Watched Shetland. Bloody loved it.

I now need to head to the hayloft. A decent night’s sleep would be nice, in the absence of actual HBFs.

Morning wenches. You know that good night’s sleep I was after? DS2 had a nightmare and decided he needed to sleep with us. At 4am. To be fair, he wasn’t wriggly or anything and it was lovely to have cuddles from him, but that combined with anxiety dreams means I’m knackered.

Had a rather lovely dream where I was Lady Rowena and was flirting with De Bracy. I always thought the bad knights were a lot more interesting than boring Ivanhoe.

Urgh for bad night sleep - even if it does involve a snuggly DS.

Our dream prompts went slightly awry last night.. I an't remember exactly what my dream was, but it involved apricot and no HBFs. The 'no HBFs' might have been commented on actually during the dream.

Welcome home Fancy - did you bring cheese? And yes, I was particularly at my subconscious sending me off to the loo the moment the HBF sat down. Especially on my own and FFS. etc.

I can't look at that pic without holding my breath. I hate being underwater. It comes from my swimming teacher pushing me into the deep end when I wouldn't jump in. Scarred for life.

We had almost the identical experience Apricot. First ever swimming lesson, told to jump in at the shallow end which was six feet deep(!), got the fright of my very young life, and kept going under.

Hope the homework got done without too much trauma.

I don't remember swimming lessons at school. I just remember having to get out of the pool at a 'gala' when I was 5 or 6 because they wanted us to swim underwater and I couldn't. #ScarredForLife Or not

I am tired though, and should go to bed really. Though I'll just sit watching TV...

Oooo, at similar swimming lesson traumas. I used to dither on the edge every week dreading the hand on my back. She never told me to hold my nose and I hadn't got the sense to do it, so I used to come up coughing and spluttering.

Having read Rosmersholm I'm quite surprised they've done that shoot for the publicity photo, beautiful though it is.

Going back to Shetland, I wondered where I'd seen Alice before. She was Madame de Maintenon in Versailles.

I know nothing about Rosmerholm apricot - is the image completely irrelevant or a total spoiler? Should I read it?

I think I taught myself how to swim underwater in the end, purely on the basis that if I was breathing out, then there was no way that the water could also go up my nose. Only too be 25 years or so

Took DS2 to his swimming lesson. He was very happy because DS1 came with us and he’s also played football with him at home.

Not sure if sportingactivity is happening later. DS1 is claiming tiredness. Also I’ll have to take DS2 with me as DH is out, and he wants to watch the England match. I’ll try to persuade him.

Think I’m going to order the American Gods book Helen and then give the programme another go.
