And wenches can use their imaginations to make the temperature rise and anything else they can think of.

Also miserable here - has been raining, but not right now.
Domestic tedium so far:
Feed livestock
Pick up windfalls
Cook up windfalls before they rot
Tell DS to get off xbox
Answer emails that I've been avoiding answering
Tell DS to get off xbox
Get irritable with DH because I'm seething mass of resentment at his lie-in and at DS' xboxing while I'm slaving away over bloody windfalls.

Still to do - clear out DS bedroom (again) and do painting.
FML.
Can someone clone me please, and I'll go back to the hayloft with Athos while the clone does the boring stuff?

FancyFancy · 29/09/2019 11:02

Morning
Was mum taxiing again last night, was unpleasantly wet with massive puddles everywhere.

Glad to hear the antibiotics have been helpful for your DD apricot.

Sadly Magi is not in the final & I have to wait until Wednesday for the decathlon. Women's pole vault today though which is always good to watch.

Am trying to summon up the enthusiasm to to go grocery shopping.

ApricotCrush · 29/09/2019 18:33

Afternoon. Rain, rain and more rain here.

DD and DGS came round this afternoon with another bear who needs an operation for a wobbly neck.

What's on tonight? I've lost track of when stuff is on. We've got three episodes of Sanditon to catch up on and I'm not sure I'm too keen on it. We've already ditched Deep Water and we're persevering with The Capture but don't know wtf is going on. There's also The Confession which we're so far behind with I've forgotten what it's about. The trouble is DH is working all day at DS's and promptly goes to sleep when he sits down. Angry

Never mind, I've started knitting another jumper to use up some of the mountain of wool I've got. I don't know where I'm going with it, but hope for inspiration as I go along. Confused

Wine for all those in need.

Evening wenches.

No HBI

they’ll never know the difference Helen

Domestic —tedium— bliss here too. Washing, ironing, homework, etc. Although I’ve done some serious catching up with West Wing.

I watched one episode of Sanditon Apricot and haven’t bothered with more. We’ve not started The Capture yet. A few people at work have been raving about The Confession. There’s a new thing on BBC1 tonight World On Fire which looks good so I’ve set that to record and we’ll have something to watch in February. I’ve got some stuffing to do a bear repair but not got round to it.

Did you get yourself any treats Fancy? Biscuit spread? Just caught a bit of the pole vault and the women’s 100m semis.

Are you freestyle knitting Apricot? I can only follow a pattern. I’m the same with Lego - can only follow the instructions.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 29/09/2019 19:41

Evening. Same weather here as at apricot's - torrential, biblical deluges and the odd rumble of thunder. Plus steady rain. Flooding all over the place - the wheel arches should be clean now though Grin

Did get the painting done though, and I'm feeling slightly less of a miserable cow than I was this morning. So that's good.

I have no iddea what's o TV tonight - I might try to get DH to watch another Killing Eve. We haven't even started The Capture.

LetUsPrey · 29/09/2019 22:00

We’re not watching anything other than a bit of athletics because DH is being a dick and is pissing me off, so it’s an early night and NIAGW.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 29/09/2019 22:15

LetUs - I'm also heading for an early-ish night.
DH has just found the athletics (after a bit of prompting) but no - he doesn't like marathon (or whatever it is) so is heading back to the - oh, news. Cool. Much better than American football.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 30/09/2019 07:48

Morning wenches. Today I will have to buy a new coat. I put mine on to go down to the bus with DS..."Look at your coat" says he - nodding to the arm. I glance down and there's a mahoosive fucking eight-legged monster sitting on my bicep Shock Shock Shock Shock Shock Shock just inches from my hair and being able to climb up onto my head Shock Shock Shock Shock Shock Shock
So I flail and send it falling to the floor where it hides under the welly boot that I'm wearing, and I get a pot over it.

It's now over the road in next door's hedge, but clearly I will have to burn the coat. And possible the welly that it hid under.

In other news - early cloud has cleared over and we have quite a nice sunny morning. Oh, and one of the miscellaneous 'rescued' chickens appears to be on it's last legs Sad

LetUsPrey · 30/09/2019 08:03

Morning wenches.

So glad I went to bed earlier this usual. I feel so much more rested. Hang on, no I don’t.

You definitely have to burn the coat Helen, and the boot, probably the hedge across the road to be safe.

