And wenches can use their imaginations to make the temperature rise and anything else they can think of.

Morning all. Sunshine at the mo, so washing is on.

That was a very healthy walk Wicked - not just the exercise of walking, but then some weight training on the way home with the bottle(s). Was it a nice bottle?

Apricot - I've gone back to the 'hard work' and come to the conclusion that I don't know enough about philosophy and stuff - I'm and utterly lacking in that sort of language (maybe I ought to try reading 'Sophie's World again). The internet tells me that a nihilist is a person who believes that life is meaningless and rejects all religious and moral principles, while expressionism refers to art in which the image of reality is distorted in order to make it expressive of the artist's inner feelings or ideas. (Not 'fuzzy undetailed paintings' as I tend to think of it. Grin )
So... um. Yes. He thinks that life is meaningless except for peoples' experiences of it?! He like plays where you can make your own mind up about the outcome? (He was referring to Ibsen at the time...) I haven't got a clue Confused

Anyway, today is another round of too much food (going out for Sunday lunch) and socialising with visiting family, which will be fun. Maybe I should suggest walking to the pub for lunch. (3 miles or so) Then I will feel less bloated and tubby. Or at least less guilty about stuffing my face and doing no exercise.

In other news, I have annoying little bugs (tiny round little pinhead sized things) that keep crawling about on my laptop. I am coming to the conclusion that they must be living in it and am wondering how my laptop would react to a spray of indorex... If I go offline then you know that the reaction is 'badly'!

Morning wenches.

Quiet evening sounds lovely Fancy. Hope your sniffles/cold haven’t developed. I seem to be fine during the day but I’m currently a snotty mess. Gorgeous.

I was going to say that that stuff about nihilism was too much to think about at this time of the day, but to be honest I’d struggle with it at any time of the day.

Walk to the pub sounds a good plan. Not sure I’d say the same about spraying the laptop Grin

Watched part of a film that had Aidan Turner in it last night. At one point he was cross and chained to a chair. I’ve recorded it.

Better go and get in the shower and then get some ironing done - steady - before I take DS1 to sportingactivity.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 18/08/2019 11:07

LetUs - are you sure that was a film, and not CCTV playback from the Tavern? Wink

Ditto re. nihilism.

Also. WhyTAF is there a peacock in our garden? FFS. Piss off noisy messy bird. You are pretty, but I don't want you here. Angry I haven't chased it off yet though. Because 'pretty'. Still Angry, messy noisy stupid bird. Not the sort of 'pretty' that I really want in my garden

e.g. I'd be quite happy to find this sort of thing sitting under a tree... (specifically the first thing - other FAF is available of course)

Also, I haven't sprayed the laptop yet.

Morning
Still have a bit of a sore throat, but to be honest, not sure how much of that is due to the toothache now rather than the scratchy throat of yesterday.

It is sunny outside - probably should get the washing on the line.......

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 18/08/2019 11:52

Have randomly found out who owned the peacock, but it had strutted off before they got here.

Have also got washing in and have found no HBFs in the garden or chicken coop. Real Life is such a let-down sometimes. Sad

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 18/08/2019 11:55

Actually it was two 1 liters cartons -classy-- of wine Helen.

Hmm, I wonder if TB would join me for a Real Housewives marathon probably not Hmm

FancyFancy · 18/08/2019 15:52

Today I would be playing the washing hokey cokey, but I'm too lazy. It's all getting an extra rinse Grin

I'm actually quite surprised that neither of your cats had a go at the peacock helen!

ApricotCrush · 18/08/2019 17:00

Afternoon. The BBQ was fine, but although the rain kept off it did go cold and I'd left my cardigan at home. Hmm

I googled nihilism too Helen but it's all too deep for me. Who has time?

I once had an annoying bug on my iPad which I couldn't brush off and decided it was inside. Turned out to be a random full stop. Grin

I do like peacocks, but they are incredibly noisy. There used to be one where my Mum lived; fortunately she was deaf and didn't hear him.

Poldark tonight. The Duke of Savoy is very boring, I really don't care about him.

LetUsPrey · 18/08/2019 18:56

It was absolutely a film Helen. Honest. Just like that time with Aramis. And Thor.

Shock at peacock in your garden . I hate the noise of them too. There used to be one I could hear when I did a paper round early on a Sunday morning, down a very quiet and secluded road. It’d be all quiet and then PEACOCK.

