Emergency new thread, with suitable decorations.
Fill your boots...

Grubby HBFs in leather are in our imaginations residence.
Sense of humour required, and tolerance for domestic tedium.

It’s a couple of weeks until release isn’t it Wicked? Hopefully you’ll just have a slight cold which won’t develop into anything and you’ll be in perfect health and ready to take on Kylo

I forgot - I HAVE WRITTEN SOME CARDS!!! About 20 so far. And seeing as that was at the same time as assisting with homework, that’s a lot of rewards Grin

Just watching Death in Paradise on Alibi. Trailer for Strike, first episode on Monday at 10pm, just in case anywench fancies a repeat treat.

Morning wenches.

In much the same way as Helen forgetting to put the cover on the car made it frosty, I remembered to get my scarf out last night therefore no frost this morning. Bloody dark though.

I think I’ll go back to the hayloft.

We have your frost LetUs - and also a very fetching pink hue to everything this morning while we shivered mooched to the bus stop.

Well - you got some xmas cards written LetUs? That calls for FAF... they would like you to join them for a celebration

I have done no cards still, but I have done some hoovering and put washing on Halo I also need to do mopping and general house blitzing...

And FFS - the day has barely started and the internet is down.

Morning
Bloody cold here over the last few days.

Welcome back ww - did you have a fab time? Where did you visit?

Glad to hear the op went well apricot

Precisely zero cards written so far

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 05/12/2019 16:26

I have wrapped some presents Shock Grin

And washed carpets and throws. I shall reward myself by borrowing Dr Athos from Apricot, who I hope is feeling less ouchy today Sad.

Afternoon. More rain here.

Oh dear, DH is setting up a security camera thingy onto the doorbell. Not only has he fetched up the stair carpet to wire it resulting in me shredding my heel on the gripper rods, but he has used some chop-saw contraption in the porch which has covered my lovely hand-made wreath in dust. He also keeps regaling me with the details of how the thing works and stuff he's discovered on his phone. He's very good, he endured two hours in the hospital waiting room for me yesterday, but oh, I do hope it isn't raining tomorrow and he goes to golf.

Gosh Helen, you deserve Dr Athos for all that work. Yes, less ouchy today thanks.

Well done with the cards LetUs. I've written one. Woohoo! It's our niece's birthday on Sunday and I always send the two cards together.

Welcome back WW, but shame you brought a cold with you. Sad

LetUsPrey · 05/12/2019 20:24

Evening wenches. Rain here today too.

Ooo well done on wrapping presents Helen! I’ve ordered some more today.

I celebrated with the HBFs a lot today, thank you Helen.

Pleased you’re less sore today Apricot, at least from yesterday’s procedure. Not so much with your foot though . And Hmm at getting your wreath dusty

Tired today. Not been sleeping well and it’s all getting a bit stressy again/more stressy with DS2.

DH will be watching tv later with DS1 so I shall take the opportunity for n early night.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 05/12/2019 20:38

Gin Wine and [HBFs] for LetUs

FFS at MrApricot though. that sounds really painful (foot) and bloody annoying (wreath)

It's been mostly dry here today (hence washing) - started to rain at about 5pm and it's quite windy now (just heard the watering can go spinning across the patio). I rather fancy an early night too..

Fucksake. About 30 minutes ago I wondered why the washing hadn’t finished that I’d set going at about 6. Went into check and machine says there’s about two hours left. Looked more closely and see I’ve set it on a prewash by mistake. Even resetting it to what it should have been and putting it on a quick wash means over an hour and then putting it out so it can dry so I can do another tomorrow evening. What. An. Idiot.

And I’ve realised that it’s Christmas Jumper Day at school next Friday and the jumper DS2 has worn for the last two years is now rather snug. Fuuuuuuucccckkkkkkkk. Fuck it. Fuck it all.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 05/12/2019 21:37

Oh LetUs Sad
Can you just let it run and get up 10 minutes early to hang it to dry? Or, if it's been pre-washing already can you just stop it and got straight to the spin anyway? (I did that this morning - 30 minute wash has a feeble spin so I sent it to 'no spin' and then came back and did a separate spin)

I'm heading for the hayloft - DS should be in bed by now but isn't. Shit happens... I'll deal with him and then fall into bed myself...

