a cake in the tea shop and buy stuff in the gift shop.

Learning more about Burma. It’s very interesting.

Cases are down from the loft so tomorrow is packing, but it won’t take long as we’re only going for a few days.

LOL at learning about Burma - it's all about the educational information That sounds like a very civilised holiday activity though.

You can join me in the Evil Parent corner LetUs - we will have to put ourselves forward for the HBFs to apply appropriate disciplinary measures. I haven't even started on the school uniform (for DS - not me, unless the HBFs would like me to dress up for them of course.)

Packing today and ignoring/avoiding DH who will go into full on chatty organising with many questions mode.

I have a walk planned over lunchtime - a nice flat walk which doesn't have uppy-downy bits ) and probably a mooch to the beach late on, when hopefully most of the daytrippers will have gone.

Sunny and windy again here - Hope that apricot's caravan hasn't been blown away. Or maybe it's just us hogging all the windy. We had headbanging trees again yesterday.

All packed except for toiletries and chargers, etc. I did the thing that DH does when he explains what he’s going to take and why he’s taking it. I could see it was really annoying him

Trying to decide which of my new books to take on holiday - possibly this one

Afternoon. We're back home. It's been a good break, although like everywhere else very windy. Understatement, you could lean into it yesterday.

Hope LetUs has a lovely time, Fancy is enjoying the mini-meet and Helen's beach mooch has been daytripper-free.

We have rain. Lots and lots and lots of rain.

Evening all. Beach was lovely - nice and warm and involved fresh donuts and rather fit, topless young men playing volleyball. Fancy and put our sunglasses on for subtle appreciation of the scene. Walk was also not uppy-downy at all, which was good. The wind has also dropped this evening, which is a bit of a relief.

That looks like a good holiday book LetUs - suitably educational. The HBFs are on their way in case you need help after all that rain.

DS2 is up, dressed and ready to go! It’s lovely that he still gets so excited about going on holiday

Fortunately we don’t have a set time we have to leave by so an extra hour won’t make any difference.