I’m in one of those “everything’s going to shit, no one cares so why the fuck should I, cry at a moment’s notice” sort of massive grump moods so feel free to shut me in a cupboard for a day.

FancyFancy · 30/09/2019 08:44

Morning.

We can be like that together letus - am getting demoralised by the constant work speaking of which, work today at least I'll get overtime.

re chicken helen

Also not started on The Capture yet - that will have to wait until after the athletics finishes.

Had an awful dream last night. I was homeless and frantically looking for somewhere to sleep. Ended up in a dorm room at a hostel with the beds really close together so there were no privacy. The dream felt so real so woke up feeling really unsettled.

ApricotCrush · 30/09/2019 17:04

Afternoon.

With the knitting, I used to follow patterns, but now I know how many stitches and rows fit me and I write down the instructions for each design, so effectively I follow my own patterns but with variations.

Eeek at eight-legged monster Helen. I always worry about taking them somewhere that they'll come back, rather like homing pigeons. Shock

Sad about chicken.

We caught up with The Confession last night. Martin Freeman is excellent.

Oh, that's horrible WW, sounds like something I would dream of.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 30/09/2019 19:20

Wine for wicked Dreams like that are horrible. Sad

I'm always impressed by anyone who can knit and produce something usable - let alone modify patterns to make more bespoke stuff.

The chicken is still hanging in there, still looking very sorry for herself.

Hope that LetUs and fancy have had ok days at work. What you both need is motivation.

LetUsPrey · 30/09/2019 20:23

Evening wenches.

Things that don’t help with the morning at home before school and work: DS2 realising he had homework due, which hadn’t been put on the homework app, and which was for the first lesson of the day, and then DS1 having a massive panic because he thought he’d get into a lot of trouble. Some sympathy but with a bit of you’ll know for next time, all you can do is apologise. And then him leaving the house the latest he’s ever done with me shouting after him to hurry up but not to run across the road even on the pelican crossing. It was all fine in the end, but still.

Poor chicken Sad

Horrible dream Wicked. Proper crap when that happens and you can’t shake it off when you wake up.

I’m well impressed with your knitting skills Apricot Shock

I’m feeling super motivated. Very. Most motivated I’ve ever been in fact Grin

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 30/09/2019 21:48

Has anyone here tried Hayu? It's a streaming online thingy with tons of reality shows my guilty pleasure Smile

LetUsPrey · 30/09/2019 21:56

I’ve seen it advertised but not tried it.

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 30/09/2019 22:02

Also impressed with your knitting skills Apes. I always start things but never finish them.

LetUsPrey · 30/09/2019 22:08

No idea what you mean Wicked

Hayloft for me. From what I recall from those pictures posted by Helen, I’ll have plenty of commonly Grin

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 30/09/2019 22:20

Also hayloft for me.

It is piddling down with rain still, if you don't hear from me toorrow we've been washed away. Or more likely, I'm just running late and need to get to work. Confused

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 01/10/2019 07:48

It's stopped raining and it's almost sunny. It won't last. Doom. etc.

Actually, I'm wondering if Sleeping Beauty was onto something. Get a good log sleep with no-one pestering you, then get snogged awake by a HBF. Bit of a result really. Assuming it's the right HBF - if not then he can FTFO and you can go back to sleep.

LetUsPrey · 01/10/2019 07:49

Morning wenches.

Also piddling down here.

Rubbish sleep again - shoulder is sore again so it took ages for me to get to sleep. Seeing someone on Friday about it.

Can’t think of anything else

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 01/10/2019 07:56

I don't want to go to work.

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 01/10/2019 09:49

Oh, a Slytherin scarf, what great idea!

Do you have a pattern for that Letus?

I actually need a new winter hat, maybe a Slytherin one?

ApricotCrush · 01/10/2019 18:13

Afternoon. More rain.

Actually the knitting doesn't always go right. Plan A is knit, sew together and wear, but if something goes wrong, I lose interest or I can't get inspiration, I Plan B it, which is fold it up, stuff it in a cupboard and forget about it until a couple of years later when it resurfaces and I might or might not finish it. I currently have three Plan Bs languishing in a cupboard. Sad

I haven't heard of Hayu WW. Well, until now. Hmm

Hope everyone has had as good a day as possible.
