I feel very guilty today, the last week ds has ended up watching telly every afternoon after school, around 45minutes to 1 hour! He doesn't want to ever go to the park! Do you think i am a crap mum for letting him watch all this telly? He is soo tired after school, and grumpy too. I hate telly hothell wanders off to watch supernanny

francagoestohollywood · 17/10/2007 20:34

LOL LOL LOL at Bob der Baumeister. It's bob le bricoleur in France (sp?) and bob aggiustatutto, I believe in Italy . And lol at your husband climbing on the ladder everynight. Thanks a million for the info, I've emailed them to dh, as I know he doesn't listen to me otherwise . can I copy them and email them to Brangelina?

nah hothell, you are not! I'm quite liberal re the telly thing, remembering how much pleasure I've always had from watching telefilms, cartoons and movies and I think they are allowed some telly if they are knackered after a long and busy day at school/nursery. It also depends on the day, today they only had half an hour before going to bed. (I'm going to go downstairs at 9 and watch supernanny and location on c4+1, the joys of cable)

morning.

PippiCalzelunghe · 18/10/2007 11:09

what a beautiful day.

franca I forgot to ask. did you like the flat?

francagoestohollywood · 18/10/2007 11:33

'Morning all. Have emailed Brangelina and Rosa with the precious advice

Pippi, the flat is actually very nice, very "vecchia Milano" with high ceilings, parquet a lisca di pesce and graniglia tiles. a bit shabby chic, more shabby than chic . It is quite small, a big change from our exeter house, but as I said it's in a nice, comoda area :-)

PippiCalzelunghe · 18/10/2007 11:46

it sounds really nice. well done!

what are you going to eat tonight? need ideas.

when are we meeting again?

PippiCalzelunghe · 18/10/2007 11:48

please explain to me whet this means '500g wild mushrooms, wiped and torn up'. what's the turn up bit???

Brangelina · 18/10/2007 11:52

I received the email, thanks. I just wanted to ask Cali's DH re the skybox and card, if you know someone in the UK who already has a subscription, can they not just order a second one free of charge, which can then be used abroad? This is what I heard from this friend of mine who did the same thing, albeit a few years ago. He's supposed to be getting back to me but is a bit slow...

It's just that I thought it'd be cool to use my sister's subscription (and she's now got Skyplus) and we'd both save lots of money. Also, I'm not keen on the idea of giving money to Rupert Murdoch, it's a bit like regalare soldi a Berlusconi IMO and it grates on me, to say the least

Brangelina · 18/10/2007 11:52

spezzati. I imagine the mushrooms are torn rather than cut because they're wild ...

francagoestohollywood · 18/10/2007 11:55

yes, grates on me as well...

PippiCalzelunghe · 18/10/2007 11:56

aaahhhhhh... makes sense. thanks. did you manage to meet up you two?

PippiCalzelunghe · 18/10/2007 11:59

it would grate on me as well tbh. however I do not see any other choice considering the crap's on italian tv. out of curiosity, what do your toddlers watch in italy? there was nothing remotely suitable for DD.

Ps hothell I am quite relaxed with tv as well. def not all day but I too remember fondly watching BIS and Okay il Prezzo e' Giusto o those days when I was ill!

PippiCalzelunghe · 18/10/2007 12:00

no no I mean 'il pranzo e' servito'!!!!

Brangelina · 18/10/2007 12:01

Yes, we met up for tea. Franca ordered a capuccino alle 16.30 . You can tell she's been living in he UK for too long , it'll be parmigiano on spaghetti con le vongole next!

Brangelina · 18/10/2007 12:03

My DD watches the news. Maybe Tom and Jerry before the TG on Rai 2 if she's up late. Other than that she watches DVDs I got from the UK or Baby Ensteins I bought v. cheaply from Messaggerie Musicali (? 9,99 each! bargain!)

francagoestohollywood · 18/10/2007 12:04

apparently there's only l'albero azzurro (?) on rai3 that's suitable otherwise you need satellite (again!!!).
pippi, lo sai, I believe they've just released a dvd with the carotni animati di supergulp!

That should be euros. Strange that the symbol doesn't come out.
