Well I did watch an ep of Les Mis last night. Is it just me, or is it preposterous tosh? I mean, have Valjean & Javert discovered the fountain of youth? The latter looks as baby-faced as when he started and needs to lose the sub-Idris accent & the former fought off 6 armed assailants despite having one hand tied to the table & being, at a conservative estimate, in his mid-fifties

Have got hideous spreadsheet top create at the moment and my brain is struggling to cope. DS also got sent home from school for not being well (yeah, right...) though he has been very good all day and not been a pest.

I just got tea out of the fridge and discovered that there's about two portions. Not three. FFS. Omlette for me, just for the convenience factor..

Also bloody nippy today, washing got mostly dried on the line, so that was good.

Well I just had a relaxing bath so that's why Helen I actually had to pee and saw Letus' naughty post

Some parts of Les Mis were good, although I forget which bits. I liked Derek Jacobi. But blimey most of it was aaaarrrggggghhh and I spent a lot of time thinking “for the love of mud Javert, get over it”.

Third series Shetland is young man went missing on a ferry, was found later in a container, there’s some drugs that a little boy found washed up on a beach, and I think Ciaran Hinds is in it. No love interest as yet but here’s hoping!

Hope MiniHelen is okay. Spreadsheets are still a mystery to me so I am doubly impressed by your efforts Helen.

DH called in to see LovelyMIL today and she is much improved thankfully.

DS2 did his homework when asked and without complaining tonight. I am hoping for similarly unrealistic occurrences like HBFs rocking up.

Ooohhh - DS yesterday had the sheer cheek yesterday to complain about what hard work it was to find clean clothes for him to wear in the morning. My CBF was epic I did snarl gently point out that he should try doing that as well as everyone other bloody job in the mornings. I think we shall add 'getting clean clothes out' to the bedtime routine. Have fallen into the trap of doing EveryBloodyThing myself because it's easier and it gets stuff done. Will have to grit my teeth and deal with the tedium of using the cattle prod gently encouraging DS to do more.

Morning. Looks hideous out there today Ought to get moving, have friends arriving tonight so need to be home at a reasonable time.

Afternoon. We've had rain, hail, sun and lots of wind today.

The central heating conked out this morning, second time in a week. This always happens when we have the boiler serviced. British Gas guy came out and has spent nearly all day getting it to work. It's now making a weird whining noise.

DH went to fetch DGS from school and he's lost his bike. He took it for his cycling lesson and it's now missing from the shed which the teacher said was locked and wasn't. DGS thinks another boy has taken it home as he has the same bike. But there are no bikes left in the shed. Honestly, how do these things happen? My kids never lost a bike.

Update on the bike. Apparently it was in reception. His Daddy had arranged to collect it when he came home from work, but nobody else seemed to know.

Hope the boiler’s fixed properly soon Apricot. If not, you’ll just have to wrap up warm in HBFs. Actually you should do that anyway. Pleased that MiniMiniApricot’s bike turned up. I look forward to the rest of series 3 of Shetland then!

Thank goodness the bike turned up, but FFS at the lack of communication though.

I have a minor headache (probably work-induced) and need to do the packed lunch and then hayloft things.

Hope Fancy's having a nice evening with friends, and LetUs has recovered from the excitement of emptying the washing machine (will send HBFs to revive her in case it was all too much) and that Apricot's boiler has STFU (but is still working) and that Wicked is all packed and ready to move.

This is what I imagine Apricot's engineer should look like...
