It sounds like all wenches qualify for HBF-based rewards for card-writing efforts.

BigCity wasn't actually too bad - I got what I needed and was in and out before I knew it. Completely unlike any HBFs, obvs. And I might actually have got xmas pressies sorted now. (I probably haven't, but I can't think of any I've missed yet.)

Fingers crossed for the oven part arriving quickly apricot - and for it being easy to replace!

Morning.
Bought the tree, put it up and did all the decorations yesterday. So still haven't written the rest of the cards

Afternoon. I have been in the garden tidying up. Then DS came some from SportingActivity saying that he didn't feel well and curled up in his bed. So I came in to look after him. Then he remembered that he has a new Fortnite thing to play with. He has staged a remarkable recovery... Back to the garden for me...

Evening. Dark and dismal day here.

DH has spent a lot of the day dismantling the cooker and cleaning it whilst we wait for the spare part I'm not the world's best cooker cleaner. He does this annually just before we cook the year's most messy and oven-dirtying meal. Having said that, I'm not entertaining on Christmas Day or Boxing Day , but will do something later in the week.

His Dark Materials tonight. I'm getting a bit bored with it.

Afternoon. It's at its darkest now, and will start to get lighter in the afternoons on Friday. Unfortunately the mornings continue to get darker.

Had an unexpected card today from ex-DIL so had to dive out to the post box.

Hope LetUs's dental visit went well, and Fancy enjoyed lunch with friends.

We're out for a meal this evening with SIL and BIL. It's at our local pub, so not far to drive. It's just a little bit too far to walk at this time of the year.

Also out this evening - it's a bloody unremitting social whirl And it's lovely to see people and everything, as per ^^ somewhere, DH and I haven't been in the house together for an evening for over a week! (Though I can't think what we were doing on Saturday to not be in. )

Bought myself an advent calendar today - bit late but I don’t care . Behind each door there’s a little bag (resealable) of jigsaw pieces and the whole thing is a 500 piece winter scene jigsaw puzzle. I bloody love it!

Morning. Evening out was fun but I was knackered and went straight for bath and bed afterwards. Then DS got upset because he couldn't get to sleep so ended up in bed with me, and I transferred to his bed once he was asleep... Am somewhat smug this morning because DH has already grumbled about sharing bed with an 'all elbows and knees octopus' having previously told me that we could easily all squeeze into the same bed. (After I'd said no, we couldn't, and the only reason that he thought we could was because I am always the buffer between him and the squirmy one.) So, ha!

Bloody dark out there this morning, and wet. Ho hum.

Ha to MrHelen! Bit like when DH explains to me what I should do to get DS1 to get ready a bit faster, and then found that nothing works when he had first hand experience of it

The wondrous advent calendar is from M&S and full price it was only £5, and I got it with I think 30% off. I hope they do another one next year.
