ok basically i have liked this person for about 3 months. he works in a bar i regularly go to. he seems really nice and he has no gf oh and he lives near me too. he even does crazy dancing and uses phrases that i use. it's like we are a match made in heaven haha. i once got talking to his brother in the pizza place but didn't find out til ages after he was his brother. typical!

my way of getting to talk to him was that i was going to message him on myspace saying oh aren't you the one that works in so and so. but on his profile page he says i work in so and so and now i'm out of ideas!!

there's no way i could just go up to him. i always try and get served by him, cos then i wouldn't mind chatting to him whilst he served me cos there'd be a reason but i couldn't just go and say hi. i have been served by him a few times. he remembers me cos when he does he always takes the piss about how much blackcurrant i have in my cider and black. (i know not v sophisticaed but its the cheapest thing in there!)

i wouldn't know what to say. i mean its a bit infantile to say oh i really fancy you isn't it. he does know 2 people i used to go to school with who i could possibly get to drop a hint but isn't that even worse. its like in the playground when you'd have to go and say my friend fancies you. and then there's the fact he's bloody gorgeous and probably wouldn't look twice at me.

brilliant! you're even younger. i read what you'd said about those boys saying that shite about the footballer but honestly, it is just that. my cousin, the prettiest thing you've ever seen , was told she was ugly by a boy at school (who probably fancied her, let's face it) and she suffered from low self esteem for years. please don't waste your time with it.

it took her fifteen years to get over it and it was only through doing brilliantly in her nursing career that she did. she has a lovely husband now but it took her years before she could get over the bullying and accept that she was lovely.

now, i'm speaking as someone who isn't particularly lovely, so it's not something i've been troubled with and in all sincerity i wouldn't have it any other way as i have never had any difficulty attracting good men - but i do think that being good-looking can be a bit of a burden, iykwim? as it especially makes teenage boys do weird things, the silly little wankers.

so seriously, congratulations, you're good-looking. and the best thing is that because of the silly wankers you've also developed a great personality. it's a world-beating combination, my girl!

i am on facebook, yes. course i don't really want to put my name on here, though.

nappyaddict · 23/07/2007 01:26

aitch can i just say i love you!! are you in the mumsnet group?

OP posts:
nappyaddict · 23/07/2007 01:29

they didn't say it to my face though, they said it behind my back which makes me think they actually thought it

my friend said it was probably one boy who had a problem with me said it and he was probably one of the cool ones so all the others copied so he would think they were cool too.

but at the time you don't believe stuff like that.

i can't believe i have let a few silly boys affect me like this. stupid thing is at the time i didn't care or listen to them. i had male attention so it didnt bother me. its only now that i'm not getting any and i'm too afraid to make the first move that i realise it affecred me more than i thought.

well let it go Right Now. the opinion of a couple of silly wee wankers isn't goiing to hold you back, is it? i bet the 'cool guy' fancied you. seriously, i bet he did. teenage boys are such fannies like that.
yes am part of the mn group. i'll have a look for your photo tomorrow, will i? your baby is GORGEOUS, btw. i love that crash position photo he looks like a wee cowboy.

nappyaddict · 23/07/2007 01:45

no he didn't, he hated me and all other girls. (i went to a boys school the first year it started letting girls in. there was a lot of controversy. basically any way they could get at you they would)

i think a lot of the time they just do it to get laughs and cos it makes them look big or so they think.

i should think of my friend really. they used to call her legolas and she's had loads of really good looking boyfriends.

OP posts:
nappyaddict · 23/07/2007 01:47

and even if he does say no i guess it doesn't necessarily mean i'm ugly or anything. i just might not be his type. there's loads of people my friends would die to be with but if they asked me out i'd turn them down. doesn't mean they are ugly or anything, plenty of other girls think they are great - just might not be my type.

lol, i remember poor danny kendall suffering in the same way. (ancient grange hill school-merging reference that you'll never get in a million years). aye, legolas should give you a clue. was she blonde? how imaginative. it's an amazing feeling shaking off school shite, isn't it?

Aitch · 23/07/2007 01:49

precisely. he might just knock you back because of your well known personal hygeine issues, for example. doesn't mean that you're not a looker.

Aitch · 23/07/2007 01:49

er, hygiene... tut tut.

nappyaddict · 23/07/2007 01:49

yes this is her

we call it her now but cos she's also a leggy blonde.

OP posts:
nappyaddict · 23/07/2007 01:50

personal hygiene issues?

OP posts:
Aitch · 23/07/2007 01:53

she looks delish to me. but then orlando bloom also looks like a gurl i think. not my type.

Aitch · 23/07/2007 01:53

i'm joooooking...

nappyaddict · 23/07/2007 01:56

princessmel · 23/07/2007 13:00

Hi nappy, what did you put in your reply?

Oooh you got 2 kisses!!!

nappyaddict · 23/07/2007 14:03

i know, i swear it was only one when i read it lol! i must have seen 1, nearly fell off my chair and not noticed the other.

haven't replied yet don't know what to say. do i lie about the hair cut even though i think it's naff?

OP posts:
princessmel · 23/07/2007 14:28

Say it suits him. That way you don't need to say if you like it or not.

Ask him out!!! Go on
Does he know you have a lo btw??

nappyaddict · 23/07/2007 14:44

i don't know. i assume he's looked at my myspace page which has pics of ds on it.

but it doesn't suit him!!

i said i personally preferred it before but you look great either way.

he's just asked me what i'm up to this week. i replied saying i was doing something every day cos i didn't want to sound like a loser who sits at home all the time but i just thought what if that was a subtle way to see if i was free. goddamit i never think these things through. see the first reply i made without mn's help and i mess it up.

Dumbledior · 23/07/2007 15:03

Say, 'although I'm busy, do you fancy a drink next week?'

allgonebellyup · 23/07/2007 15:08