Might just ask DH to empty it into the basket when it finishes and then put it out in the morning. He’s offered to do it but I’ve said it’s okay.

Wenches and washing - not a great mix today.

Have just noticed my watch battery has stopped working. This would normally be a flipping heck moment but I went through the back pocket of my purse where I keep the battery guarantee thing and I’ve found a £20 note! No idea why it’s there but hurrah!

I’m finishing my —large— Pimms and then heading to the hayloft.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 06/12/2019 07:57

Talking of pouring, we have rain. Oh the joys. And DS was completely faffing about this morning, so we literally had to run to get the bus. And I can't find my favorite-fits-perfectly-hat which I know I had at the swimming pool last night... will be phoning them and sainsburys shortly to see if it's turned up there. I've had it years Sad etc. Also need to phone Dr for DH since he woke me up at 4:30 with a really bad throat ad now thinks he has tonsillitis. Just in time for visiting friends this weekend. FFS.

Hurrah for finding random money in pockets though - that's always nice.

It’s Friiidaayyy.

FancyFancy · 06/12/2019 12:18

Afternoon. Early start this morning, but back early, would like a nap, but probably ought to do some Christmas prepping. May stick a bottle of pink fizz in the fridge for tonight & write some cards drunk Grin

ApricotCrush · 06/12/2019 17:36

Evening. Well, I've finished decorating the trees, but still no more cards done.

DH went to golf, but has been tatting with the doorbell camera thing ever since and getting more and more annoyed because it won't work.

Yay for £20 find LetUs.

Wine for all wenches, we seem to be in need just lately.

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 06/12/2019 17:38

Snotty and coughing my lungs out Sad

Fancy, we went to Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park, Portobello Market, which was fab, Oxford Street which was chaos, ate at a pub, an Indian restaurant with really great food and also an italian restaurant which was quite good.
Also waiting for a lot of buses since my apparently geriatric friends don't want to use the tube since there's too many stairs and their legs hurt Hmm

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 06/12/2019 17:44

Oooh - drunk Xmas cards - tell the family & friends how you really feel, etc. Grin

LOL at your geriatric friends wicked - have they never heard of escalators? Still, at least you see more when you're on a bus.

DH is off work and on antibiotics (which will hopefully sort him out).

I have spent the day doing house stuff, buying xmas tree and retrieving my hat (hurrah!!!!!!!!!!!) I need to go out shortly and it's peeing down... We have also throw tinsel and decorations around the house Grin (But not written any cards either. I'm now at the stage of starting to get twitchy about the lack of card writing because I can see the month shooting past...)

Hurrah for finding hats and £20 notes Grin

Oh dear ww, apologies for inflicting our UK germs on you, hope you're better soon. DD is going to the Winter Wonderland thing soon - she did tell me which day, but I've forgotten

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 06/12/2019 20:05

Coughing and being a tad incontinent isn't a great combo Hmm

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 06/12/2019 20:06

It was Swedish germs from my roomie Hmm

LetUsPrey · 06/12/2019 20:21

Evening wenches.

and for Wicked. Also at your friends not using the Tube for rubbish reasons. Sounds like you had lots of fun though and loads of good stuff to eat.

Got some more gifts today and took DS2 shopping for a sodding Christmas jumper. May have bought him one that’s a teensy but bigger than necessary and to be honest the size down only just fit. Anyway he’s happy with it and he’ll be fine with the sleeves turned up.

if that was DH, it wouldn’t be working because he’d not read the instructions properly —again—

Hurrah for finding your hat Helen!

I am determined to finish the cards tomorrow. HBFs you have been warned.

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 06/12/2019 21:05

I might come back to London on my own next time, it's quite nice to travel by yourself sometimes.
