Emergency new thread, with suitable decorations.
Fill your boots...

Grubby HBFs in leather are in our imaginations residence.
Sense of humour required, and tolerance for domestic tedium.

Were you enticed Fancy?

Were they melting moments Helen?

That was a beautiful lamp Wicked - and how brilliant that you’re so close to the shop!

I’m exactly the same Apricot. Have a mad 30 minutes washing up and tidying. Grin at MrApricot playing with the trains.

Watching Strictly which reminds me that I had a dream about Gorka a few nights ago. I woke up smiling Grin

FancyFancy · 23/11/2019 20:47

@ worrying MrA would play with the trains.

Sadly there was no faf on the way most inconsiderate. Did get one more Christmas present though, so am pleased with that at least.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 23/11/2019 21:19

LOL at MrA playing with trains Grin It's like when you make the mistake of asking a child if you can get rid of a toy, and then it immediately becomes their favourite and they play with it for days...

LetUs - The moments were a combination of melting (me) and rock hard (Athos) Grin #deluded

In real life, I have to get a grip on Athos Christmas presents. I've not got anything for anyone other that to tell them what DS wants Confused

Morning wenches.

Normal Sunday here which means DS1 moving at a snail’s pace when we need to leave in 10 minutes, homework awaits for DS2 - more than he should have to do today because he wouldn’t do it yesterday, ironing for me. And it’s raining.

I’m trying to be positive about shit but, fuck me, it’s proving a bit tricky.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 24/11/2019 12:06

Morning.

for LetUs, and lots of HBFs to add happiness and positivity and smut.

I have had a lie-in followed by pancakes (because why not?) and letting the chickens out. Plus a phone call from DH checking on how much buttermilk I want, because DS wants (me) to make a red velvet cake. It's most exciting Hmm. I ought ot be processing more apples really but I can't be arsed and will do some once I've had a mooch online.

OP posts:
LetUsPrey · 24/11/2019 14:39

Mmmm pancakes.

Just the one from HBI today - When you push in, just push in gradually

It’s gone 2.30 and DS2 hasn’t done any homework yet, so DH has taken him with him whilst he goes to see his mum. Thing is, I’m going to visit my parents and apparently it’s impossible for any homework to get done whilst I’m not here, so it’ll be cracking on for gone 4 by the time he actually sits down to do anything. And there’s a lot.

ApricotCrush · 24/11/2019 18:02

Afternoon, although it feels much later.

I'm still doing the Thomas eBay listing, I think they had every item there was. I'm putting them into bundles and am terrified of getting them mixed up.

Grin at HBI.

Ooooo Helen, red velvet cake. What's that, can't be bothered to google?

LetUsPrey · 24/11/2019 18:12

I dread to think how much Thomas stuff is in our loft. DS1 loved TTE.

I was out of the house for just over an hour in which time DH and DS2 phoned me about homework, then DS1 phoned me about wanting to print something (we have no toner), then DS2 phoned me again. He’s half done some stuff that’s not due till Thursday but hasn’t read the instructions properly. But the stuff that’s due tomorrow? Still not done. Sigh. I’m boring myself now

His Dark Materials tonight - excellent.

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 24/11/2019 20:40

Evening. How is it Monday tomorrow already? I had a relaxing weekend freaking out about some crawly things I find among my clothes, disgusting. Not among the knickers thankfully. I've been going through all my clothes and threw some old stuff away. Will be going through them again and have bought plastic containers to keep my clothes in. Also bought red ceder oil to keep the fuckers away.

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 24/11/2019 20:42

And the printer didn't work when I was going to print out all the travel documents so I'm having Wine now.

LetUsPrey · 24/11/2019 20:50

Monday can fuck off.

I’ve got a lot of my clothes in plastic covers and my shoes are in plastic boxes —although I’m running out of room for the shoes—. Unfortunately DH didn’t put a cover on his —fucking awful— leather jacket and it got a bit moldy. Shame.

Wine sounds an excellent idea. It’s 8.50 and DS2 is just about finishing the homework that’s due tomorrow.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 24/11/2019 21:25

at moldy jacket. I had some clothes go moldy in our wardrobe. i just washed them and put them back in. #slattern (or some such)

DH just channel surfed the C5 showing 'The Mummy' - apparently it's not a remake of the 1999 one, but does have Tom Cruise, Russell Crowe and...

Yep, it has Ninon from TM - talking in 'ancient Egyptian' to a very much alive and hacked off half dressed female Mummy. In chains. How odd.
We're back to American football again now. I think I preferred incomprehensible and silly Mummy films...

oops - DS bedtime...

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 24/11/2019 21:43

Anyway, where was I? LOL at HBI - good advice for getting warmed up Grin

Apricot - red velvet cake is just a very moist sponge cake with red food colouring - and buttermilk which isn't in stock at any local supermarkets Hmm I'm wondering if I need to go to a waitrose to track some down.

