Grey and miserable here too, but am off out for the day to be all cultural so hopefully won't need to look at it! Must get ready as have a few things to do before heading out.

It's also dark, raining and windy here. you know that washing I left out on the line last night? oops. Oh well, Nature's rinse cycle is doing it's job very enthusiastically.

DS has another lie-in this morning. He's well knackered still, bless him. Why can't he have multiple lie-ins on non-school days? Sod's law and all that.

Horrible day here too. Caught up with Strictly this morning.

Did the food shop this afternoon while DH did the school run, well, hobble in his case. DGS treated us to a rendition of Jingle Bells many times in the style of the X-Factor, which had to be explained to us as we don't watch it.

I feel exhausted, don't know why.

God I hate Mondays!

Watching Merlin - Uther is such a pillock

I have cut lots of tiles, but now found that we probably need to change the sockets which are partly surrounded by tiles - which are thicker than the sockets. FFS. A pattress socket may be the way to go.

DS was watching Merlin - the one where Arthur fights Emilia Fox and loses. Probably because he fancied her and just wanted to fall at her feet, and gaze up at her. (I may be wrong, I was in and out cooking tea)

We are now watching University Challenge, but I'm paying attention at all.

He only has eyes from Gwen. He was proper pissed at being beaten by a woman

We have a socket issue in DS2’s room too, although not as complicated as involving tiles. There’s only one double socket in his room and I’ve only just realised that’s the wall where his new furniture will be going. Bollocks. —not that we’ve actually ordered any new furniture yet—

Floorboards up, run a spur and put a double socket on the other side as well?

I have no idea what's going on in Merlin tbh - DS is very bad at explaining it all.

Might suggest that to DH before the new carpet goes down next week. I’m sure we did something similar downstairs somewhere.

Tonight I shall be painting (colour going on the walls), ordering blinds, and making a list of furniture needed from Ikea. Then we shall have to plan a trip to Ikea where the only thing that shall get me through the experience is thinking of Wicked —and testing the mattresses with HBFs—
