And wenches can use their imaginations to make the temperature rise and anything else they can think of.

I'm not going to ask... actually I am. Which HBF and how did you break it?

Currently at SportingActivity, and then heading off carpet shopping for DS. Does the chateau need new carpets too? Should I ask the sales bod which the best carpet is for avoiding carpet burns? Grin

Hope Fancy managed at least one glass of wine after doing the taxi run yesterday.

FancyFancy · 21/09/2019 11:41

Morning.
Sadly by the time I returned from mum taxi duties it was time for bed.

Lovely and sunny here today - so I will be doing more work We really are understaffed at work. At least I can also get some laundry done - the excitement! And look forward to some Pimms tonight.

Tooth is still a little tender, but lesser so than yesterday, so hopefully everything is healing up properly.

Excellent idea re : asking about carpet burns helen - if any research is needed, I can think of some volunteers........

LetUsPrey · 21/09/2019 15:15

Just picturing Helen confusing the carpet salesperson with her carpet burn avoidance enquiry Grin

Re broken furniture, there was Aramis of course, and Aquaman popped by too. He’s a well built chap and can get a bit carried away.

Here’s to tooth improvement continuing Fancy.

Lovely weather here too. I’m on load six of washing I think. I’ve lost count. I’ve been lying on a sun lounger and nearly fell asleep, but fortunately I was saved from this by DS2 coming outside for a chat Hmm

Downside of so much washing is a fuckton of ironing and the beds need remaking.

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 21/09/2019 17:04

Maybe we should get a shagcarpet? Grin

LetUsPrey · 21/09/2019 17:48

Grin Wicked. A deep shag?

I’m watching Clueless. Paul Rudd barely looks any different. How is that fair?

ApricotCrush · 21/09/2019 18:42

Evening. Piles of washing done here too, and a mountain of ironing to do.

Grin WW.

Poor DD's got tooth trouble too. It's been coming on for a few days now, but it escalated last night at the wedding of the century. They were at a hotel, and the paracetamol she had with her she'd given to someone who had a headache, so she had a bad night. She's got to go to someone's 40th birthday meal this evening too. She does worry me, she does too much.

Better go and sort out something to eat. DH is still working at DS's but will be home soon.

LetUsPrey · 21/09/2019 19:43

Poor DD Apricot Sad “she does too much” hmm wonder where she gets that from?

Think I’ll watch Strictly tomorrow morning and just whizz through it. DH has said he’d like to watch Bohemian Rhapsody which is fine with me.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 21/09/2019 22:43

Evening all.

Today was mostly successful, though I did decide that cowardice discretion is the better part of valour, and didn't ask which carpet is best for avoiding carpet burns - it's obviously shag-pile (as wicked said) - so I didn't bother to ask. DS has got a new bedroom carpet ordered, and an off-cut of Star Wars carpet Hmm to act as a rug which made him absolutely happy as Larry. Though he will need to tidy his room before he can have his new 'rug'. (Who was 'Larry' by the way, and why was he so happy? It seems a bit suspicious.)

Anyway, we also picked up a big tub of wood stain and I have been up a ladder until it started to get dark, painting the cladding. This is a messy job, so I was in old and slightly small overalls. It was hot, so I didn't wear a t-shirt underneath. Not all the buttons are there any more - there's just one left between sternum and collar, but whatever. I was up a ladder painting, no big deal. DH was helping me move the ladder when the remaining button at chest level pinged off. Hmm I'm now looking like a rather inadequate participant in a cliched porn film (overalls and underwear) Shock, but the overalls aren't very gappy, and besides, I'm up a ladder facing the house while I paint - who's looking?
Am busy painting... footsteps on gravel - DH coming to see how I'm getting on? Nope. Next door neighbour - could he leave spare keys with us and can we let the electrician in and he'll show me where the meter is. Shock So I spend the next 10 minutes chatting to him and looking at his electricity meter with my arms firmly crossed and unable to explain my weirdly defensive posture to him because I do NOT want to put that image into his head. Blush Return to the house and update DH, who is highly amused. Return up the ladder, rolling my eyes at myself. Needless to say, no washing got done today.

So that was my day Grin

Fancy - I hope you're getting overtime for all this work?
LetUs - I shall wave a magic wand to get the beds made for you. the HBFs can also use their magic wands to help you make sure the sheets are properly fitted Grin
Urgh re. toothache for miniApricot - that's really rubbish timing Sad

LetUsPrey · 21/09/2019 23:39

Helen I’m sorry but that made me Grin x quite a lot

Also, Star Wars carpet? I need this. I bet Wicked would risk carpet burns to test its authenticity Grin —so would I—

Must go and make the beds... oh my goodness how did that happen? It’s like magic! I wonder if I close my eyes and wish really hard, whether anything else really magical will happen to my bed?

Close. So close.

Also BF in a cowboy hat does rather wondrous things for me, and indeed to me.

Morning wenches.

It is absolutely tipping it down.

Also I’ve woken up, not with an HBF sadly, with a massive headache. Waiting for the paracetamol to work its magic.

