yes, I agree. gosh I should go to bed, I'm exhausted. I'm reading Daughters and wives (or wives and daughters?) but after some initial enthusiasm I'm now demotivated, if this word exist in English

OP posts:
PippiCalzelunghe · 19/10/2007 21:54

francagoestohollywood · 19/10/2007 22:08

OP posts:
francagoestohollywood · 19/10/2007 22:08

I can see myself saying:
Push, push through your bottom!

OP posts:
PippiCalzelunghe · 19/10/2007 22:14

no can't do ou. i wouldn't do anything. i need the atmpsphere and the fellow pupils and the mild crush (sp?) for the lecturer .

I wanted to do european culture at UCL a few years back. got to see what's on. it's going to be nothing useful work-wise.

I can see you too. I'll employ you!

francagoestohollywood · 20/10/2007 09:30

lol at the mild crush. Me, I've never stidied anything "useful" either.
Think we are going to do a bit of gardening and then I'm going shopping to the new shopping centre with a friend

OP posts:
PippiCalzelunghe · 20/10/2007 11:02

not sure what we are going to do but it's such a lovely day here it'll be a sin to waste it indoors.

PippiCalzelunghe · 20/10/2007 11:17

today I might be doing franca's meatballs or a nice lasagne, if I can find a place that sells italian besciamella because that I cannot be bothered to do.

francagoestohollywood · 20/10/2007 11:42

it's cloudy and cold here . What's the english for besciamella? I'm going to make some sort of sugo. ds is being prepotente with dd, should go and sort them out. iy is - at times -exhausting.

OP posts:
PippiCalzelunghe · 20/10/2007 12:16

yes at times it is so very exhausting. one is so tempted to say 'just do what you like' and cover your eyes and ears!!

Don't know, I think they use the french term. I have to go and look for an italian shop in the area, I want some Mulino Bianco bisquits too.

yesterday I did pancetta e piselli.
do you know the pasta alla 'norcina'? I think it's an ubrian receipe. quite heavy but delicious.
you need sausages and cream.

skin the sausage and soffriggi il trito. when cooked through turn heat to low and add cream and warm. add black pepper and add to pasta.

tip:careful the cream id not off or you give DH food poison!!!

PippiCalzelunghe · 20/10/2007 12:17

or panna, prociutto e piselli. yummi.

francagoestohollywood · 20/10/2007 18:26

buona!!!! we are having pastina tonight, dh is going out for dinner, we had friends around for merenda and ate a lot. so just pastina for the three of us.

OP posts:
PippiCalzelunghe · 20/10/2007 18:41

pastina is lovely. in brodo??? sometimes that just beats everything else.

i am about to do chicken with mushrooms. in the end we did nothing all day as DD has got some rush around the mouth. I think for the cold weather but really sore after she wakes up and 'stuzzicato' with the thumb and saliva. I think. we'll see.

I am about to send DH to get me a movie for tonight as he'll be watching the rugby.

Rosa · 21/10/2007 08:40

Besciamella is sort of a white sauce ( roux method) I tend to do that then if feeling naughty add panna to make it more dolce and of course cheese.
Nearly froze last night as the Bora was in full flow must have been terrible in Trieste way but today is sole no vento but 6gradi fuori!!
x noi oggi pollo involtini with piselli and patate....

francagoestohollywood · 21/10/2007 09:44

mmmmm sounds delicious rosa!
yes, pastina in brodo with dado star and one sppon of brodo vegetale biologico esselunga! and lots of parmigiano. ds loved it
it's a beautiful day today, we are going out later.

OP posts:
PippiCalzelunghe · 21/10/2007 10:16

we put formaggino instead of parmigiano.
again another lovely day here and I am going out. for now I am going for a walk around the park for some fresh air and energy.

not sure what this DD's ruush could be. any suggestion? could it be something she ate? it's all around her mouth. dry spots now. all I know is that whatever it is, even nothing, the childminder won't take her.

PippiCalzelunghe · 21/10/2007 10:17

rash obviously

francagoestohollywood · 21/10/2007 16:33

we had a lovely day with the children at a farm just outside of Exeter.
No idea as to what the rush could be, it might just be saliva +cold + dry weather? I'm an expert of impetigo, but doesn't sound like it. Impetigo starts like a small spot which gets bigger and bigger, yellowish (un po' pussoso) and you need antibiotic cream for it.

OP posts:
PippiCalzelunghe · 21/10/2007 17:58

no she got that already. I am sure the saliva thing. although 3 kids mia's been in contact had really bad fever that had to go to hospital. apparently it's a virus... if she gets it I am going to scream.
Dh and I just came back from a greek restaurant and we ate a lot.

hotHELL · 21/10/2007 21:21

I was gong to say impetigo as well. Would take her to the gp. Lots of bugs going round. Will look at doing le polpette di franca tomorrow. Half term here in the east end.

Rosa · 22/10/2007 08:37

nipotina had a similar rash ..sort of dry red with little spots no idea what the doc said but it went away after a few days ..I think she used a pretty basic cream will ask her when I see zia.
Grey here but at mo no rain

francagoestohollywood · 22/10/2007 09:34

yes, half term here as well. at the moment they are playing nicely together. tomorrow dd goes to nursery anyway, I'll take ds to the museum.
made polpette yesterday with lamb and mint, they were very nice (I keep spending miliardi weekly at the local farmers market).
Pippi, if you have the weleda calendula cream (quella per nappy rash, which is excellent) I'd try put a bit on.
