DS2 had a bacon roll meal, DD just had a bacon roll (the hash browns are too greasy for her), I had a sausage, egg and cheese bagel meal. Easter Grin

Morning! Happy Easter Monday Easter Smile Brew.

Malcolm hope you're ok this morn? And DS2? At least it's not a school run day today!

EDBD sounds like a good tradition Easter Grin

So I am still in bed but am going to have to get up as my cat has just joined me and is currently kneading my stomach. Lets just say I vaguely needed the loo before....and now...Easter Hmm Easter Blush...

Anyway hope you both enjoy the Bank Hol!

MalcolmTuckersOmniShambles · 17/04/2017 10:03

Lots of BrewBrewBrew, Sassy - at least I got a few hours before he woke up, then a couple more once I brought him into bed with me, so I don't feel too bad, surprisingly!

All of our McDonald's are at least 20 mins drive away Sad so I very rarely go. Plus I'm trying to lose weight . But I agree, that a McDonald's breakfast on the last day of the holidays sounds like a fantastic tradition!

I'm back to the school run for DD2 tomorrow, too but DS1 and DD1 don't go back until next week, so I'm being eased in gently!

Have a good day!

I actually have some plans for tomorrow which am looking forward to...opticians in morn and need new pair of specs as my lenses are v badly scratched. Have had this pair for years so looking forward to finding a new pair. Then hairdressers in the afternoon. Been going blonder and blonder and think after tomorrow I'll be full on again! It's funny as I forget that DD has only known me as dark haired throughout her life, as have all her friends and all my friends down here, so everyone keeps commenting (in a good way) about it. I was blonde when I got pregnant but then went back to being dark as didn't want to be bleaching whilst pregnant and then stayed dark. Being lighter def helps on the greys front though!

Glad you got some sleep Malcolm and are feeling ok. Raising my Brew to you!

EvilDoctorBallerinaDuck · 17/04/2017 13:29

You obviously have excellent taste Malcolm! Easter WinkEaster Grin

I love our tradition Sassy, it came from Google. We used to go to a Wetherspoons, but now I don't even bother to ask, as they always pick McDonald's! Easter Grin

Had steak and ale pie for lunch, the DC have just finished DS2's Easter bonnet. Easter Grin

EvilDoctorBallerinaDuck · 17/04/2017 15:14

Making steak and London porter hash for supper. Easter Grin

SassynSane · 17/04/2017 15:17

Ooh intrigued...what's London porter hash EDBD?

SassynSane · 17/04/2017 16:54

Just back from food shop...managed to get DD bargain half-price Secret Life of Pets egg (well actually mug, key ring & choccie bars) & some Oreo mini egg things so all sorted...phew...but on another note am throwing a mini Sassy-strop! I decided to treat myself to a latte. Decided to wait until on way out of supermarket only to be told coffee place was closing so wouldn't serve me...decided to go to main shop in high street (Costa), also closing....I am close to a flounce....going to have to do homemade version which doesn't really cut it....I know there are worse things to worry about but I was looking forward to my latte treat god damn it! 😣

EvilDoctorBallerinaDuck · 17/04/2017 21:27

Steak and London porter hash: like corned beef hash made with stewing steak and London porter dark beer. Very nice.

EvilDoctorBallerinaDuck · 17/04/2017 21:28

The DC were in bed by 9, I'm in bed now. Easter Grin

MalcolmTuckersOmniShambles · 17/04/2017 22:10

It never ceases to amaze me that coffee shops close so early! Why, just WHY?!!!

London Porter Hash sounds yum, EDBD.

Turns out I was not as okay as I thought! Have spent the day feeling utterly grim and the children have definitely borne the brunt of it. Am in bed now and praying for an uninterrupted night's sleep - I think it's been about 5 or 6 days/nights now since I slept all the way through.

Wish me luck and hope you both get a good night's sleep too! 😴

Ooh EDBD that does sound good....I might need to google recipe!

Aww Malcolm, crossing fingers you have a better night. Sleep deprivation is rubbish!

I know. Was properly gutted about latte. First time I had got out of four walls properly this weekend so thought nice treat for myself....ended up back in four walls with homemade version...ah well...

Fingers crossed we all sleep well & good luck for the school runs tomorrow x

Morning! Brew x 6!! Shocking night. Awake til gone 2am. No idea when finally went to sleep. V tired now but need to get to the opticians, then hairdressers later...at least can chill in hairdressers chair and will be v early night tonight as back to work tomorrow....hope you both slept ok and your school runs have gone well this morning Smile

MalcolmTuckersOmniShambles · 18/04/2017 08:27

Ah, EDBD, I was up at the same time as you...😭

DS2 woke up around 3, wouldn't go back to sleep until past 4, when I gave up and took him into bed with us. Second night in a row he's slept in our bed, but nothing else seems to work. I'm praying it's just a phase and that I'm not setting a precedent where he always wants to come in our bed.

I feel bloody shattered. Poor DH had to get up at 6.30 to get ready for work. I've got lots of stuff I need to do today but quite frankly, it's not going to get done because I feel like crap!

What's worse is that for some reason, I just couldn't get to sleep last night, even though I was shattered. It was gone midnight the last time I looked at my clock.

In happier news, for my birthday last December, my parents offered to take me to a West End show of my choice and a posh meal out. I've been looking, but nothing has jumped out at me - then a couple of days ago, I saw that the RSC are adapting a couple of my favourite books, the ones about Cicero by Robert Harris. The adaptation is by the same person who adapted Wolf Hall, which we also saw a couple of years ago so it should be really good. It's in Stratford, which is actually nearer and easier to get to from here and there are two plays instead of one, but I traded an expensive meal out for the other play and the travelling costs will be less as we can drive, instead of train and Tube.

It's not until December and January, but I'm so excited!

Also, DH went out to the city centre yesterday and went to Hotel Chocolat to their sale. He got me the most gorgeous egg with alcoholic chocolates in the middle, and another dark chocolate egg with almonds and marzipan. He knows me so well! Grin

Anyway enough rambling on from me! Hope you all have a lovely day.

Ooh the plays AND the chocolate both sound really exciting Malcolm. How lovely, you sound like you have a lovely DH and family 😊 Sorry you had a rubbish night too...crap isn't it? At least only have myself to worry about today and will have early night later. Here's to Brew and keeping on keeping on!

SassynSane · 18/04/2017 09:24

TMI...but just found out poss reason for lack of sleep....have got v dodgy stomach...could make sitting in chairs for long time today, um, interesting ConfusedBlush

MalcolmTuckersOmniShambles · 18/04/2017 10:11

Um...good luck?!!!!

Accompanied DS2 on the Easter bonnet parade, have just had a big breakfast sandwich. Easter Grin

Brews all round today i think!

Hope your stomach's OK Sassy Flowers

MalcolmTuckersOmniShambles · 18/04/2017 11:40

That sounds lovely, EDBD - the Easter Bonnet parade, I mean although the Big Breakfast sandwich sounds pretty damn good too!

I think DS2 and DD3 are under the weather, they're definitely not themselves. Very pale and snotty and fairly quiet, not at all usual!
