I am not impressed with DS2’s behaviour today. Am also not impressed with my own stupidity of not checking what time Next closes on a Saturday. It was shut when I got there. So I went into M&S and bought some new booze to try.

Ooooooh - LetUs - you are my guru now. I cleared out DS's room of all the piles of clothes and sorted through them. I now have a box of charity shop clothes, a box of clothes for rags, and one of hand-me downs to be put away for a year because they're way too big! They might not make it up to the loft, but they're tidied and sorted ready fro when they do fit. Admittedly, knowing me, i'll forget about them completely and they'll be too small by the time i remember, but at the moment it feels like we won't have to buy him any clothes for at least a year!

Where shall we get them to whisk us to? An nice exclusive spa with very discreet staff? Secluded log cabin? City break where we can breeze through warm sunny streets and eat outside in street cafes, and act as though we're in a tourism advert? Hmmm... I think we should probably try them all on rotation.

I like those suggestions, particularly the secluded log cabin. But I think you’re spot on that it would be wise to try all options just to make sure. I’ll add a very private beach villa somewhere hot, and a couple of cottages - one in the countryside and one by the sea in a colder location.

We're watching a programme about drumming who knew it was all so complicated? I'm having a Jon Snow moment (knowing nothing - not perving) It's fascinating though.

DS1 drums, or at least he did when he was at school. His sheet music for it looks very complicated. DS2 wants to start. I suppose we’ve got the drumsticks already.

It was DGS's birthday yesterday so they had a sort of open house for people and children to come and go as they wished. Most of them stayed so we had a housefull by the end. Poor mite got a bit over-tired. I found him in a heap on the floor sobbing "My day is ruined...." A balloon had been burst.

DH is back there today building stud walls and doing plumbing and no doubt annoying the neighbours.

Scruffy is very cute and oh, Motson is -was heart-shaped.

Good luck with the drums LetUs. As I may have said before, DS played the drums in a group. He didn't have sheet music, but he did have lessons. He was very good, I used to enjoy their gigs even though it was heavy metal and we often didn't get home until 2.30am. He had to give it up when the DC arrived as they were playing venues further afield and he couldn't cope with a job as well.

DH, for some —stupid fucking— reason, yesterday has told DS2 about the song Yellow Submarine. DS2 didn’t believe him. DH asked the Amazon Echo to play it. So now, at various points throughout the day, DS2 is shouting “Alexa play Yellow Submarine”. Sick to fuck of hearing it.
