Morning. My lie-in was rudely interrupted by Stupid Cat vomming on the bedroom carpet. DH thought it would be nice to let the cats upstairs with me when he went out with DS Hmm FFS. to be fair,it is quite nice having a cat on the bed, but not one hurling on the floor as well.

The weather is a bit baltic but also bright and sunny which is good.

That interview you posted was a lot more interesting than the other two Apricot. I've noticed those other two on YouTube are headed as 'Tim Burke' I'm easily amused.... to be honest I rather zoned out of the conspiracy theory one, though I was amused by the 'Flat Earth? Is that still a thing?' comment - and then Last Leg mentioned the Loon who is going to fly a rocket to 'prove the Earth is flat' Confused (But I didn't stay up late enough to see Jonnie appear either.)

Laters....

LetUsPrey · 25/11/2017 10:15

Morning wenches.

Grin at Tim Burke

Helen there are indeed still flat Earth believers. Apparently some of them think that there are NASA people at the edges to somehow stop people getting too close.

Plumber been round so the radiator is back on in DS2’s room. We’re going to Ikea today This time I’m going to make DH measure his car to make sure the packages will fit. If you see something on the evening news about a couple having an argument in an Ikea car park in the pissing down freezing rain with the woman saying “I told you to measure the car”, give us a wave Grin

Morning

Bloody cold & frosty here too. I am therefore sitting in bed watching Merlin Smile

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 25/11/2017 14:58

Have fun at IKEA Letus Smile

I went to a flea market and bought a carpet, a bedspread, a lantern and four frames for practically nothing. Everything in excellent condition. I love bargain therapy Smile

LetUsPrey · 25/11/2017 16:16

Wish I had something like that here Wicked near me. You always get good bargains!

We seem to have bought Ikea judging by the number of packages. What I find really conducive to a happy marital shopping experience is for one of us (me) to have carefully chosen everything from various options, fully discussing it and double-checking all room —and car— measurements, agreeing where it will all go, and printing off a fully itemised list of everything (about a billion packages) that’s needed, to then get halfway round the shop in the middle of Saturday afternoon and another person (DH) to start asking whether or not there are any different wardrobes we could get, perhaps we could consider this one, or what about this, and then get into a strop when they can’t understand why the first person is glaring at them with a look of utter incredulity on their face and saying no Angry

Anyway it’s all bought and it fitted in the cars —just—

Afternoon.

I noticed Tim Burke too. Idiots.

Well done with the shopping WW and LetUs.

So this morning we removed all the mesh covering the lawn and hanging CDs which are supposed to deter the birds, on the understanding (see life cycle of the chafer grub referred to yesterday) that when the temperature is under 10 degrees they go deeper into the ground and the birds cannot get to them. This afternoon we looked outside to find the lawn dug up again. Bastard magpies. Angry

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 25/11/2017 17:13

Apricot I recommend fencing the lot off and buying in some pigs and chicken to give the lawn a thorough going over. It won't help the lawn, but the Chafer grubs won't like it and you'll end up with most of a fried breakfast when you dispose of the pigs. Then you can re-lay the lawn in the spring.
(Supremely unhelpful of me, soz.) Sad re. your poor lawn.

Well done to LetUs on buying up all of a carefully selected number of items from Ikea, without killing DH, despite his best efforts to provoke you with spontaneous furniture substitutions.

Fancy Is there room on the broom in the bed for a wench like me? (I miss reading Julia Donaldson books to DS) i won't be there long, we're out tonight to a quiz night. Which I will enjoy, it's just the right now I'd rather have a bath and early night.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 25/11/2017 17:22

Also, forgot to say. twitter.com/TobyonTV/status/934347497597743105 Twitter says that TB is on TV tomorrow on a 'London Live' show that starts at 5pm
"Watch on Freeview 8, Sky 117, Virgin 159 and YouView 8 or stream online"

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 25/11/2017 17:29

Well done with the shopping Letus and for not killing your DH. Here you go Wine

When you visit me I can take you to the good flea markets/car boot sales Smile

Sad Apes. Have some Wine you too.

LetUsPrey · 25/11/2017 18:07

I have an idea. MrLetUs can help MrApricot with the gardening and Apricot can come up here and drink wine and watch Musketeers/Strike/anything with me.

Love a quiz night. Good luck Helen.

I’ll bring an empty case Wicked!

It was bloody lovely. One of those freezer cocktails that you buy liquid, put in the freezer, and then it’s like a slushie. Laaahhhhvley

Have just watched NCIS and I have sobbed - happy tears - at the ending.
