Sheesh wenches, I'm pooped. We've been doing that walking up-and-down thing on hilly scenery today. My poor legs don't know what hit them - the stepper is clearly not a realistic impression of hill walking. The scenery was lovely though, and the cream tea at the end was nice too

I think DS has another cluedo marathon planned for later...

Evening. The BBQ went well, we were sitting outside until 9.30. We'd got bats flying around which rather disturbed DGS. I told him they were lovely and next thing he'd got DH's phone and found a video of baby bat orphans who were being fed by hand and wrapped up in dusters. It was so awwww! He then wanted me to catch one for him.

Last Monday was utter shit. After today at work, I look back on it with fondness. Bloody hell. Anyway, that part of the day is done and I can enjoy my birthday. I’ve been very lucky with lots of very lovely gifts and kind wishes from many people. And OMFG at all those HBFs being ever so keen and eager to give me special birthday treats!

Work was marginally better than yesterday. Jeez, thinking about it, that bit sounds like my diary in the late 80s/early 90s. Complaining about how insanely busy I was at work, —how I fancied my boss and eeeeeekk he smiled at me and was really funny today—, and wouldn’t I ever have a boyfriend.

Had to take DS1 out to get some photos for his new travel pass. Told him we’d be leaving in a few minutes. Then told him I was waiting. He said he needed to do his hair. Many many many minutes later we finally left the house, but not before he nearly made it back upstairs to change his t shirt because he wasn’t sure it was the one he wanted to be wearing on his pass The photos turned out very well though which isn’t surprising because he doesn’t seem to take a bad photo, unlike me which is massively unfair actually.

So today I have washed, ironed, been to the dentist (hygienist), picked more raspbrries aided and abetted by the Manager at the allotments, I now know his life story whether I want to or not, made more jam, cooked, cleared up and now I'm knackered.

Evening, managed not to kill each other and mostly had a fun day out, (Go Ape is fun, but a bit tiring) and a very nice pub meal.

I cooked up a bunch of raspberries this morning before they went off. And then they just tasted foul, so I threw them away. my own stupid fault for not cooking them up sooner. Ho hum...

Nothing exciting to report apart from that.

I’ve started a jigsaw tonight. I shall have to be very firm with myself so I’m not still up at 3am.

Ooooooh, I've just seen the date, it's our wedding anniversary. I can't expect DH to remember, but I usually say something before this time. He's gone to DD's to connect a TV, I'd better mention it when he comes home.

LetUs, we missed the first episode of Knightfall on catch-up so I've bought the DVD. May start it tonight. Some of it was filmed in the Czech Republic.

It’s been ages since I did a jigsaw. No cats to bother me here, just a DS1 who decided to rediscover his love of jigsaws and offered to help me. I let him do one side but had to leave strict instructions that he wasn’t to touch any of it whilst I was at work.

Thank you for remembering your anniversary Apricot. It made me think “shit what date is it?”. Ours is next week —I have forgotten before now—
