I saw a woman in the Science Museum today, who really could only be described as having "let herself go"

Grey streaky "hanging" hair, huge arse and fat tum in grey tracky bottoms, footglove shoes, shapeless burgundy tunic top and hanging tits. She really looked like she had given up on life. In contrast, she had three dear little, divinely trendily dressed girls with her. She had obviously put a lot of thought and effort into what they were going to wear (down to the very funky hat one of them was wearing) but hadn't even spent five minutes on herself.

Why?

You was being derogatory about this poor lady and it's not nice.

Dinosaur · 16/04/2007 22:31

lucy5 - so was I!!!

chocolateface · 16/04/2007 22:31

Thankyou, Wotzaname, but I would rather wear crocs!

VeniVidiVickiQV · 16/04/2007 22:31

LGJ

I included the "kerching" factor though.

expatinscotland · 16/04/2007 22:31

Gees, who has time to notice this?

Sherlock, I would meet you any day and not give a fat rat's arse what you wore.

mummytosteven · 16/04/2007 22:32

nods sycophantically at LGJ in agreement. can't say I'ld fancy my appearance being torn to pieces like that.

Mercy · 16/04/2007 22:32

Mrs S, do you have any thoughts as to why there was such a contrast in the mum's and the girls' appearance?

chocolateface · 16/04/2007 22:33

The important thing is that they were happy and haveing a fun, educational day out. I bet those girls don't give a damn what she looks like (yet).

harpsichordcarrier · 16/04/2007 22:33

women beware women
what happened to the sisterhood eh?
I mean, seriously what happened to the sisterhood.

moondog · 16/04/2007 22:33

I'm with you all the way Mrs Sch.
No excuse for frightening innocent bystanders.

VeniVidiVickiQV · 16/04/2007 22:34

You'd drool over her boots though expat...she flashes them to all and sundry too

MrsJudgmental · 16/04/2007 22:34

Not only scruffy, but fat, unstylish and without a decent hairdresser.

Well, she should just give up now, really.

noddyholder · 16/04/2007 22:34

I agree chocolate face many perfectly turned out mums wouldn't bother taking their kids for a fun day out for fear of ruining their appearance. We really need to stop looking at each other like this girls, where does it stop?

VoluptuaGoodshag · 16/04/2007 22:36

Can I nominate LittleLapin for quote of the week with that t-shirt comment - priceless!

PMSL

SherlockLGJ · 16/04/2007 22:37

And rather splendid they are too....

expatinscotland · 16/04/2007 22:37

Well, I do have a penchant for nice shoes.

Really, though, isn't it about the person?

Gawd, I hope so.

expatinscotland · 16/04/2007 22:38

I had a man tell me he wished he could bottle my accent the other day .

I felt I looked a right state, though.

harpsichordcarrier · 16/04/2007 22:38

Nope.
it's about the shoes
Der.

MrsSchadenfreude · 16/04/2007 22:38

She may have been wearing a crap bra, true. I didn't have a feel.

Mercy - no, that's why I came on here! I was just genuinely intrigued.

(I did have the sense to alter the place I was, the number of children and the description of what she was wearing (slightly) in my OP.)

Mrs.S I did laugh at your description of this poor woman. I myself have shuffled out to the school run in some hideous outfits but this does sound particularly bad. In fact it describes the outfit I wear for those say-at-home-and-clean-toilets days.

I would hate to be caught in that outfit. I think you're being given an overly hard time but you've obviously touched a nerve with some of MNs fat old boilers.

SherlockLGJ · 16/04/2007 22:39

OK Volupta.............you can nominate LLapin. It was rather quick and clever.

But the original remains.

Spidermama · 16/04/2007 22:39

PMSL @ 'didn't have a feel' of her bra. Trinny and Susannah would have.

MrsSchadenfreude · 16/04/2007 22:40

Thanks for the G & T, PPH!

My sister once went to work (when i was staying with her) in an outfir that in all honesty I thought was a pair of pyjamas.

i seem to remember it was at a rather trying time in her life.
