Emergency new thread, with suitable decorations.
Fill your boots...

Grubby HBFs in leather are in our imaginations residence.
Sense of humour required, and tolerance for domestic tedium.

Still feeling crappy Still, no work until January now

LetUsPrey · 20/12/2019 23:15

Sad for poorly wenches

I very much enjoyed Cats. Saw it many many many years ago - Macavity made quite the impression even then - and I love the music and dancing.

Lots of excellent trailers too.

Quick Brew and it’s off to the hayloft.

LetUsPrey · 21/12/2019 09:25

Morning wenches.

How are poorly wenches? Have the HBFs been administering treatment ?

Rainy here. Might actually decorate the tree today.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 21/12/2019 09:30

Morning all.

Gosh LetUs - that's the first positive thing I've heard anyone say about Cats! Grin All the reviews I've seen are along the lines of "Arghhhhhh let me bleach my eyeballs" etc.

We are at Chateau Fancy having had a nice night out, and another night out lined up tonight. I can confirm that Fancy is very definitely in need of tlc from the HBFs. Also probably olbas oil and tissues and being wrapped up in warm duvets and left to sleep for 48 hours. Sad

Hope that Apricot has survived being locked in a cupboard with HBFs the golf club, and that WW is feeling a bit better now.

Weather is currently sunny Shock having been lashing down overnight and yetsterday afternoon.

BestFriend and I genuinely enjoyed it Grin

Happy and safe festive travels to you Helen

I’ve been wrapping presents all afternoon. Can’t find the gift tags so I’ve used post its for now and will go out later. I’m tired though and I have a headache. Woe.

FancyFancy · 21/12/2019 16:10

Still not feeling great - I have a banging sore throat and an irritating cough & yesterday's husky man=voice has morphed into a hoarse barely-there voice. Less shivery than I was though & I have plenty of drugs to help - probably best if the hbfs stick around for medicinal purposes.......

I am supposed to be wrapping the presents but am pratting about on-line instead.

ApricotCrush · 21/12/2019 16:34

Afternoon.

The golf club do wasn't too bad. They're nice people, but I find it all a bit of a strain.

Presents wrapped total is now one less than yesterday as I realised that I hadn't put the stickers on one of them and had to unwrap it. Unfortunately I wrap very securely, so I had to rip it all off.

Glad you enjoyed Cats Letus.

Have fun on your evening out Helen and hope Fancy and WW feel better soon.

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 21/12/2019 20:40

Hope you feel better soon Fancy Brew

The cough is better so hopefully I can see Star Wars tomorrow. Getting tired of having to stay away from FB and internet to avoid spoilers. I have seen some comments about the movie so I have a bad feeling about how it will end.

LetUsPrey · 21/12/2019 20:58

I have a mental image of Apricot ripping the paper off a gift whilst swearing under her breath Xmas Grin

Medicinal HBFs ready to assist with whatever you need Fancy.

I’m hopefully seeing it tomorrow too Wicked! Pleased you’re feeling better.

Meant to say for any Douglas Henshall or ghost story fans, there’s a programme on Channel 5 on Thursday called The Small Hand, although it’s called Susan Hill’s Ghost Story in my TV guide (she wrote the book)

FancyFancy · 21/12/2019 21:26

Glad to hear you survived the golf do apricot & that you're feeling a bit better ww. Avoiding spoilers can be tricky........

LetUsPrey · 22/12/2019 09:15

Morning wenches.

Oh FFS there were supposed to be pictures with that last post. How’s Fancy supposed to get better without any input from HBFs?

Going to do more wrapping this morning before taking DS1 to sportingactivity. Visit parents and then Star Wars with DS1. At least that’s the plan.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 22/12/2019 09:50

Morning. We had two guys on the train last night talking about going to see Star Wars tomorrow - for the third time! I told them that we hadn't seen it yet, and stole a joke from twitter said that I'd heard that it was a very bold move to dress them all in cat outfits and turn it into a musical Grin

Also, I have stood on the doorstep on TV's 221b Baker Street (actually up in North Gower Street) so via wench proximity rules I may have accidentally married The Batch Grin DS had wanted to go there, but was too busy being cool to actually have a photo taken there Where's my enthusiastic small child gone - the one who was more concerned about having fun than looking cool?

