I have been to work. It was quite warm. I had to draft a document that involved doing lots of calculations and cross-referencing with other information. My brain melted.

He's never been away on his own before so it's a big thing for him.

...they go on a 4 day one in year 6...

So a bit nervy but exciting? DS2’s was the first time he’d been away on his own last November but that was beginning of Y6. He was utterly blasé about it.

Quite anxious...but excited too

And by blasé I mean he just didn’t really talk about it other than to answer direct questions, although when asked he’d say he was excited

Oooh, DS has his first school trip this month too! He's a bit wibbly about it. So am I, because he gets homesick (he says) when he's away fro home with me and DH - let alone without us! . I'm sure it will all be fiiiine

DS and I have been snuggled up in bed together doing horrible history quizzes

Work was 'meh' but I was busy so that was good. Apart from the bit where I had a last minute conversation along the lines of
"have you done XYZ?"
"Erm... I did ABC - did you ask me to do XYZ?"
"yes...?"
"Erm... nope - you didn't."
"Oh.. sorry - can you do XYZ?"
"Send me the details.."
...

So I ended up leaving at pushing 5:30 instead of 5pm. le sigh

It was lovely and sunny when I got up this morning. It's clouded over. Chick update - I appear to have stopped the rats getting in to eat the chick's food last night though there were rat droppings in the main chicken house.

I'm so anxious about the fire, a police car has closed off the road, constant noise from choppers, I can't relax, and when I get anxious I eat so I just stuffed my face with donughts. I'm probably overreacting but I can't wait until this is over.
