Yes, I did look at partridges, but they haven't got the colouring. I assumed the biggest was the mum because she's quite bossy with the other two, but she could be a larger juvenile. The black around her face is the same as partridges. Yes, please ask your friend Steve. We need to know.

We have had an amazing array of birds in the garden this year, the usual blackbirds, wood pigeons, robins, fucking magpies, but also jays, woodpeckers, collared doves, wagtails. I love to see them.

I’ll definitely take advantage of Steve’s expertise and then afterwards I’ll ask him about the birds.

Got to sleep more or less straight away last night and slept to just after 7. This is almost unheard of. Did dream about being about my mum’s, it raining and me having to bring the washing in so that’s more familiar

Oh well. Today I have been a rubbish mother. Dropped DS at SportingActivity and discovered that he didn't have relevant equipment because I failed to notice that it wasn't in the car when I shoved my bag in before leaving. DH saved the day and brought it in while I went to work. Entirely my bad

Evening wenches. Jeez this is the longest week ever. Feels like ages since I was on holiday.

DH is being a grump. Then I reminded him (again) about something for this evening which is also written IN BIG WRITING on the calendar which involves him going out. So he’s now in a bigger grump.

Helen, I took DS2 to sportingactivity on Sunday which he does after swimming. Discovered I’d only packed half his outfit and forgotten his drink. This has also reminded me to make sure I’ve got his swimming stuff in the car tomorrow.

Evening. Have been out to lunch with SIL and BIL. May be a bit tipsy.

DD & Co are moving house tomorrow. There seem to be dozens of us helping so it should be utter chaos fine. We have to be round there at 9 o'clock. I don't do 9 o'clock. I'm usually in bed with my breakfast and iPad.

DS is glued to TV here and showing no enthusiasm for the idea of going to bed, let alone having a bath. I'm going to have to be the boring spoil-sport parent who enforces bedtime, aren't I...?

DS2 is also bedtime reluctant/avoiding. I did the spoilsport thing earlier when I said he couldn’t watch another tv programme. DH just stood there, wavering FFS.

We’re watching another episode of Lucky Man. Matthew McNulty (TM S3 baddy who wouldn’t die) was in an episode the other night. Tonight’s episode has Tamla Kari and Ryan Gage in it

I think I had everything I need for DS, though this morning has been a bit full on so if he doesn't have it, it's too late now. Hurrah for remembering swimming stuff.

I think it would be entirely reasonable to return to the hayloft LetUs. You're very tired after last night, so you need more sleep.

I am trying to prep for family birthday, pack for a trip away to see the Outlaws, and everything else in between.
