GColdtimer · 16/05/2007 09:22

Has anyone actually had a reply from them. I emailed them - the director's email address is:

[email protected]

If anyone wants to do the same.

GColdtimer · 16/05/2007 09:23

And I have just noticed the time on some of your posts. Are you in a different part of the world or do you just stay up late??

islandofsodor · 16/05/2007 12:02

They knew about the boycott. I never made a secret of that fact over the last 4 years that I would not like to ever see nestle advertising because of it.

I had a lovely answerphone message from them and I do hope to return in 7 months time. don't think they will ever let me back on the private forum though which is where most of my friends were.

islandofsodor · 16/05/2007 12:03

VVV, you can't de-register on your own. You need to send an email with your email address you are registered under to your local suite editor.

JoolsToo · 16/05/2007 12:08

blimey - you use other parenting forums? [shock}

traitors!

SoupDragon · 16/05/2007 12:14

I hope no one gets netmums confused with mumsnet.

hunkermunker · 16/05/2007 12:15

IOS, that's a shame - you've been such a supporter of netmums.

I sent a message through the netmums site to be removed, but will also email my local editor.

I don't see Danone on the list of Nestle products!!! I was sitting next to a bloke on a plane who was from Nestle and saw slides of the sales of Danone. They keep that one quiet don't they??

islandofsodor · 16/05/2007 12:39

Are Danone not a competitor and he may have been comparing sales.

GColdtimer · 16/05/2007 12:39

hunker, the director's email address is [email protected] - I emailed but haven't had a reply...

MrsRecycle · 16/05/2007 12:47

If they were a competitor how would he get detailed sales information?

hunkermunker · 16/05/2007 12:49

Thanks, Twofalls - yes, I emailed her last night as well.

MrsR (hello!), Danone are a competitor, but they also flout the International Code re marketing infant formula

Excuse me, but when did it become illegal to advertise coffee? Everyone is welcome to join in boicoiting Nestle, but I don't think those parties are not promoting the product/ideas that originated the boicot should be "shamed" into joining.

I will not dare to compare Nestle with Cuba but seeing this bulleting by baby milk action, made me remember the famous statement issued by the American Government advising everyone (in and outside their borders) who traded/dealt with Cuba in anyway to stop it or face the consequences. Sorry.

Th

Chandra · 16/05/2007 13:12

Obviously the bulleting is not issuing such and statement but is shaming somebody into the boicot even when we are talking about a completely different product.

hunkermunker · 16/05/2007 13:12

It's a parenting site, Chandra.

Nestle have a record of being un-family-friendly, to say the VERY least.

Hence the problem.

Chandra · 16/05/2007 13:16

Which is the same as saying, I'm a mother, should I stop drinking Nescafe? (not that I drink it anyway... but helps to illustrate the point)

AitchTwoOh · 16/05/2007 13:17

but that's the point of a boycott, chandra, to hold a company responsible for their behaviour across the board. only women who buy formula would be able to protest at nestle's behaviour in the third world, using your logic.

AitchTwoOh · 16/05/2007 13:18

of course you should stop drinking nescafe. it's made by nestle. Confused

filthymindedvixen · 16/05/2007 13:25

I emailed netmums last night to register my disappointment and disapporval of the nestle advertising - especially during national breastfeeding week (ironically being promoted on the same site)

hunkermunker · 16/05/2007 13:26

I don't know what your point is, Chandra? Nestle make Nescafe.

OP posts:
Chandra · 16/05/2007 13:33

The only point is should we take a boicot voluntarily or being forced into it?

Just that, and for the record, I don't drink Nescafe or consume (to my knowledge) and Nestle branded product

Chandra · 16/05/2007 13:34

anY Nestle...
