I had also been baking - apple cake.

It's 25 degrees in the house but we do have high cloud so maybe that will stop it getting quite so hot. Perhaps we should all go and stay with Bill's Mother if she has all the rain. (Though, tbh, I don't much fancy a month's worth of rain in 2 hours, or whatever the headline was that I saw.)

The lightning started as I went to bed. Thunder arrived a couple of hours later along with the rain. Not sure how much we had. I think it was all of it.

Going for a walk with DS2 this morning . That’ll be a nice surprise for him.

I was looking at the lightning maps too! Although not at the point when we were having the storms. It did look a bit busy last night up this way when I last looked.

Bloody hell it's hot. Just picked up DS and it was 30 according to the car.

I’ve managed to find a patch a shade in the garden. Went for a walk with DS2, trying to keep to paths through the trees. I could feel my hair frizzing as we were walking home.

I’m trying to find the best time to do my final C25K run so I don’t die from hot. October looks promising. LittleSis is having a similar problem but it’s hotter for her - she’s got similar temperatures to you Fancy.

at 25K . I’m not actually at running a full 5K yet, probably about 3.5. But not in this weather

No lightning here, just some rumbles in the distance and temperature hovering around 27 degrees. Both DS & I smelled rain earlier - the weather is toying with us

I do —usually— occasionally pretend I’m out running with an HBF and I don’t want him to think I’ve no stamina

I’ve got a headache which I think is weather related.

Oh - I've had a weather-related headache this afternoon too - they're just bloody annoying.

Pretending that HBFs are with you is a wonderful motivator. I find that the more boring the task is, the more they are impressed by my skills and fortitude

I'm going to have a cold tepid shower before bed, just because of the bloody weather. FFS.

There's a storm north of us, we can see the lightning but can't hear the thunder, although we have football on.

We definitely had lightning just after 11 but I was asleep before any thunder or rain arrived. I’ve just checked though and it’s forecast thunderstorms for most of the day today, starting in a couple of hours.