Today we will mostly be driving I think, and DH will be allowed to live if he doesn't try to mansplain Twitter to me again (I showed him how to use it so now he's feeling the need to tell me how it works.) I shall grit my teeth and put it down to his enthusiasm of finding out new (to him) stuff and wanting to tell me about it.

Fingers crossed we won't take Fancy's rather unpleasant lurgy away with us too Confused

Glad to hear that the golf club wasn't too bad, and fingers crossed for all wenches at Star Wars today.

Happy to help Fancy Xmas Grin

at Star Wars Cats crossover. Look, there’s a wench version

Hmm at MrHelen. He can have the Christmas benefit of the doubt.

Only stopped at sportingactivity briefly as DS2 moved up today so I left DH to it. I came home and had a very lovely, peaceful, relaxing bubble bath listening to a Susan Calman show on BBC Sounds.

Must get the tickets booked for this afternoon.

Just waiting for DS1 to decide when it’s okay to go into the cinema and not too early Ice cream at the cinema doesn’t count for calories does it? Thought not.

Enjoy the film Wicked!

ApricotCrush · 22/12/2019 16:57

Afternoon. All presents wrapped and under the tree. Halo

Bit of a shock though, we have DGS tomorrow and I hadn't planned for that. I'm sure SIL said he finished work on the 19th. Oh well. Xmas Confused

We fetched the insulation out of the chimney this morning so we can have log fires. We have to cover everything up in case of a soot fall and I always dread a dead pigeon falling out as has happened before, but not this year.

Will record that Dougie Henshall thing, thanks LetUs.

Hope Helen had an uneventful journey without any mansplaining and Fancy is recovering from the lurgy.

Enjoy Star Wars wenches. Noooo, of course no calories in ice cream. Xmas Hmm

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 22/12/2019 17:24

Have fun Letus Grin

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 22/12/2019 18:46

I'm at the cinema! Booked a seat at the end of a row just in case I get a massive coughing attack Hmm

LetUsPrey · 22/12/2019 20:25

Wicked that would be less annoying than the many many people who were in my cinema with obviously very tiny bladders. Enjoy it!

Just as well there’s no calories in cinema snacks. I had two scoops but one was cotton candy flavour - cotton candy is basically air - and an apple one - so that was fruit.

Just as well you’ve checked for dead pigeons Apricot. You don’t want to be snuggling with an HBF in front of the fire and have a pigeon plummet on you.

LetUsPrey · 23/12/2019 08:21

Morning wenches.

Late night (because I’m an idiot) and then woken up by DS2 at about 4am saying he felt sick. Thankfully he’s not been sick, went back to sleep and is now feeling much better. I’m sure work won’t mind if I have a little snooze at my desk.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 23/12/2019 09:17

Urgh LetUs Sad

It's all sunny and clear here (though sodden underfoot still. Was out again last night with friends which was fun until I got to the stage of 'I'm very sober and very tired, and you're slightly annoyingly pissed, and I'm tired of you ignoring me while I'm being the responsible adult'.

Discovered yesterday that we'd forgotten to send a card/present to someone. Oops.

Apricot - I would suggest pigeon-proofing your chimney from the top, but that would involve MrA climbing up a ladder and stuff, and I don't know if we could cope with the worry... Grin We had a bat come down ours once. Or I think we did. We couldn't work out how else it could have got in.

Wicked - did you enjoy it? Or can you not talk about it without lettin spoilers out of the bag?

Hope that Fancy is having a good long lie-in and is feeling better.

ApricotCrush · 23/12/2019 17:26

Afternoon.

I've spent most of the day sorting the year's photos for the CDs for the DC. I really should keep up to date with it and it wouldn't be such a big job.

I've also done the last of the shopping, what I haven't got now I'll have to do without. Hmm

Yes the chimney does need pigeon-proofing but it's very high, and even DH wouldn't contemplate going up there. Shock

Hope Star Wars was good.

LetUsPrey · 23/12/2019 19:00

Evening wenches.

Absolutely no pigeon-proofing to be done by MrApricot!

Completely bonkers at work today. Phone hardly stopped - lots of clients wanting to speak to people who have already finished for Christmas and failed to ensure there’s adequate cover in their departments.
