The bionic knee's recovering well thanks Fancy, but he's a looooong way from playing golf. He did drive on his own to DD's the other day when I wasn't ready, but that's only up the road.

This morning I drove to DS's estate agents in a village I seem to have a mental block about.

Have had a good day. Swimming was surprisingly fun. Ice cream was as delicious as I remember and the rain held off whilst we ate them . Been for a walk with DS1 at his suggestion

Carrying on with Neverwhere and, you’ll be relieved to know, the lack of alcohol is no longer an issue.

Argh at both mansplaining and vague directions, and phew for the alcohol status chez LetUs

And hurrah for Neverwhere - I took my copy to get signed once and he was very surprised to see an old BBC edition

Finally remembered to watch that Good Omens trailer sort of thing. Very excited about that.

I spotted some of those pre-mixed cocktails in a can in the supermarket and, would you believe it, my current favourite was reduced to clear! I took all the cans that were left (there were only eight) as I felt it would have been rude to leave any behind.

Not just polite, but sensible to make full use of the special offer.

Today has been a cat vom day, but fortunately DH cleared up most of it. We also filled a waterbutt - and it promptly fell over, FFS. Inconvenient cat has just climbed up onto my lap and started purring his head off. He knew I was about to get up to make tomorrow's packed lunches and head for the hayloft. It is hard to be cross when he's so adorable

Oh well... hope Fancy and miniFancy are enjoying their play...

Watched a bit of Brandon performing The Man, and then watched the beginning bit of When We Were Young from the concert at the Royal Albert Hall where he asks whether I’m (because he’s obviously talking to me) to receive it as hard as I can receive it. It is only, as you point out Helen, polite and sensible, particularly when addressed in such a way by an HBF, to reply FOR THE LOVE OF EVERYTHING FUCKING YES!

I did manage to get good tickets thanks & a fun evening was had by all. As we were a bit early for the theatre, DD & I went window shopping & tried on the most stupidly high heels in the shop. We found a pair that defeated both of us. Unless we only wanted to wear them to stand still in.

Am rather pooped as have been out of the house all day & evening

We are back from family —argument— day out. The place we wanted to go to has shut down, something we only discovered when we got there. Still, we drove a bit further and found a castle to visit we’ve never visited before which the DC actually enjoyed. I did my usual trying to imagine that people had walked where I was walking for hundreds of years and my poor little brain went nope.

Off out for a meal this evening.

I’ve finished Neverwhere Helen. I had remembered who the baddie was from when it was on the radio (can’t think why that stuck in my mind ) but the rest was quite fresh for me IYSWIM.

I have had lovely evening out with friends and DCs - fish and chips on the sea front. Unfrotunately I also have a cracking headache. It can FTFO. But it is fighting back completely ignoring the drugs so far so I'm going to bed.

Hurrah for Family argument day out with new castle, shopping with DDs, and everything else that my brain has failed to retain.

Been for a long walk up the hills this morning. Going to have lunch then it’s swimming and possibly another ice cream. I believe that’s the law when you’re on holiday.