I'm also a bit stumped by how it's Monday tomorrow. I don't know where this weekend went. On the plus side though, I do have next week off (because I don't seem to have taken any leave to speak of this year, have have had to taken random days off.) I might have to do housework and stew more apples

OP posts:
FancyFancy · 24/11/2019 21:53

Evening
I also appear to have wasted the weekend, And am off work next week too. Doubt I'll be stewing apples though

FancyFancy · 24/11/2019 22:29

Weekend not entirely wasted - am drinking a raspberry mojito.......

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 24/11/2019 22:54

Good start to a week off then Fancy - DH says to tell you that he's drinking some very dodgy home brew Grin

You got any plans for your week off?

OP posts:
LetUsPrey · 24/11/2019 23:06

That is indeed a super start to the week ahead Fancy!

I’d get as much as I could do done on the Monday and then the rest of the week is free. At least that would be the plan. In reality I’d get to Friday and have done fuck all of any use.

His Dark Materials was brilliant yet again. I don’t want the series to end.

FancyFancy · 24/11/2019 23:16

Some cultural activities and clearing up the spare room. Well that is the plan.

Cultural activities with FancyMan tomorrow. No sniggering at the back

LetUsPrey · 24/11/2019 23:35

Cultural activities mmhmm Grin

I’m watching a bit of tonight’s Seven Worlds, One Planet before I head to the hayloft. There are two hamsters who are squaring up to each other and are having a right old scrap.

LetUsPrey · 25/11/2019 07:56

Morning wenches.

Dark and dreary and Monday.

Hope Fancy and Helen have completely fabulous weeks off.

Had some very odd dreams one of which included a neighbour’s child kicked a football which hit the front door (accidentally) which hit me in the face. I explained to another neighbour that I couldn’t complain as it was an accident and anyway they could complain about the noise DS2 makes. This neighbour was Benedict Cumberbatch driving a pick up truck that looked like a real life version of Mater from the Cars films. He suggested I come round to talk a bit later, but there was obviously History between us so he meant “talk”. Unfortunately I woke up before I could go round for an in depth conversation

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 25/11/2019 08:12

Hmm. when I said week off, that's only from the BoringOfficeJob of course. and even then not entirely because there's an ongoing job which needs checking in on every day. Oh well - I'm still not having to be in the actual office, and I get to choose my hours so it's cool.

It is dreary out there. and I have a pile of washing to do. Oh - and a bonkers dream to report, but there was no FAF or wenches so why bother? (Other than it amused me of course, but I don't think I'll bore you with it.) LOL at in depth conversations Grin

In other news I ordered books last night for xmas pressies - hurrah! I am cracking on with it. Sort of.

OP posts:
ApricotCrush · 25/11/2019 18:40

Evening. Eeeek at creepy crawly things, printer not working and mouldy jacket but yay for weeks not at work.

Oh, Seven Worlds, One Planet doesn't seem to have recorded. Will have to look on the iPlayer.

Someone on eBay has asked me if I will ship to Iceland. Confused Not too sure about that. I've asked on the MoneySaving eBay forum and it seems I just have to complete a customs slip or something. Don't know whether to risk it, I don't normally send stuff overseas. I don't know how much to charge her either, the Royal Mail website isn't much help. I was in the Post Office earlier as well, but hadn't seen her message then. Confused

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 25/11/2019 20:33

Too Iceland? Sounds complicated Apes.

LetUsPrey · 25/11/2019 20:36

Evening wenches.

Errr I mean what’s that? My hair’s a bit messy? Erm, it’s breezy outside. Yes, that’s what it was.

Well, hopefully you’ll get to have fun at some point Helen, and even more hopefully this will involve Athos Grin

Back in the day when I sold stuff on eBay, I’d always no to shipping overseas but that was me being a bit lazy —and over cautious—

Work was a bit shit and they’re taking the piss again. We’ve had some staff leave, so it’s a thing again of expecting the staff that are left to just cover those jobs, but also carry on with their own stuff. Had a look online for another job a couple of weeks ago. Bog all.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 25/11/2019 21:26

I shipped some ebay stuff over to Canada once. I don't recall how much hassle it was, and I think that they may have been the only bidder. that's really an utterly pointless comment to make isn't it? Ah well - good luck Apricot

Evening LetUs. I hope you had a nice day at WORK doing WORKY things with WORK people. Yes. Because you were at WORK, not hiding in the cupboard. Hmm Grin

What are the creepy crawly things in your drawers Wicked?

Hope that Fancy has enjoyed her cultural day - tae, obvs. Grin

I have had a day of booking in roofers to look at our leaky roof and trying to arrange a series of events for BoringOfficeJob which is kind of like playing Jenga to fit all the venues in to the available dates Confused Think I'm nearly there now. I also fell off my bike into a massive muddy puddle, which was hysterically funny.