Have to go and collect my new glasses this morning and then take DS1 to sportingactivity. Lots of ironing and lots of DS2 homework.

Here’s hoping wenches have better weather and better plans.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 22/09/2019 08:55

Urgh LetUs Sad we have sunshine and so I need to get out on a ladder asap because it's not going to last. I have considered doing an Olivia Newton John and sewing myself into the boiler suit (because I haven't sewn the button back on yet, but I think I'm going to go for the 'sod it' route and work on the basis of 'sunday morning, no-one's about, and I'll be facing the house anyway'. Also I'll stick a vest top on underneath Grin (You were absolutely meant to Grin at yesterday's efforts, that's why I shared the amusement.) Grin

Hope the headache FTFO asap.

The carpet it, I think, just the words "Star Wars" and misc. x-wing type things. No Kylo to be rolling about on the carpet with. When it's unrolled I'll take a closer look.

LetUsPrey · 22/09/2019 10:56

New glasses collected.

Helen you could affix some Velcro to the front of the boiler suit. Remains easy access for Athos but with the added szhuzh of him ripping your clothes off Grin

Just wondering if I could persuade DH that we should have a Star Wars carpet anywhere.

Rain has stopped for now. Going to watch a bit more Strictly which seems to be business as usual with underscoring, overscoring, Strictlying free.

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 22/09/2019 10:58

So tired yesterday I almost nodded off on the sofa. Forgot all about Shetland and went to bed early. But I recorded it so I'm going to watch it today.

FancyFancy · 22/09/2019 12:17

Afternoon
Very grey here - but I'm not complaining as the garden needs watering.

No overtime sadly helen - well a bit for the additional half day I did

Hope your DD manages to get her tooth sorted apricot

Right, need to get on with some chores.....

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 22/09/2019 13:42

What a frustrating episode of Shetland, but at least there was some angry Perez and some kissing in the rain.

LetUsPrey · 22/09/2019 17:31

Ironing done. No HBI at sportingactivity again

Got a bit cross with DH and the DC earlier when they were all shouting at each other when watching the football. Told them to shut up and went upstairs. Can’t bear to think how they’d be if they didn’t support the same team.

I know exactly which episode you mean Wicked

Just seen the trailer for Joker. Looks very good.

I plan to do not much for the rest of the evening.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 22/09/2019 17:59

Have finished painting so that it has time to dry before the rain starts - I gather we are expecting 40 days and 40 nights of it (minor exaggeration)

I also picked lots of raspberries so I could make raspberry jam. Then I opened the cupboard to get some jars out... and found a cupboard full of raspberry jam Hmm Not quite sure what to do with today's haul now - have offloaded some onto DF. Will have some for pudding and freeze the rest I suppose.

WhereTAF is the HBI? This isn't good enough.

ApricotCrush · 22/09/2019 18:47

Evening. Much rain here too.

That's hilarious Helen, that's the sort of thing that would happen to me. Not that I'd be up a ladder but YKWIM. I usually get the postman knocking the door when I'm in awkward situations. Grin

Hope your headache has disappeared LetUs.

Last episode of Peaky Blinders tonight, that went fast. Confused

OP posts:
WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 22/09/2019 19:42

Why is it Monday tomorrow?

Done very little today, I folded the laundry from Tuesday and unpacked a box, that's about it.

LetUsPrey · 22/09/2019 20:12

Headache is coming and going.

Erm raspberry ice cream Helen? I have no idea unsurprisingly.

We’ve got a lot of rain forecast too. I’d quite like Saturday to be dry as that’s when DS1 and I will be doing another open day and I’d rather not be wandering about in the rain.

We’ve got ep1 of series 1 of Peaky Blinders on the box. I think we’d better finish Poldark first. I’m watching Japan with Sue Perkins. Bloody brilliant but the robots are worrying me.

Sounds fairly productive for a Sunday by my standards Wicked Grin

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 22/09/2019 22:09

Urgh to Mondays.

I think I'd better head towards the hayloft. If I start now then I may be in bed before midnight Hmm

LetUsPrey · 22/09/2019 23:13

And that’s Poldark done finally

Athos heard that bit about you being able to dislocate your jaw Helen. His interest was aroused.

Hayloft for me too.

Grin LetUs

Morning all. Damp and cloudy here today, and I need to deal with a pile of gently putrefying fruit Confused Oh the joys... (and yes, my own fault, I should have dealt with it sooner)

LetUsPrey · 23/09/2019 08:05

Morning wenches.

You obviously had better things to do Helen

Slept crap. Too hot - took duvet off, slept, woke up as too cold - put an extra sheet on.

New glasses are too tight so back to the opticians I go after work.

Have just realised the time. Oh crap.

FancyFancy · 23/09/2019 09:05

Morning

Lovely & sunny here Smile

I managed to finish Poldark in the week, seemed like a rather odd non-ending I thought.

Now to finish off Big Little Lies - only one episode to go. hoping to get out for a walk later with FancyMan, could do with getting outside for a change. Chores first this morning & getting the boiler serviced. Oh the thrills!
