I am officially turning into my mother & now actually like rhubarb. Especially with ginger, in a crumble with custard.

I was watching Bladerunner, Director's Cut letus - quite funny to see what I remember from my teens & trying to work out if I didn't remember a bit because I've forgotten, or whether it didn't make the edit of the version I saw originally.

Both DC have been charmless little shits today, they are both one act of ingratitude away from being added to my ebay listings

comtess!!!! Wil try not to add to the homesickness by mentioning traditional British puggings. Properly PMSL over misdirected WhatsApp messages. I'm now off to Google that article........

FancyFancy · 25/09/2017 17:53

Puddings FFS

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 25/09/2017 18:45

Crumble! We have left over apple/pear/raspberry crumble and custard still Grin if I can just stay awake for long enough....

LetUs - I think your double hyphens are auto-correcting to one long hyphen. That's what your posts look like anyway.

at ebaying ungrateful children fancy - damn good idea at times...

Badders08 · 25/09/2017 20:31

Well, the cupcakes went down well 😁
Fingers and everything else crossed that ds1 is discharged tomorrow wenches! 😣

LetUsPrey · 25/09/2017 21:08

Fingers crossed re DS1 Badderz

Love puggings Grin. eBay them or charity shop Fancy. Hope you enjoyed the film.

I think you’re right Helen re my double hyphens. Balls.

Have spent all evening at the high school. It took miles longer than expected and now we’re all really tired. (got to see the HBF teacher though)

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 25/09/2017 22:38

Ooooooooooooh - the teachers at our open evening all looked about 12 Shock why didn't we have HBFs? Oh well.

didn't have crumble - DS brought home tray baked chcolate brownies which were mroe of a chocolate lava cake... yum!

Have just watched Electric Dreams pt. 1 - DH most unsatisfied with ending being left up to your imagination re. what happened next.

Off to the hayloft now - night all. HBF dreams all round

LetUsPrey · 25/09/2017 23:00

Music teacher so one would hope for good rhythm and strong fingers Grin and I believe he can be quite stern

Re Electric Dreams, I reckon she left him to it. I didn’t want her to but I think she did.

Happy HBF dreams

FancyFancy · 25/09/2017 23:02

Absolutely, good luck badders

DC have been better since the afternoon, fortunately. I have been ironing & baking a cake Now to put my feet up......if only I had an hbf on standy-by for massage purposes.

LetUsPrey · 25/09/2017 23:14

If only Fancy. Bet he’s got strong fingers

Swagger Inn 150: The one where the wenches do Strike (analysis) and that Santi Salvation thing.
FancyFancy · 25/09/2017 23:22

And I do like strong fingers.....How fortunate I'm seeing FancyMan again tomorrow Grin

Fab pic btw

LetUsPrey · 26/09/2017 00:30

Lucky FancyMan - remind him to flex first Wink

Really should head to the hayloft

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 26/09/2017 07:57

Morning.
I reckon you're right LetUs - I can imagine the entire AIBU board screaming LTB!!!!!!!!!! at her as she waltzes off to let him burn Grin would like to think it all ended happily ever after though.... It was very blade-runner-ish (dystopian, two characters on 'opposite sides end up with mroe in common than they think, etc etc....)
Badders - did you see it? It had Rob Stark in it being a bit of a shit.

I have a random day-swap for work today (lack of childcare, basically) so I shall mostly be at home trying not to waste the day... Hmm

comtess - it was Madame who posted the Good Omens pic. It's been on twitter and all sorts since last week (and Aziraphale's shop is in Soho, not Oxford - #PedanticGeek)

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 26/09/2017 08:17

Anyway, was the open evening useful LetUs? (apart from the main aim of assessing the HBF status of their teachers?) DS was an awkward sod too shy v. reluctant to go in to start with, so we missed the bit where everyone was sat down in the hall for a motivational "blah, blah, we're such a good school" talk by the head (bonus!) But as soon as we were in the science lab burning things
doing experiments, he decided that this was a very good school Grin there's another one with an open evening later this week which we may go to as well...

Better get dressed and do school run... laters.

LetUsPrey · 26/09/2017 08:35

Morning wenches.

When the flashback was shown/he let her read him in Electric Dreams I did a proper gasp.

It’s more or less decided that’s where DS2’s going anyway. DS1 is there, it’s unlikey to be oversubscribed and it’s more or less across the road but we wanted to see how things have changed in the last few years. There have been lots of improvements so that’s good (fitness suite was a big hit and he actually had a go instead of not moving or speaking) , although some things never change such as one of the science teachers setting fire to the lab ceiling Grin. What is it with science teachers and fire? Not complaining though!

Suppose I’d better chivvy DS2 along. I have another day at home but have a bit of shopping to do.

FancyFancy · 26/09/2017 08:40

Morning

Something to be said for the very local option letus And I think it is obligatory for science teachers to set fire to stuff & blow thing up at open evenings Grin

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 26/09/2017 09:31

Definitely obligatory - ours was sending fireballs up to the ceiling. DS just got to burn little stick thingies and guess what was on them according to the colour of the flame... I see that bunsen burners haven't moved on in a lot of years. #DesignClassic Grin There was also some pH stuff going on with pipettes and test tubes turning different colours.

Their dissection effort was plastic models - not a whiff of formaldehyde going on there.

LetUs - I was also Shock 'you utter bastard' when she 'read' him.

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 26/09/2017 12:57

Just checking in, hope all wenches have a good day Smile

Comtess · 26/09/2017 14:29

Helen I knew that would annoy you but was just slightly baiting Madame really.

I'm just back from a pretty quick 13k but my knee did a nasty click when I stumbled into a gutter and now is a bit sore. Bollocks.

Whilst this sounds good coming from me, I am a huge advocate of local schools. All mine were local primary nearest us and all had excellent results at ks2. Big ones all we to local Sec which was a few miles bike ride away and also got excellent results plus independence of getting there on their own and organising themselves. It would have to be a massive shit hole for me not to do so. Also helps that friends are all local for mum taxi purposes.

Also, have you seen that Kit has allegedly popped the q to Rose? I'm loving it. Mostly love Rose due to her saying how fab TB was in Utopia - and I thought she was brill in that too. But I'm also a sucker for a happy ending.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 26/09/2017 14:52

Comtess!
Hello Grin Well done on the 13k time - you'll have to talk to Elk about knees making worrying noises Confused

Will read the Guardian article later. How nice about Kit'n'Rose. We had a wonderfully daft local paper headline about how they'd looked at a house in our region... but didn't buy it and went somewhere else . Hmm

MadamedeChevreuse · 26/09/2017 15:18

comtesse Im not loving DTs hair at all - thought they would go for suave and slightly sinister rather than...whatever they have decided to go for. Which is a bit weird frankly and not at all sexy.

Did you know he's in a Marvel thing on Netflix? Jessica Jones. He plays the baddie. No silly makeup or capes - just a purple suit. He is v good apparently.

Shit I now have to make a spanish cake for an international food evening at ds's school. Never made it before. It contains almonds. Will they freak out cos it has nuts? Seems like nuts are 100% unwelcome in all schools now.

MadamedeChevreuse · 26/09/2017 15:32

Cake is called Tarta de Santiago btw. Ahahaha. Grin

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 26/09/2017 15:36

Wench cake!!!! Well, if they don't like it, you'll just have to take it home and eat it yourself. Oh the hardship Grin
