I remember watching the Triffids thing on the telly Apricot. If I recall correctly, they weren’t terribly friendly You’ll be needing Athos and Marchal to fight back the greenery and to protect you.

Went for my asthma check up. All good. She asked if I’d had a pneumonia jab as I get the flu one in the autumn because “it’s not the flu that’ll kill you, it’s the pneumonia”. Said I’d have one, thinking I’d have to come back in a few weeks. Nope. “I’ll just go and get it”. Fucking hurt too.

Have been watching some of the European Championships. Bad news Fancy (if you’ve not already seen it) - Kevin had three no jumps in his long jump and I think he’s pulled out of the competition. Hope you don’t put him off his stroke in other events

Evening. Long day at work with a long commute & it is stinking hot here. We did have a smattering of rain that got my hopes up. And then it stopped.

DD is much better thanks, not sure what it was but after a morning nap yesterday she was already looking better. Then followed a light snack & an afternoon nap

I did watch the final Versailles last night, such a shame it's finished

It’s gone quite cool here and we’ve got rain coming tomorrow, dry Thursday, but then rain from Friday afternoon to Monday. It’ll perk up again when I go back to work next week.

Had planned to watch Versailles tomorrow night as was expecting DH to be out until about 10. He’s just told me he’ll probably be back around 8.30. Tut.

we had a power cut I nearly had to socialise with DH but then the power came back on so we could cook by electric light rather than candles and we watched (finally) another episode of Versailles. Only Ep 3, but Madame de Maintenon is missing a trick - "You will never kneel before me again." Reeally? She's not read enough tav historical literature

We’ve watched another episode of Lucky Man. Very good.

I’m now watching The Killers at TRNSMT in Glasgow on iPlayer as it disappears off iPlayer tomorrow at 4am. I have of course not already watched most of it in sections on my iPad, and I’ve also not already checked that it’s on YouTube.

The MiniHelen situation sounds ever so familiar. You have my sympathies Helen.

I do those first three things on a daily basis , although the screaming obscenities one tends to be done in my head.

DS2 discovered the European Championships yesterday. He gets very interested in it all which is obviously an improvement on Power Rangers and Pokemon, but aaaarrrggghhhhh the chatter is constant. (I was like this as a child though and when the Little Miss Chatterbox book came out, I acquired a nickname. Perhaps this is the universe’s revenge on my mother’s behalf).

We went to water DS's allotment this morning. He told us to help ourselves to raspberries which we did and I've made some jam. Nothing like homemade raspberry jam. Well, you know, in the food department...

We're catching up with season 2 of Outlander, and some of it is filmed in Prague. We both shouted out when we saw the Strahov library. There are also some parts in the streets by the Charles Bridge just down from our hotel. It's become 'spot the location'.

You could always combine the nothing better than raspberry jam with the other nothing better than
