I have cooked and baked and made lunches and I'm frankly knackered.

DH has put on University Challenge - this is an example of hope over experience. I shall fall asleep try to stay awake.

We took DGS to DS's allotment this morning and he watered himself the vegetables and dropped picked some raspberries. We stripped the canes four days ago and they were covered again today. I've made more jam, but have now run out of empty jars.

I like Alan Cumming too LetUs, loved him in The Good Wife. Will set the new series to record if we have it on Virgin Media. They're useless, we lost 10 channels the other week because they want to reduce what they pay to UKTV for them. DH complained and got a £50 goodwill payment. We'll have another go when this year's contract is up.

Yay for raspberry jam apricot - our raspberries have had a second coming having been stripped at the start of the season by desperate birds. We're having handfuls for breakfast again - along with the odd blueberry that the birds manage to miss.

Work was ok but simultaneously busy and boring. Whilst there we debated the merits of paying for access to celebs. There was a LetUs-style hypothetical 'rat up a drainpipe' comment if Tom Hardy was involved in something similar

DS got grubby at today's activity so there is a wash on, and he has mahoosive blisterrs. Woe am rather worried about what he'll be able to do tomorrow...

Oh, I hadn't read that about the kiss and make-up beween Virgin Media and UKTV. That's great. I hope we still get our £50, because we had other issues with them as well.

Regarding access to celebs, I think in this instance, the Cinema Museum night, the invitation is Tom's for a cause close to his heart, so he will be happy to mingle. No-one is forcing him to speak to people he doesn't want to. He will be well aware that people are there because of him rather than the cause and for someone in the public eye that must be flattering.

Anyway, I have had an evening of domestic tedium. Cooking, washing, sewing buttons on things, loading the fecking dishwasher, making packed lunches, cleaning up the kitchen.... I am so done with that shit and have earned a mooch on AO3 before I hit that hayloft with Athos...

Hello Fancy, hope you had a good time. Yes, we're as boring as ever. Apart from HBFs of course.

When I went to make a cuppa this morning the little bird family was on the terrace. Awwww. I thought they were mistle thrushes when I saw them the other day, but close up they're not. I have perused my Book of British Birds, and I'm really not sure. They look like quails but are far too big, they're about the size of a wood pigeon. The best I could do from their long legs and stubby tail is corncrake, which are farmland birds and we are on the edge of open countryside. Trouble is they're rare outside Scotland and Ireland.