I suspect TB would offer to distract you from the TV in many and various ways Wicked. Many Grin

Sad at toothache Fancy. Is that what stopped you from in, out and shaking it all about?

Totally agree with you re Duke of Savoy in Poldark Apricot, and we’re a couple of episodes behind but he’s been sodding annoying from the beginning.

I of course have Flowers in my garden all year round —I wish—

No HBI today. Did the ironing, watched some West Wing. Thrill a minute.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 18/08/2019 21:24

at Who has time? and the random full stop Apricot. I do actually have a dead thunderfly on the inside of my laptop screen, and I have been know to try and erase a full stop that turns out to be speck of dirt on the screen. (and I have sprayed my laptop to try and get rid of weird little bugs)

OK LetUs - I believe you - it was absolutely a film. Hmm

The cats were busy being asleep Fancy (it's a hard life, etc) - and I think that even they are not quite that stupid as to take on a full grown peacock.

Boxes of wine are very practical Wicked and environmentally friendly - not having to transport that weight of glass about.

Hayloft time for me I think...

LetUsPrey · 18/08/2019 22:47

Athos hopes he isn’t too late to catch up with you in the hayloft Helen

We’ve finished I Am The Night. Very good. Will do Poldark over the next few nights.

I should also head to the hayloft.

LetUsPrey · 19/08/2019 07:31

Morning wenches. It’s actually sunny!

Mid to end August though so I’d have thought hayfever would have fucked off by now. If it has, then my eyes and nose have found something to be irritated by. Whinge whinge whinge.

Hope it’s sunny where the wenches are and there are many HBFs.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 19/08/2019 09:43

Athos can always catch up with me LetUs - even if I have to lie aroudn waiting for him Grin

It's sunny here too and the washing is on.

I have discovered the source of the bugs. Fecking chickens. They have mites which are getting onto me in the morning and then when I sit down with the laptop they're transfering over (presumably because it's warm and might turn out to be a chicken). Mr Internet says that "Fortunately, the mites cannot live on humans, do not survive indoors, and are not known to transmit disease." Still. I'm going to have to blitz the chicken coop.

Also, work. The incredibly tedious project has staged a comeback and I need to do more work on it. why they didn't ask me to do the whole lot in one go don't know, but ho hum...

FancyFancy · 19/08/2019 10:34

Morning
Sunny here - but forecast says a chance of thunder later

I am sooooo with you on the Duke of Savoy apricot

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 19/08/2019 10:49

LOL at Duke of Savoy - I feel I should start watching Poldark so I can experience the tedium myself. Grin

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 19/08/2019 13:29

Nooo!!!!!!!! The rain-and-thunder-dance was for Fancy at her house - not me. FFS.

FancyFancy · 19/08/2019 15:59

Well I got the rain, but no thunder - can you try again, but this time dance harder? Wink

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 19/08/2019 16:27

No - I'm not risking another torrential downpour here - sorry! Grin
DIY?

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 19/08/2019 17:50

Did a mammogram today, ouch, but it goes really fast so that's good.

ApricotCrush · 19/08/2019 18:11

Evening. We had two thunderclaps this morning and some rain but otherwise a nice day.

at laptop turning out to be a chicken.

Has your toothache sorted itself out Fancy?

Boo to hay fever and mammogram.

Shock at Poldark.

Hold your breath wenches - I've bought a new phone. Shock Will see if this one works (when it arrives) and if I can manage to transfer my contacts etc Confused

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 19/08/2019 18:36

PS - Wicked - you'll need to be thoroughly checked over for bruising by Dr Ren. Wink

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 19/08/2019 19:12

Yes, yes I do Helen Grin

LetUsPrey · 19/08/2019 20:16

Evening wenches. That sun didn’t last long. Rain mcrainington today. We had a thunderclap one day last week and I thought of Fancy when I heard it.

Have you considered the chickens have been coming inside when you’ve been out Helen and using your laptop? Have you checked your browsing history? There’s a joke to be had there about big cocks Grin

Good luck with the new phone Helen.

I’m sure Doctor Ren also said something about kissing things better Wicked.

I had been hoping to start catching up with Poldark tonight. I think we’re on episode 4. However, the football is on.
